Should I ask the Dr. for the medicine to dry out the ear behind the drum or just wait and see if physical therapy works. What did the med do that the first or second poster mentioned? It wasn't too bad today, but who knows how it will be tomorrow. When I look up, sometimes I feel like the floor is shaking back and forth and sinking. Not so fun.

The last 2-3 weeks I get vertigo in the afternoon and evening. A few days ago, I felt like I was going to fall over talking to a parent after school. That would have been so imbarassing. It is not super bad, but I've come to fear night driving. The Dr. is going to refer me to a physical therapist. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I can't digest beef. I get sick every time. You'd think I'd learn. My son rolls on the floor in pain with spicey food like beef jerkey so be careful. Hope you find what works.

Is anything at a Chinese restaurant safe to order? I'm sad. My family just went out and I stayed home. Does anyone know if any of their sauces are gluten free? Please let me know if you know of anything that is often found on a menue and safe for us.

Someone asked me today what is a good gluten free cook book so have at it and help me answer her. Thanks so much.

They are doing a food activity for 100th day of school and say there is a tree nut alergy kid, yet asking parents to bring in snacks, not nuts. I see the hole here. Do you know where there is a list of safe snacks for tree nut alergic kids to share with the teachers?

From a previous post you mentioned a thesis you did. We'd love to read some of it. Is there a way we could?
-
I like the clean eating magazine. You can tweak it to get the gluten out. That is the best I've seen.
-
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

I called each one and they said gluten is not added but no garantees because it is not tested at the end? So are they safe for a sensitive celiac? Thanks.
-
I have been working with gig some and signed up to be a reference person for the Celiac Disease Foundation. I've discovered 3 good restaurants I can suggest in Redding, Mary's Pizza shack, Outback and Red Robin. I've been fine from each place. Please stay in touch. How was your trip?

Victoria,
Is your thesis posted somewhere that we could read it? Would you ever share it. We'd sure appreciate it. Thanks for all your insight?

My experience is the same as Fey. For me what set off anxiety this week was having a margarita, just one. The next day I didn't eat breakfast and almost passed out driving. Not sure about that, but am making sure to eat something and am going to stay away from the margaritas. Nothing is worth the price of anxiety. It is worse than the bowel issues.

It is a process for family to learn to care. Do all the cooking if he just doesn't get it. See if you can find another celiac to explain it to him. Sometimes family members just can't take direction from family members. Believe me, I know.

How do you make pho?

I was misdiagnosed for 3 months as Ic before my dh's best friend helped us discover I had celiac and not ic. Please join the ic network. They are kind and helpful, just like here.

I decided I didn't want to make 2 dinners. I have the family eat gluten free dinner. When we all do it, it is easy. Perhaps have the whole family eat a certain way for a time. That will help.

My husband gets that way when he has a cold. The more women I talk to, it is common for their man to act that way. It is not the gluten. They feel ill and they want to take it out on someone. That is what I think.

I don't think there is a web site. Go for it since you are a dietitian and then let us know where you will post it.

Find out if there other kids in his class with a food issue. My son has one kid with a tree nut allergy, another with a milk allergy. He is highly sensitive to chocolate and red dye. He was tested for celiac but didn't test positive. But if there are some others with eating issues, your son wont feel as alone.

My husband brought an article home from a registered diatitian that said that xanthan gum gould give the d. I can eat bread with it. Just no clue about the bisquick.
-
Has anyone had trouble with it? Just checking. I've heard good things. I had one muffin from it and was ok. I react terribly to Bisqick and Arrowmills. So am leary of prepackaged stuff. Thanks so much.
-
Bisquick makes me sick. Also Arrowmills. I made pancakes from them today and got super sick. I wonder if it was the xanthum gum. But I'm fine with it in my bread. So maybe it is the amount. Maybe someone could make a list at the end of the post of all the substitutions that work. Yes please what baking mixes or flower mixes do not have the gums already added? What should I buy to be safe with out the gums?
-
How about aliminating food with xanthum gum. That could be it. I know I get sick when I eat bisquick gluten free. I just get sick and have to go all morning, so something is wrong.I you figure out what it is soon.Maybe do the brat diet and add one thing back per day and see what happens.
