  1. probably, but if this were in my house, there would be nothing left to freeze. The recipe says it lasts for a week. J would inhale that within a few days.
  2. We did too when we had our lab, Gracie..... lasted about a week. And mine.
  3. You bet! This entire topic troubles me because the man, Bart kept insisting his cookies were safe. His website states: These cookies are independently tested at 5.6ppm which is far under the new federal limit of 20ppm. He even started a vendetta against Gluten Dude over it after GD posted a blog article about their production practices. It got pretty...
  4. Gluten Free Watchdog has approved the following statement regarding the test results for Bart and Judy’s gluten-free chocolate chip cookies. This service is run entirely on subscriptions, but they have generously allowed us to share the results because so many in the G F community requested the information be shared with the public. You can see the f...
  5. lol K, the chemist hubs loved that one. thanks, I needed a giggle.
  6. now, that's just a country song awaitin to be written have fun! 'scuse me while I go lay back down (stoopit people who give you viruses at the gym....) ....can't eat...waaa.....
  7. It only takes a little bit of something in a single bite of something hon. I've had food poisoning from one oyster off a plateful that my husband ate from too. One person with norovirus touches your plate for example...and well, that's just how it happens, I am afraid.
  8. Gluten passes through the system and then, most people have a few bouts of D for a day or so...and then you get past it. You may not feel great, but you do not have continuous D for 6 days. It sounds like a stomach virus, food poisoning or something else. I've got a round of it going here, if it gives you any comfort having a pal. I know it is not...
  9. I would have asked to speak to the manager immediately. The waiter's response was smug and condescending and there's no excuse for that. I am always polite and I always get respectful responses, but the one time I didn't? well, let's just say that kiddo never made fun of anyone asking for a G F menu again. If they cannot accommodate your dietary...
  10. I have never heard of "detoxing from gluten" after 4 months. I doubt that is the issue. As I told you, healing is an up an down road and a headache or tummy troubles are not clinically significant, but again, since your GI doctor has recommended an endoscopy, maybe it is worth exploring. just a thought.
  11. I do not think he is wrong at all. I think he wants to make sure you have been diagnosed properly and maybe also eliminate other conditions. You may well still have evidence of villous blunting if your antibodies are still high. If your test results indicate celiac, why does he 'doubt" it? i do not understand. Despite some of our misadventures...
  12. I would not automatically assume that your villi are still flat because of some "other medical condition" just yet. You are still healing. Any number of things can cause bloating. Do you eat dairy foods for example? how much processed G F foods are you eating? maybe it's too much for you right now. Try just one week with no grains or dairy and see...
  13. I just posted on your other thread. Take a look If you can tolerate raw fruits and veggies, eat them. There is no "prescription" or set diet except avoid gluten (and if you have a dairy problem, take that out for a few months and add it back in later. ) It takes anywhere from 6 months- years, depending on many factors: age, severity of the damage...
  14. I strongly suggest you get the book Real Life with Celiac Disease by Melinda Dennis and Daniel Leffler. Tons of great advice and excellent information in there by over 50 leading celiac experts and celiac nutritionists. Read this thread: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ What doctor just called and said "you may have...
  15. Your story is not unfamiliar to me at all. I have a similarly long story, complications, multiple miscarriages and I could never carry to term. There's more, but this is your story and your thread and most people on here are already aware of my saga, so I will not bore them again. My point is: believe it or not, there are many people just like you who...
  16. There is definitely a link between impaired gall bladder motility and celiac disease. It's listed as a related symptom/condition on the literature on the Univ. of Chicago celiac research center. I am glad your aunt and cousin are getting relief, but i wish chiropractors would stop 'diagnosing people". If they want to help their patients, they should...
  17. THIS is my family exactly. My mom and her 6 siblings--all Gall bladder- less by their 40's. I doubt any one of the 28 cousins still have their GB. Every time I turned around, someone else's was gone. (i think my brother may be the only one with one left) I lost mine 28 years ago. It was just the beginning of so many things.... I often wonder if my GB could...
  18. I only met one and that was because her father-in-law had celiac. Often, they will hand you the package insert for the medication and tell you to read the ingredients...all that teeny tiny print I had to vet all my mother's medicines and I had to read 4 inserts....it was like reading a chemistry text in font like this.
  19. got the same hubs right here. I make him eat it. That's right. 5'4" me makes 6'4" him eat his spinach. Now, I have a visual in my head of you with giant dryer sheet fake boobs and a giant poofy butt. Adorbs!
  20. Friend sent me this this morning...it's groan-worthy and I should probably apologize in advance...lol...but you guys like the silly stuff... A couple lived near the ocean and used to walk the beach a lot. One summer they noticed a girl who was at the beach pretty much every day. She wasn't unusual, nor was the travel bag she carried, except for one thing...
  21. Having lived in the remote countryside for 16 years, I can testify: bugs will try to find their way into your panties no matter what you try to do to deter them...(much like randy frat boys.) You can keep swatting them away, but they keep coming around..... The best way to repel them is to not shower or put anything on (lotion etc.) before going outside...
  22. At the beginning of the healing after diagnosis, yes, honestly,I was not able to exercise or have massage or physical therapy without creating more pain. It was not pleasant. In time, this has changed and I do not have the intense pain after like I used to have. And yes, stress can cause a flare in any autoimmune response because it creates inflammation...
  23. Every day is a healing day. Period. That's all any of you need to know, Don't look back & do not assume anything about the future either. Do not let fear rule your lives. This diagnosis is not a death sentence or "the worst thing that can happen". For many of us who went undiagnosed for most of our lives, it was life -saving. This disease almost...
  24. Honestly, if it were a "gluten" issue...wouldn't you also have had symptoms?
  25. I just did a super-thorough vacuuming, washed all windows and surfaces, hosed down her car seat and washed the cover, etc. I really have no idea whether this is a reasonable thing to be concerned about, or whether the chance of glutening from straw is miniscule. Shelley Case, a celiac expert says: As for handling straw (hay), technically it should...
