  1. we're not very stealthy, are we?
  2. Yes, of course, we should give the poor girl some SUNSHINE and restorative rest. Going old school/retro tonight for dinner: Meatloaf Baked potatoes Swiss chard Might have a bit of vanilla ice cream. That's a Sunday night thing in our house since I was a wee one. It used to be a "Sundaes on Sunday" tradition with my Daddy --we are...
  3. Good stuff, K!! and good luck at the tournament! I thought that the Udi's bread traveled surprisingly well for us last month. Did not get stale, I kept it in the fridge. On the road is "do-able" now. The Jif on -the- go cups, crunchmaster crackers, apples and celery sticks worked well. Some Chobani cups and bananas for breakfast. The Koolatron cooler...
  4. CP, you're still new here, so you are just beginning to see what she can do. Our Love2 ...oh, she does not just "cook", nay,......she weaves magic! She makes a plate talk and say "thank you, thank you, thank you". She makes people drool uncontrollably on their laptops. Legend has it that she once caused a mass migration of nomadic people to walk...
  5. Hon, you're totally misreading the sentences people have written and misinterpreting a "tone" that isn't even there.. The word clearly (when used an an adverb) just means "plainly and obviously" indicated...as in "wheat will be clearly stated on the label".. Take a deep breath and read the replies again. No one is being rude here. Honest!!
  6. here ya go, toots!. Seems she was just outside desperately searching for LOVE2TRAVEL and SORA . Those poor girls are buried under tons of snow. I told them both, listen to me : "move SOUTH".
  7. Hmm, sounds just like my Mom's "goulash" recipe. Plain, no cheese though... She hates cheese-- I know, can you imagine??!! I can't be her kid.
  8. I simply cannot express how happy I am for you, hon!! I know what it means to take back your life and feel better.. Hooray for healing! Big hugs to you. It's Friday, so chances are pizza is in store for the hubs after his golf outing. I may have encores of last night's "chicken surprise" which turned out to be chicken satay with thai peanut sauce...
  9. I've been known to get the quizzical look when I guffaw out loud. Karen's one-liners on emails, for example often prompt those. By the time I explain it, he's not interested anymore. I think our humor on here is more of a "you had to be there" kinda thing. SkiLIsa and I share a common issue of histamine intolerance. Strawberries are a main culprit...
  10. I know I wouldn't screw with you ... It better not. I've got crazy mad BIG plans
  11. ALEX!! This is me upon reading these words (it's crazy, but this emoticon looks exactly like me!!) oh honey, I know how much this means to you and I am so very, very happy for you... whoohoo!!!! You can do this tonight!
  12. Clever girl. Bribery works. I'm bribing mine too, Right now, he's cleaning out the basement as I have just made his fav Giant Oatmeal Granola Cookies. They are a powerhouse of goodness. I should really post that recipe on here. I pilfered liberally from various recipes out there and changed a few things in it, so I figure it makes it mine. Sort of. ...
  13. that brightened things immensely (thanks, silly girl) xx
  14. Mr. Mw may move to the States . Better, thanks. Obviously, the high histamines and lack of DAO enzyme are still my nemesis for now (damn you, celiac! ) so it's back to the "short list" and back to the gym this AM. I simply cannot believe how much pain that darn inflammation causes. Last night, I was on fire, my neck and back in spasms and quite...
  15. Poor babe! Nothing like trying to keep things in check while in public. Sorry. Get some rest. If it makes you feel any better to have a buddy in distress, I have not felt well for 4 days. Many potty trips and on Thursday, I had to find one QUICKLY in a grocery store. That hasn't happened to me in a year. Not a glutening, no way. no how. Methinks I overdid...
  16. And you always know for sure who your best friend is. Nothing says love like someone holding your hair back while you hurl. Dinner tonight: Corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, carrots and turnips (it's not just for St. Paddy's in our house) and while it simmers, we'll continue our house cleaning. Got through the 5 weeks of mail. they held...
  17. welllll, funny you should mention it...........moving plans ARE being made and an occasional "whole evening to yourself."..is a wonderful thing. Enjoy!
  18. Well, kudos----you guys all have kids with brains!! and they will take good care of you when you are O-L-D because they will be rich..... sooooo.....can old Auntie Irish come live with any of you if necessary? I do not want to cook tonight (i am exhausted and my back hurts...waaa) and the hubs has resumed golf league on Fridays (darn fools out there...
  19. message received and yes, no way that wetsuit would have come off, much less gone on....now, that would have been UGLY. and have caused quite a scene, possibly requiring a giant shoe horn....and some oil of some nature....
  20. SKI!! No scaring me while I'm traveling!!! Glad you're okay. xx Our Easter dinner was great. Can't beat eating in a restaurant owned by a fellow celiac. And her marble cheesecake--added another inch to my thighs. whoohoo! Monday night in the hotel room in NC was sandwiches. No nearby restaurant offerings made me feel comfy at all. But on...
  21. You've had a LONG week, Lisa. Glad Mom is settled and you can breathe. You "did good", hon!xx Happy Easter, Everyone! Traveling home--a few days to go, but I thought I'd check in and tell you that dining out safely is absolutely possible while traveling. Kudos to the folks who "invented" Find Me Gluten Free and I will be adding my thoughts on that...
  22. Love, prayers, well wishes, good vibes, fingers crossed....I am doing all of it. I know full well the "adventures" of advocating for a parent. My poor Dad--if I only knew back then what I know now. sigh Take care of Lisa, too while you are being so strong for Mum. Hugs, kiddo. Call me anytime . xxoo.
  23. This was my path for years before DX. The fibro DX (which is a doctor's way of saying "you have pain I cannot explain and because it does not show up on any testing, I am giving up on you and giving you anti-depressants, muscles relaxers and neurontin. Now, get out.) Neurotin is essentially the same as Lyrica (gabapentin/pregabanin) and if you had no relief...
  24. "oh f--k! they float!!!!" ...... AND a new bike...thanks for the great way to start my day. So sorry about your Mom falling, though. and, yes. the combo of various bread heels worked well for my stuffing, too last Thanksgiving. Happy cycling!!
