  1. Okay....that's it! It's summer, it's hot and i'd really like to be able to crack open a cold beer!

I've concluded that we, as celiacs, need a gluten-free Beer Campaign or something to see about getting these beer companies to make gluten-free beer more accessible. And it would be a dream to have someone come up w/ a beer that tastes similiar to a good ol' American Beer (Bud, Coors, Miller, etc.).

I have not been able to find gluten-free beer ANYWHERE and any website we can order it from is WAY outta my budget. Geez, by the time you pay for the beer and the shipping costs one would have to dip into their retirement to cover the costs.

Is anyone else as frustrated about this as I am??

  2. Thank you dear. Of course I don't have the potato starch and the thought of having to go back to the store PAINS me...SO I guess since I have the Gluten Free Pantry cookie mix i'll just use that this time around and do the Toll House one the next time....

I tell ya, gluten-free baking gives me indigestion at times b/c it never fails, I get all ready to turn my kitchen into a gluten-free bakehouse like a good lil Turtle & it always seems i'm missing just one ingredient! HAH!

  3. I think you're on to something jerseyangel...i've had headaches and some neck/shoulder pain but just associated it with other things but after reading more about TMJ and reading your post and the others it's all coming together now...

I can't get a break...earlier in the week I was having my cervix handed to me and now this...AGH!!!

Somehow, someway I WILL put down a gluten-free pizza tonight to make me feel better. HAHA!

  4. I just talked to my dentist friend and he mentioned TMJ as well. He told me to put a hot compress on it for 20-30 min off and on all day today and then see where that leaves me. I just moved so I don't have a new dentist yet (go figure) so i'll have to hope for the best and then locate someone here to see....

  5. When I went to bed last night I had a slight pain in my jaw. I didn't really think much about it, just thought it would go away. I woke up several times in the night and the pain had increased. It doesn't hurt when I brush my teeth (my teeth are not sensitve or anything like that). It all seems to be in the jaw. If I open my mouth wide it hurts, if I eat it hurts, if I move my face/jaw around it hurts....anyone have any ideas what on earth this could be???

  6. Anyone have any feedback about cruises and meeting gluten-free needs??? Or feedback about a cruise/cruiseline you've been on that met the gluten-free needs, etc.

We're considering going on one b/c we can get a great rate through the military, but I want to first get as much info and feedback before making a decision. It's not like there will be a PF Cheng's on board. HAHA!

    Thanks!

  7. I'm going to Las Vegas soon and usually when we go somewhere we always book a place that has a kitchenette. HOWEVER, my other half is in the military and the military is putting us up and it does not have a kitchenette. We're trying to confirm if it even has a fridge and/or a microwave.

So...I was wondering if anyone is from the area or has vacationed in Vegas and if anyone has any gluten-free tips or knows of places to eat that are gluten-free, etc. I'm going to call the hotel and see what I can find out including if their restaurants can do anything for me, etc. If not, I guess I'll eat gluten-free ceral bars and drink a bunch of bacardi rum drinks the entire time i'm there. HAHA!!!

    Thanks for any input!
