  1. She's using the recipe from America's Test Kitchen's "How can It be Gluten Free" cookbook, hon. Maybe we can cut and paste it from the website. I'll take a look. Okay, I'm back. They are willing to give some "freebie info" away.... but that EM recipe is not there. http://howcanitbeglutenfree.com/gluten-free-recipes/ maybe Addy will...
  2. J and I made english muffins more than once and I thought they just tasted like any other homemade G F bread product...like a fluffy roll. Did you think they were "English muffins" for "reals"? . Now, are these from the America's Test Kitchen G F cookbook that you are blazing through? I do. I pay $8 for them--- because my hubs really ...

  4. We did too. A chebe pizza with sauteed onions, mushrooms and BACON. P.S. . I only tried the optional cheese in the crust once, I prefer it without. Tonight will be equally simple. Burgers & fries. Still not very hungry, but the hubs has rebounded and he's a hungry dude now. lol He can make burgers on the grill for us. He grabbed some Udi...

I told these guys I heard from you a few times and that you were transitioning well to your new home, but it's not the same as having you here "back at the dinner table" with us xxoo Still feeling lousy, Going to make soup in the slow...
  6. Gracie wandered the woods in NY and never had a single flea. None of the cats either.....until the last year we were there.Started seeing fleas on our feet as we walked on the carpet. Dang! so, what happened? We had used Frontline for years, then Advantage. Then, the flea infestation. Our vet encouraged us to switch up treatments. She felt they...

  10. I agree...and in addition to doing all those things you mentioned, mine also does the vacuuming, the grilling and actually likes to grocery shop. I do these things too---but he is very good about "sharing" the load. He quickly learned to label- read too.Took the time to learn how to check ingredients. . ...oh, and he can make bread. and he brews beer...

  15. Made it until about 2, when the skies opened up. We had to walk a LONG way to the shuttle bus, then to the car. No point in running or even walking fast. Had to come back to the hotel to take a hot shower and wring out our clothes. oh well. (guess where the umbrella was? the car, of course!) We saw some good stuff before that happened. The kind of sad...
  16. That's what our wild buns did up in NY. Isn't it awesome to watch them lay there like that!!?? . They used to take dirt baths too. So funny. Man, I miss those buns. And neither the dog nor any of the cats chased them (or they'd have gotten in big trouble with me!) BUT! I have seen a few buns around our new home in FL. So exciting. Now if they can...
  17. The purr sounded like the sound Bugs bunny makes just before he says "what's up doc"? like a very soft "fffffcccch"..like the rapid tiny soft sound of teeth chattering...(when my cat sees a bird, she does this sound) I had to ask the girl "is that her teeth chattering ?" she said "she's purring" it was like this, only softer sounding.

  20. Just know that not all the reviews on FMGF are written by celiacs and true NCGS. Some "G F" peeps are willing to eat in places that have a G F menu yes, but they do not seem to question the kitchen practices, ingredients, or prep. Just be very careful, ok? When I review, I always say "I have celiac and I found this place to be....". Speaking of dining...
  21. A famous Viking explorer returned home from a voyage and found his name missing from the town register. His wife insisted on complaining to the local civic official, who apologized profusely saying, "I must have taken Leif off my census." Evidence has been found that William Tell and his family were avid bowlers. Unfortunately, all the Swiss...
  22. Well, we may manifest different symptoms yes.....and we may have different challenges, other AI diseases in addition to celiac (diabetes, lupus, thyroid, OA, RA, etc....or other food intolerances, but here is the part I always wish to point out: we are all alike in this one regard: A smidge of gluten sparks the autoimmune response. In ANY celiac gut...
