Yeah!!!!!!! He'll be home for the holidays!!!!!!!!! You know, it's kind of goofy, I guess, but every time I see a service-person whether in fatigues or uniform, I thank them. Some of my friends look at me like I'm nuts, but I kind of don't care. They deserve our thanks. And our prayers. I'm so glad your husband gets to be home this year. Tell him I said "thank you. VERY much." My cousin's son (he's still my "baby-boy"!) is in Iraq right now. Don't think he'll get to come home this year. Last year, he told them that he wanted leave at Thanksgiving so that he could go to my mother's for her huge dinner. It's so weird to hear such a young sounding request coming from this person who has grown into such a fine man. It was great.
Also, even though I don't HAVE one, I think Labs are fantastic dogs! They're smart, loyal, friendly, goofy and very, very snuggly! My sister had one, and my mom taught it as a puppy to give hugs! It was so funny.
Sending all kinds of good wishes your way for a fantastic holiday. I'm so happy for you.
Love & Hugs,
Lynne
I PM'd you!!!
Oops, didn't mean for that reply above to be so huge! Oh well!!

When you talk to Lynne again, let her know we're thinking of her and wishing her to feel better soon!

Thanks everyone!!!
You guys are too kind!
I appreciate all the kind words about my efforts to support our troops! Our men and women are doing great things over there. And like you said almostnrn, a simple letter can make a soldier's day. Kudos to your hubby for reaching the 20 yr mark. WOW, that's awesome!!! My other half has been in for 15 years and has been deployed 3x already getting ready for a 4th sometime in 07'. This year is really exciting for us b/c it's the first time in 3 years he's getting to spend the holidays at home!!
Okay enough sap for one post! Thanks again girls and glad you enjoyed the site. It's fun to play around with and a great way to keep my family and friends in the loop.

Armetta,
I'd like to help you out, but I don't really know much about Lynne other than the great advice and great sense of humour and optimism she displays on the boards despite her poor health. How can I help? Is a brief note about how her humour and optimism shines through enough?
That is perfect!!! Just write a brief note about everything you described above and get it to Armetta!!

Okay back to stickers on fruit!!!

I searched this but "corn" kept coming up ......
I need some help w/ Vanilla Extract. Is pure and imitation BOTH safe or what? Is it just certain kinds that are safe?? Yep, i'm confused about this!
I have a thing of Great Value PURE vanilla extract and I have a thing of McCormick's IMITATION vanilla extract. Just curious is I can use both, one and not the other or neither of them.
Thanks in advanced to anyone out there with MEGA baking knowledge!

But you have to keep your chin up and remember that it could be worse....just take one day at a time and everything will fall into place....if you need my help w/ moving or whatever, e-mail me...or if it would make you feel better i'll take you for french fries at the new Red Robin to cheer you up!!! Last I heard they were safe.....
Hang in there and remember you are NOT alone.....we all have our bad days. Tomorrow is a new day!!!

Yes, you are correct! The meetings are usually on Mondays at Nine Richland Medical Park(??))!
We have just had a hard time getting to the meetings due to other committments, being glutened, etc. Best of luck to you and let us know if we can help.
Other places to eat at:
Red Bowl
Carraba's
Bonefish Grill
Outback (although double check with them to make sure they make your meal gluten-free)
Red Robin (should be opening soon at Sandhills)

Okay so initially our plans were to go see "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" at the outdoor amphitheatre, however we didn't realize it was "CASH ONLY"....Whoops!!!
So after standing in the parking lot trying to come up with a back up plan, we decided to head to Earthfare to get a gluten-free Pizza so we could eat pizza and watch whatever cheesy scary movie was on TV. Well, get this....Earthfare was giving out FREE gluten-free Envirokidz Cereal Bars as "trick or treat". I am not gonna lie...
I was like a kid again right there in the front of Earthfare cashing in on the BEST treat ever! And YES I took TWO....
Moral of the story: I had a GREAT gluten-free Halloween!! I hope you did too!!
