  1. Thank you SOOO much for all the replies! This is so exciting!

And yes, jerseyangel we have the EXACT same hair types....too cool (well, not when there is humidity involved, HA).

I really appreciate the suggestions as I was getting quite distraught (i'm anal about my hair, I admit it) about what products I could use that were safe!

Hope everyone has a good hair day! :P

  2. I've been working hard to make sure I'm using safe shampoos, conditioners, etc.

I've always used AVEDA but so many of their products contain wheat or rye or barley, etc. that obviously it doesn't leave me w/ many options to choose from their product line anymore.

Does anyone have any safe recommendations for the following????

    shampoo

    deep conditioning treatment

    daily leave in conditioner

gel (for when I wear it curly)

straightening product (for when I blow dry it straight)

  3. Thanks everyone who has posted.

I too have always done the points plan and that's what i'm starting out with b/c I'm familiar w/ it and blah, blah. Guess we'll see how it plays out and how challenging it will be with gluten-free foods. I think the hard part will be balancing the gluten-free foods that I enjoy b/c they are so high in points (i.e. bread, homemade blueberry muffins, banana bread, etc.).

  4. Okay, I did it! I joined WW today! Anybody have any feedback on which plan they think works the best for us as celiacs (points plan or core plan)???

Any good gluten-free food finds that work well w/ WW?? I already know and have accepted that gluten-free bread is a killer b/c of the points per slice. HAHA!

  5. I went to Vegas just recently. I packed what I could but PF Cheng's saved me!!! They were very in the know about celiac and the importance of making sure everything was right everytime I ordered from there. Good luck!!

  6. My experience w/ Raleigh drs has been horrible. I saw 2 different drs in Raleigh, both of whom I fired.

I then started seeing a dr in Wilson (just outside of Raleigh). He seems pretty knowledgeable about the disease. E-mail me at turtledupree@hotmail.com if you want his contact info. Also, check w/ UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital. Someone told me there is a dr there but i'm not sure if he's strictly for kids or adults or both or what. I have recently moved from the Raleigh area which is why I didn't bother following up w/ UNC myself. Sorry I don't have better info for you...hang in there...
