  1. I'm a brutal task-master and have no qualms barking orders and tossing out things. (hard to believe, given how delightful and sedate I am, isn't it?) Shall I come over?
  2. I love homemade tapioca pudding with fresh whipped cream....total yumsters. Enjoy! Dinner tonight is going to be escarole and white bean soup. Right after I finish cleaning the garden beds out. I'm on a mission....
  3. I started a pot roast and veggies crock pot thinger (I love LOVE2TRAVEL's word) this morning before I went to the gym. (yes, I went to the gym the day after major yard work, and after a week of heavy lifting and really, what the heck is going on here? Me, doing physical labor and not wanting to kill myself from the pain??! Healing the gut, collagen supplements...
  4. I am not the only with saran wrap issues, I see. Bette Hagman rocks! First woman of gluten-free baking. If you do not like her version for any reason, I HIGHLY recommend Peter and Kelli Bronski's pie dough recipe. Flaky, light and rolls out like the real thing. Tastes awesome. When my Mom, the champion flaky pie crust maker of the family ...
  5. Shadow has magic soup, everybody!!!!
  6. Alex, that sounds like a perfect day to me!!! I'm an "old school". dinosaur. I still like "holding" books while I read them and I like libraries. too and I hope they do not become extinct in our techno world. Dinner tonight will be roast pork with onions and garlic and baked sweet potatoes and maybe baby peas. Taking the day off from physical...

  10. I like when Karen and SKI type celiac and their auto-correct thinger turns it into "celibacy"
  11. Would you say that again louder so the hubs can hear that please? or my Mom? Not to be picky, but I'm pretty sure they are macarons not macaroons, but I'm gonna let LOVE2 tell you that. .
  12. hey, when I say this about these kiddos not eating cake for dinner and making sure they are getting their protein, you say "Oh let them have some goodies". I wanted to be "lenient mom" for a change.
  13. ice cream? cottage cheese? butterscotch pudding? soup? noodles with butter? trying to think of soft things for you, poor baby cake makes me happy too. I like a good piece of cake. and those are macarons (but not macaroons) in Love2's picture. on your car, your bike, or your go- kart? don't spill your tea when you slam them on!.
  14. I swear, I think my pants just got tighter reading this post.
  15. YUM--all good stuff, K- (drooling) Going with a beef filet tonight on the grill, some baby potatoes and asparagus. Like Love2Travel, we're forcing Spring. (although we have been known to grill out in the snow)
  16. That should do it! You are the only one among us who could use "unctuous" in a sentence and not sound like a pompous asshat (and get heckled by the troops). It's just "you"--whom we love and dearly hope gets out of that snow-filled hell as soon as possible. Get thee to the sun, woman!
  17. sniffle, wish I lived closer...I'd come for girlie night. I could bring cake..
  18. do you want to use chebe dough in a pinch or make one from scratch?
  19. It's Friday, so you all know what this means: PIZZA!!!! Think it will be a white za--garlic, broccoli, arugula, red onion, ricotta and mozzarella. No heavy lifting today. We're done for now. The dumpster is full. Golf day for hubs. Laundry, a movie and a walk limp around the property day for me. ouch ouch ouch

  22. Sounds de-lish to me! I'm so beat after 3 days of hauling stuff out of the house and cleaning a very full basement and garage and I can barely work up the enthusiasm for dinner....I'm pooped!....... but very happy at what we have accomplished. Just try and envision me carrying a set of 20 lbs. weights up a flight of stairs and hurling them into a dumpster...
  23. holy crap! am I sore. We started filling the dumpster today with our old beat up furniture and dusty old stuff that was in the garage (3rd bay is devoted to all things CRAP ). I tossed so many things that we're never going to use (and it is not even worthy of the Salvation Army--that stuff has been put aside) There was so much wood the hubs had stockpiled...
  24. Oh. I have a pretty good idea.
