My son reacts to red dye and chocolate so eliminate those. Also it could be the age. For years I thought my daughter was special needs because she was so mean and strong willed. It was just her. Now she is six and better.

I've been through so much the last 6 months medically. I have a friend that keeps grilling me to help in my kid's class. She thinks I'm not doing my part and hinting at it. Not sure what to do? Truey going to tell her where to go, just drives me nuts.

One thing I learned today after calling Safeway about some bacon is that you must be firm on the phone. It really doesn't matter if they think you are rude. The person said "Yes I think that is gluten free". I said "You must be sure now please check. I have to know for sure. I'm calling for your store and I have to know." The Safeway store told me to call corporate because they could not tell me. So whenever you call a company, be firm and tell them why you need to know and ask them a second time if they are sure. I think so doesn't cut it!
I hope your little one is ok. Lots of good points said.

I was find the first day, but ate the left overs last night. And today I feel real sick. Sick enough to stay home freom the Halloween parade at school. They used preshredded cheese. I was a little worried about that. I also rarely eat pizza, so maybe that is it too. I rarely eat onions and they put onions on. What do I do now to get better? Should I take imodium or let nature work? We went to Figaros in Talent and Stand Stone in Ashland. Both yummy. But I hate being sick after trying so hard to eat gluten free.

Thanks a bunch. I'm going to try to get this done for them.

Blue diamond cheese flavored crackers are yummy. My kids love em. Maybe close to gold fish. They look like chips.

That is great. Please share what turducken is. Sorry I don't know. Sounds good.

Please let me knoe if you know of anything. Me and their coach are gluten free.

Read the teen age stories on gig.net. That will convince you. Those are pretty moving stories!

Where we live there 2 public home school options where the kids can home school and a tiny bit of public school all paid for with public school funding, pretty cool. Also we have one charter school that is not allowed to do any holidays at all. Bet they do less food. Check out you options.

I'll need a few more. Anything unusual? My family likes crawdads on Thanksgiving, right out of the Sacramento River. The also eat elk and duck and mountain gaot.

Good ideas so far.

I told the mom daughter team I'd help them with their magazine on gluten.net. Can you all help me with a list of yummy things to eat for Thanksgiving that are gluten free please. She's offered to have the kids at my kids' school help her and I need your help. We need to make a word search. Can you ask your kids to help you come up with a list of yummy gluten free things that could be put into a word search. This could be fun. Hope some of you can help me. Ex. pumpkin pie

Just trying to understand. Does Skylark think that xanthumgum could be an allergen to Celiacs? I wonder that with baking flour, gluten free for myself.
-
I did not know that. Thanks for teaching me.

All I know is I hate being sick. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm sure your daughter doesn't want you sick. If gluten free makes you sick, don't do it. There are other ways to help your daughter. You tried and it didn't work. We do a gluten free dinner. That is what has worked for us. Maybe try that. As you said, she's gone all day. So what's the point other than that.

Yes the second, we don't need any legal trouble. Someone commenting on his article was endorsing it.

Has anyone seen this? I was researching Dr. Alessio Fasano's articles and found this under an article that was commenting on his article. It looks pretty interesting. Has anyone tried it? I am super curious. Let's learn about this. I'll be interested to see what others think.

Glad you like it. Spread the word how cool it is!

Glad it is of help to you. I think the message here is for adults almost more than kids. I'm thinking of getting involved in GIG's restaurant Awareness program. This would be a splendid way to teach adults in the restaurant industry what life is like for the celiac population. Don't you think?

Grated cheese is dusted with flour and not declared because it is on, not in the cheese. That can be a tricky one. So that is one way they can get around declaring wheat in something.

I thought diet coke had malt in it and that has gluten or was it the carmel color. I think aspertame gives me the runs and I don't need more of that. Am I wrong about the first 2?
I want all the baking recipes. Please post.

I like the Kan Do bars. (spelling) They are so good. Made for kids, but love em.

I miss diet coke. I now drink gator aide. I miss angel food cake. Now I eat Safeway's gluten free cake or a really good bakery's cake. But super $$,so has to be a special occation.
Still Symptomatic After 6 Months Of gluten-free Diet?

What helped me was eating for IBS combined with eating gluten free. I started this because I was misdiagnosed for 3 months with interstistial stistitis. The founder of the ic network has ibs and I learned all about it. But when they realized I had celiac disease, I combined eating for IBS and I was able to get it under control. There are many good books out there. Hope this may help. For instance, eat some bread with a salad.
Cut out caffiated drinks. Cut way back on fats. Eat several small meals during the day. No big meals!
