  1. I read that Bulleye bbq sauce is gluten free, but I notice it says it has modified food starch? I thought modified food starch was questionable? We're going camping and my husband wants to bring this bottle of Bulleye sweet and tangy, is it OK for me to eat this stuff? Thanks in advance!
  2. Our Trader Joe's doesn't have gluten-free beer. Bevmo is good for gluten-free beer. I have tried New Grist, Redbridge and one other one, forgot the name, and they were okaaaay... but honestly, gluten-free beer in my opinion is just NOT the same as real beer. I was a "beer person" before, and now I'm not because I'm not impressed with the gluten-free variety...
  3. Thanks for all the info! I did end up getting my hormones tested they said it was came out normal. But I think just because it doesn't show anything doesn't necessarily mean it isn't related to hormones... They told me it was stress and gave me the number for stress management.
  4. Thanks, Gemini! Five years ago I didn't have kids or (know about having) celiac, now I have two kids, celiac and possibly pre-menopause. It's a lot to happen in so short a time. A lot to happen to my body. Ha! I definitely do need to exercise. Every time I start working out, I get sick. I think just a coincidence, but it does throw a wrench into my plans...
  5. I did have my thyroid checked (it was normal) but not my hormones. My doc actually kind of chuckled when I suggested I could be going through menopause, so I guess that's why he didn't check my hormones. Thanks for the info! I'm going to check out those books. ... I don't know if I've had hot flashes. I have been feeling hot a lot but I don't know if...
  6. Am I going through perimenopause? I used to get my period every 28 days. Then for a while it was every 25 days. Now it's 21 days. Why?? The last time I saw my doc I told him I'm having fatigue, irritability, I'm emotional, etc. I told him I feel like I have PMS all the time, and could I be going through menopause? He says no. He said it's stress and I...
  7. My two cents: I have a horrible temper lately. And depression and anxiety. I don't know if I am accidentally eating gluten, I'm really careful. It feels like pms, except it's every day.
  8. I do spinach smoothies too! When I give it to my little ones, I call it swamp juice (think Shrek) and they love it. (It's all in the name -- broccoli is called dinosaur trees at my house.) They love peanut butter smoothies too: peanut butter, bananas, rice (or soy) milk, vanilla yogurt, ice cubes and a little Stevia or agave nectar. Don't put in too much...
  9. Protein is supposed to curb hunger/make you feel full. When I was trying to lose weight, I made sure to eat some protein with every meal so that I wouldn't have the munchies all day, and it seems to work. I found a few vegan, gluten-free protein powders too that I am going to try when I cut gluten. I put protein powder, rice milk, bananas and frozen...
  10. Wow, thanks to all of you for your thoughtful responses! I guess I will go ahead and do the endoscopy. I probably will need the "official" diagnosis before I change my whole diet. I am a vegan so it will be an inconvenience to do vegan AND gluten free. I eat a lot of pasta, grains, meat substitutes (many of which contain gluten) so it will be hard. I guess...
  11. Hi I'm new to this board and I am confused about my test results -- and my doc wants me to have an upper endoscopy which I really don't want to do! Here are my abnormal results: (tTG) Ab, IgA: >100 endomysial AB IgA: Positive Endomysial AB Titer: 1:160 Is it possible these could mean something ELSE is wrong with me, or are these results specific...
