  1. yes, the OP says the same ovens. Same everything. ....never....see my rant **
  2. Excuse that mini-rant I just get tired of the baloney.
  3. I'm with you, Karen. Can't seem to get people to understand the following: Gluten FREE eating means Gluten FREE. FREE of GLUTEN. ENTIRELY. It doesn't mean "maybe, kinda, sorta" It doesn't mean dabbling in it or "gluten lite" it doesn't mean 4 out of 7 days and on holidays we take breaks. It doesn't mean use non-gluten grains, but...
  4. Frankly, I wouldn't eat a domino's pizza before DX. But even if it were the only available gluten-free pizza on the planet, the CC issue makes it totally off limits to me. Just using an alternative flour does not make it a safe "gluten free" option. People just do not seem to get that part.
  5. Guacamole, mango salsa, Beef Tacos and flan here! I love Cinco de Mayo!
  6. Yes, a fudgy brownie! Sorry about the LI --I had that, too...for a LOOONg time, but now, I can tolerate it . Maybe you will get it back? Hope so.Best wishes.
  7. So glad you liked it!! I do it with fresh whipped cream and berries myself...yum! (and makes for tight jeans! )
  8. They do not have a lot of preservatives in them and so they spoil quickly. Also, many brands come frozen so they can be shipped to places where gluten-free products are not readily available. They appear "doughy" because gluten-free baked goods have no gluten in them and so xantham gum or guar gum is used to re-create that elasticity and binds it together...
  9. The sources you cited are: --a forum thread discussion (but you say it is not where you got your information?) --as site that sells vitamins and supplements --a blog and she ends with: "NOTE: It’s important that a clear laboratory diagnosis is determined before attempting high dose supplementation with zinc and/or B6. Working closely with a q...
  10. I tried these when I was traveling recently and needed snacks to have handy. I do not know how "powerful" they are, but they are pretty darn tasty http://store.nugonutrition.com/category/nugo-free.html
  11. Did you ask if he flipped a coin for that diagnosis? What an ass hat.
  12. The sad thing is....they would not even see WHY their responses are so ridiculous!!! I DID say something to several of the practitioners whose behavior I reported to you guys in my long post. I got silence in return and one half-hearted apology left on voicemail that sounded like a lawyer had written it and he had practiced it. Carefully worded...
  13. Just a ridiculous story, honey--sorry it happened. ?? and people wonder why stories abound on the news of "average nice people" who can't take it anymore and snap and go all postal.......??.
  14. That story is whacked. Total insanity. A disgrace. That poor woman. Hope the family sued the hospital--although it would not be much comfort to them.
  15. Since you have used the term "chemists" for pharmacy, are you in the UK or Ireland perhaps?? Guess the US docs are not alone....
  16. That's because we are not REALLY sick, honey---we're just anxious and depressed and......wait for it......menopausal.....
  17. So, after I posted my cynical thoughts about the medical profession this AM, I went to the dentist and the Newsweek magazine just fell open to THIS article (honest) and I laughed and thought, O M G! they have to see this. Here is one tidbit: "The average time a patient has to present his concerns before being interrupted by the doctor? ...
  18. Think Big Pharma controls the health care profession? I was never this jaded in my thinking until the last few years when I received the worst medical "care" possible. No help; just a shoebox full of drugs. You can't believe the stuff I was given just to pacify me. Doctors push meds --to "symptom-treat" before they even try to think of a CAUSE...
  19. The migraine story made me recall..a few years ago, hubs took me to the ER for a vicious migraine, complete with vomiting and light flashes. I have on sunglasses (it is night time now ) and I just wish someone would rip my head off so it will stop. She is having trouble finding a vein to put in an IV to hydrate me and ends up butchering my arms, finally deciding...
  20. Additional products people ask about: San-J Organic Tamari Gluten Free Soy Sauce is available. McCormick single spice/herbs and vanilla are gluten free. For spice blends, be sure to read the labels!! Spice blends can not hide grain (gluten). Seasoning blends are a whole different ball game.
  21. I saw this topic title and thought....they should PM Raven...but here she is! and Sjorgen's comes to mind as well. Elevated IgA levels are found in various autoimmune disorders and infections, but given your family history and his symptoms, well...gluten intolerance seems very possible. Just because he is negative on blood work doesn't rule...
  22. You have been diagnosed and you do not know what to do next. First, do not panic! and Welcome to the Forum! I have posted this information in pieces and parts on this site during the past year so many times and some newbies suggested it would have been helpful if they had seen it ALL --right away after they were DXed.... so, I thought, why not paste...
  23. Don't! You felt rotten and whatever way you expressed it, is valid. Unless you called her a *$#*@# ??. (then, maybe a sheepish "sorry" is in order??)
  24. I would have said: I don't know about you, but I feel like sh*t
