ARCHIVED Craft Foam Shapes
Kasey'sMom posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, My dd's class is doing several foam craft kits from Oriental Trading Company. I was wondering anyone knows if the adhesive on the craft foam shapes are gluten-free. Also, they are doing some crafts with non-sticky craft shapes and for those items they are using SmArt Foam, Foam Glue from Creative Hands. I've contacted the company but I haven... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Cruise
Kasey'sMom replied to Timber4est's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
We're interested in going on a cruise but it also depends on the depends on where the cruise port is. We're going to be cruising on RCCL out of FL this fall beacuse there's a big price difference. I'll be sure and post how our trip goes. -
You have no idea how much you've helped. I've been dying to talk first hand with someone's who's been with children. I'm getting really excited after reading your posts!! Our TA sent our gluten free request so I'm hoping they will have our information when we get there. I ended up faxing it again this week to be on the safe side. Did you pack the snacks...

Thanks! I'm so glad that gluten-free bread can be requested at other meals. My dd should be content, she loves bread! This is her first cruise and she has celiac disease as well. I'm concerned about the ports to. I think we may do beach days at most of the ports, plus it should save some $$. I can just see us sick on a bus traveling around Mexico...

celiacgirls; We're going on Royal Carribean this fall and we haven't cruised since DX. I'm so glad to hear that you did well. Did you pre-order breakfast and lunch as well as dinner? Anyone other tips on food would be great! Thanks

Kasey'sMom replied to Kasey'sMom's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Sounds great! We're going on a Sunday evening and just staying one night so I should be in great shape. We're not too far from Asheville and I'd love to take another quick trip back to Asheville. We have'nt been there in a couple of years and I've heard they have another health food store or two. I'd really like to go to the Biltmore and I'll definately check... -
ARCHIVED Harrah's Cherokee, Nc
Kasey'sMom replied to Kasey'sMom's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
moving on, Thanks so much for your help! I tried contacting them but I haven't gotten a response yet. I didn't realize there was a Wendy's in the area. Breakfast does seem like the biggest challenge when traveling, doesn't it? I think bringing some fruit, bars and Kinnikinnick dounuts should work great. I'm glad to know there's a refrigerator! ... -
I'm going to Harrah's and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with a gluten free diet at the resort? Thanks!

blanchemae, This is the auto-response..... I have a relative that just got back from RCCL and they were extremlly accomadating with her gluten-free diet. From what I can tell the fruits station is seperate in the buffet area from the breads etc. I don't know if you've tried any of the Annie's gluten-free dressings but some of them you can get... -

Uh-no! I've been using the BE for many years and the last couple of months I've used the BE Big-Tease and I didn't realize it wasn't gluten free. Thanks for the info. I've just started using some BeautiControl products. They maintain a gluten free product list as well. -
ARCHIVED Goint On Vacation To Florida And The Smokeys And Looking For
Kasey'sMom replied to marja's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
We have Season passes to Dollywood and take day trips to the area. We usually pack our food for the day but there is an Outback there. I haven't been to this store but I did a search on co-op's and found this grocery store in Gatlinburg. You might contact them to see what they have available. Who knows maybe they can order things for you. Open Original... -

We're booked on royal carb. in Sept. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous to. We were cruisers prior to celiac disease as well. My travel agent requested the gluten-free diet for us and we got a automated reply about what foods to bring. Let me know if you want me to send it to you. Are you a Crown & Anchor member? You can go to the the C &... -

I use a crystal deodorant and I really like it! -
Hi Beverly, The first symptoms we saw with my dd was the re-occurant diaper rash. The rash worsened when she was 2 1/2. We took her to 3 dermatologist including a ped. derma Dr. She was on numerious steroid creams and anti-fungals. We also did the candida diet for awhile. Unfortunatly, the creams would ease the pain for a couple of days and then the rash...

ARCHIVED Bday Parties

We do the cupcake thing as well. I usually make a big batch and ice them. I flash freeze the cupcakes and put them in freezers bags. They defrost really well and are a lifesaver to have in a pinch. I freeze cookies, brownies and pie slices as well. I've found that having a few things made ahead of time help with my strees factor. Most of the time I don... -
ARCHIVED Pamela's Gluten Free Bread Mix
Kasey'sMom replied to suziew's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I bake my rolls at 325 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top. But I'm using a convection oven. If I were baking in a regular oven I would bake them at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes. I have noticed they continue to bake & set up some as they cool. I thought they might be a little gooey but as they cooled they were perfect. Sometimes... -
ARCHIVED Pamela's Gluten Free Bread Mix
Kasey'sMom replied to suziew's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Kay, these are great ideas. I did the recipe just as it is on the bag. My aunt likes to do cinnamon and raisin bread using the dough. I have a half dome silicon pan that works well for my buns. I make sure not to pack the dough down in them so their nice and airy. I take water on a knife and smooth the top of the dough. The buns don't look... -

ARCHIVED Vance's Darifree Fake Milk
Kasey'sMom replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My dd is allergic to soy milk and almond milk. I'm not a milk drinker but my dd will drink Vance's by the glass. I can even dilute it some and she enjoys it. I really like being able to control the consitancy of the milk. We do coconut milk, rice milk and Vance's. I use them all and rotate them as I need. I haven't got to try to the Vance's ice cream... -
ARCHIVED Vance's Darifree Fake Milk
Kasey'sMom replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
That's so nice of you! My dd likes it on her cereal. It's also good in blended, iced coffee recipes. I also use Vance's for my soups such as potato, cream of broccoli, gluten-free cream of mushroom etc. I also like it as a cream base for pasta dishes. I can use the powder with oil, vinegar, and spices to make creamy vinegrette dressings. Here recently... -

ARCHIVED Ballpark/picnic Snacks
Kasey'sMom replied to Mo92109's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I like to make Pamela's Amazing Bread into rolls. I take a roast and put into the crockpot the night before on low. I slice the roast really thin and put it on the rolls. You could also use gluten-free sandwich meats etc. You could even get Kinnikinnick bread to make these. I usually pop our own popcorn because of dairy and put it in a zip lock bag...
