Yes, I'll have to remember that snack. I saw some of the snacks the Red Cross were given away. My friend spotted a piece of some resturant's bread roll. She was going about how gross it was and I was thinking blankly "I'd kill for that bread if I could eat it."
LC- That feel of doing something good is what I aim for. I couldn't donate at this semester's blood drive (Still 16. Gotta be 17). I can understand getting nervous, though. The doctors have had my blood draw a billion times and it just makes me uneasy when you have to have a stranger take your blood.
Sorry! English is the only language I speak, so, I have no clue what you are saying. The phrase in my signature is from this pretty poem by Paul Verlaine I found translated in a book. I thought it was pretty neat so I just added it on in my signature.

My favorite food that is naturally gluten-free would be my mom's red beans and rice. So yummy, I could live off it.

THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!
Lol they are! I was driving around the mall in a nearby town close to mine around 7 or so and spotted them. They had this booth set up at one of the stores and they were dancing, trying to advertise for the cookies! I thought it was cute

Annatto is a coloring used in food and other products. It is derived from the seed pod of a tree. It is the color most commonly used to make cheese cheddar yellow (its natural color is white). It is common in other cheeses as well. It is gluten-free.
Thanks so much for the info, Peter! You made my day ---I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to eat any of the ice cream!

Thanks guys! I'm so excited.
Run_4_Jesus: I'm glad you're gonna get to work at the health store! That's probably the safest place for Celiacs like us to work.
Kassie: That's great! I'm hoping it'll be the same for me once I start working there.
Peacenlove_girl17: I hate that your allergies are preventing you from getting a job. I have a friend that has a lot of those allergies too. Perhaps maybe you can get a job at non-food store?
For all who asked about the ice cream: I believe all the ice creams are gluten-free expect for the 'Better Batter' and 'Chocolate Better Batter.' Here's the link for the Allergens in their ice cream, the list is at the bottom of the page. They also have shakes. Plus, they have those gluteny cakes and malts too...

There is one thing I question: What in the world is Annatto?

Thanks so much everyone for the information! I'm so glad I can give blood.

I can't believe it! Today, I went down to Maggie Moo's and filled out an application. Filled it out, got asked a few question and WHAM! I got hired! My orientation is this Tuesday 4-6 and training is Wednesday 4-9 and then the store opens Thursday! God really blessed me today!
I'm glad I get to work at an ice cream palor. I know there's still a lot of gluten around, but, it beats working where it's greasy and stuff. Those Wilton cake decoration class paid off!

I love to draw. It's probably one of my favorite things to do. I'm in my 2nd year of Spanish but really can't speak it very well.

I actually know someone that has Celiac Disease! I help the younger Sunday School class out and the teacher for it started described her symptoms to me. I told her about Celiac. Eventually, she went and got the tests done and wham---She has Celiac! I just thought that was cool to affect someone like that.

I know this has been asked before, but, the site search bar really doesn't like me. Are people with Celiac allowed to donate blood? My county's vocational center has a blood drive every year and I'll be able to donate soon once my 17th birthday rolls around. So, I thought I would ask. Thanks.

My stomach obviously doesn't like awarkard silence. Yesterday it made this really weird and loud sound in a dead silence while we were working on an essay in my English. It makes new sounds all the time . So, I know how you feel.

Don't let your family's attitude get you down. People are so igornant. They think they're sick and uncomfortable with your disease? They don't even have it! Do what is nessesary to keep yourself healthy. It kinda sucks to have to bring your plates, but, that's what it might take.
Hope the situation lightens.

Dang! I thought you were going to tell me they had a gluten free one. I was leaving Wal-Mart today and the cutest little girl asked if I'd buy them. I wanted to say "yes, I'll buy them all". Oh well, that was a different life, I feel so much better that it's worth it. I think I'll eat my M&M's now.
lol, I thought the same thing too. I miss those Thin Mints.

I prefer emo/indie rock. Fall Out Boy is my favorite.

Yep, I throw up too. If I get gluten in me, it takes about 2 hours before I start throwing up like you described. It also depends on the amount of which I take in on whether I throw up or not. Last time I threw up from gluten it was horrible. My throat was burning so bad. Eventually, it quit before the stomach acid starting coming up really bad.
Hope you're feeling all right. It feels like you're about to die after it's all over.

do you ever do any caving?
No, I haven't had the chance to go caving, though I would really like to do that.

I love to camping, hiking, repelling in the summer. I enjoy just being outdoors most of the time. Drawing and driving are things like to do also =). What do you like to do, Lizzie?
As far as eating, I really don't care what I eat, as long as it is gluten-free. My favorite food though is red beans and rice.

Whew, I thought we had it cold. Highs in the 30s and lows in the teens. I had to run out and start the car for my mom (who's busy making wedding cakes, running back and forward) in my shorts. I will not do that again. The winds are so painful, I couldn't imagine them in zero degree weather.

Once I began the gluten-free diet, gradually my weight loss began to level off. I haven't gained any of it back, I've stayed at the same weight for almost two years now. I was still eating gluten, I would start losing weight again.
It's different for everyone, though. Some folks just don't lose the weight. Some even gain it. If you're losing weight and skinny, it's due to malabsorption. It takes 6 months to a year before your intestines heal and be able to asborb right again. As Molly said, some still can't absorb right.
From what I seen on the board, quite a few people deal with depression and loss of sleep if they're taking in gluten. I know I sure would.
Hope this helps,
