I had 2 of those so good Trader Joe chocolate chip cookies last night and had some issues today? Do you think that little amount of butter can cause a reaction? Such a bummer but those cookies were so good.

Here's a long article about the movie:
Open Original Shared Link
I haven't read the whole thing, but apparently the science in the movie is sometimes sketchy.
And here's an article that has tons of links to other articles that discuss the bad conclusions drawn by the vegetarian crowd in relation to The China Study, which is apparently at least part of the basis for the movie's conclusions: Open Original Shared Link
Thanks for support. Today dh called and said the diatitians at his hospital said this is not a good way to eat so he concented to eat a little meat every few days. Somethimes you have to say there is a God. But he wants to eat this way most of the time.

This guy pretty much sums up what I was thinking.
Thanks gestgar. I agree with the article.

I just read mushroom's article and liked it. I'll show it to my dh. I just need to deal with getting through it right now.

That movie is very one-sided only supports vegetarianism. Human beings are carnivores.
I really appreciate replys because it is so hard on me and my kids. Most things with my 7 yr old are war and this just adds another thing. That is what is so hard. Some kids love to drive a wedge between parents and this is one of those kids. I have to tell her that I'm the boss and she WILL eat the food that I fix. Daddy is going through a phase right now but she will eat the food I fix, super tough with no support. I just wasn't expecting this. Dumb me. I appreciate all thoughts. I can take it. I might cry, but I can take it. I have celiac, IC, dairy issues and more not figured out. So a vagan dh out of the blue is tough and then kids that now wont eat their dinner because daddy wont. @#$%^
I love this forum and an so thankful for it.

Three days ago my dh declaired he is now vegan after our dentist told him to watch it. Could you please watch it and tell me what you all think. Do you really think that all meat will cause cancer and everyone who eats any meat will have to have heart bypass surgery. That is what the movie teaches. Is there any research that refutes this movie. Anything that teaches that small portions of meat does not cause cancer and is ok? I could really use some help. I have 2 small kids 7 and 8 and now they wont eat their dinner because daddy isn't eating it anymore. We used to eat quite healthy but daddy is always an extremist. I'd love some research that shows that this is old research and small amounts of meat are good for you. Or weigh in as you feel. I am really bummed that our family is now devided. The kids are the ones that are now confused. This is really touch for me.

On the same subject, do you have a good resource that says garlic causes GERD? Not that I don't believe you, my husband does not and eats a ton of garlic and the dentist says he has acid teeth errosion from GERD and I think it is from the garlic. So that is why I ask? I'd love to say here is the proof.

The last week or so I've had GRD symptoms and the only thing I'm doing different is having white wine instead of red wine. Could that alone be the cause or what else could it be? I got rid of all dairy in the last few weeks as well. Please share your thoughts.

Yes they do like to say you are all better now. See you in a year. Keep asking questions on here and people will answer them. This is a good place.
Try the dairy idea. I was doing fine without it the last few weeks and decided to try some last night. Big mistake, up all night. But I am a little more sure the dairy is the bad guy.

.And if you got a crockpot, you could toss everything in there in the morning, set it to low, let it cook all day and it would be ready when you are. A few chicken drumsticks, onions, garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms, voila, chicken cacciatore. Serve over gluten free noodles, enough for several meals.
You have a big budget to work with. I'd try the cooking thing. You can always go back to the meal plan. I think you may miss the social stuff from the meal plan. You could bring you food and eat with friends. Try this plan. My husband loved the social aspect of college.

I'd pack some foods. You can get bananas and applesauce, cream of rice and jellow. You can live on that if you have to, along with your favorite bars that you will bring. Best of luck with having the baby.
-
Could you explain this to your x? Would he be willing to try the gluten-free diet for her sake? If you get along at all, I'd try to talk with him. That sounds like your bigger challenge than the school. Good luck. It probably is celiac.

I ate some cheese last night and was sick all night. It was kind of a test and boy did I pay. I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to recover after this. Not fun.

Found this for you.

As I recall there are health type markets there. Look them up and give them a call and ask. How about bringing lots of food and telling your mom not to touch your food. That is what I'll be doing next week. My parents get it a little bit, but not totally. Get some boars head sliced meat to take for yourself. The ham is yummy. Make some hard boiled eggs. Bring some gluten-free nuts and your bread and some fruit. That is what I'm going to do.

Ask them to pull cheese and lettuce from a new container. I do, and they happily do it.
Yes, I'm sure there's some cc but it is very minimal. Remember the only gluten is the flour tortillas...
Their meat is too spicy for me and makes me sick, but the service is good. Not much I can eat there. I just learned I can't do cheese.
-
Did they have non fried food there too? My parents live near there. It would be fun to try. We found some good ones in Santa Cruze last year from posters on here.

Another alternative is clarified butter (ghee), which is butter with the milk proteins removed. I am very sensitive and find I can tolerate that just fine and I like the taste even better than regular butter. Excellent for baking too, as my gluten-free/DF/SF choclate torte will attest. Purity Farms is certified casein free ghee and happens to be the one I can get my hands on most easily.
Thanks. I'll check them out. I love butter and need something to use in baking. It is bad enough to give up ranch dressing and cheese.

I need to find a new butter type fat that wont give me the runs like cheese does. I tested cheese last night and ranch. I was up all night on the toilet. So I know I need to get rid of dairy. Please give me some ideas. Thanks so much.

My IC issues have been acting up lateley. How do I get them to calm down? I think diet coke, cranberry juice, red wine and coffee are the killers. What are yours? It is preventing me from working. I wont take the med for it because it made me almost blind for the pd that I did take it. I'd love to comiserate with anyone that knows what I'm talking about.

My dh and I are wondering if we should cut out dairy and are wondering what led to your decision if you have cut it out. Please explain your symptoms that led to your decision. Thanks so much.
-
Is it just elimination or is there another way to test? Please let me know? Still having lots of issues.

Does anything else work more gently than imodium you'd suggest I try. Something that returns you to normal more quickly. After I get unplugged, I often get the runs again and have to take another imodium to drive and get in this cycle. Could I be sensitive to dairy and soy milk? Yogert seems to due me in these days. Would that make any sense, but I'm ok with cheese and tofu. I'm so confused. I'd love your thought on how to get out of this cycle and what to try.
-
I have a cycle going on with imodium. I get the runs take imodium, get stopped up and then get the runs again and then take imodium again. I really want to break the cycle and need help. I get so much pain from the imodium or from I don't know what from. What else can I do when I get the runs other than imodium? My dh says sometimes people get d when your body pushes the poop around hard stool. I just feel so frustrated and am getting discouraged. I am eating gluten-free. Should I stop dairy? I really don't know where to turn. Thanks for listening. I have to do a lot of driving this week and really don't want to have to take imodium. I don't want to have an accident either.

My aunt told me the name and now I forgot? Please remind me what else I could use in cookies, pancakes, toast etc.
Thanks.
