  1. Cooper's Hawk is a place we frequent often when we are in Orlando.
  2. Pins and needles and neuropathy can also be a sign of low B-12. Have you had your vitamin levels checked?
  3. I have been to Aruba 3 times for a least 9 days each time. The last two times I was gluten free. Although I never did all inclusive and can not comment on that, I have never had any trouble eating on the island and have never gotten sick. I do take some things with me as everything in the grocery store is written in Dutch so I can't always read ingredients...
  4. I don't know that I have a lot to offer, but wanted to address the shared household. I have successfully shared with gluten eaters for 9 or 10 years now. It is very possibly but precautions have to be taken. Have you read the newbie101 section it will give you a lot of good advice. Do you have your own separate condiments (I have bright tape on mine...
  5. Sorry, I didn't see this until today. I will share it so you have it for future functions 1 Tub of Frozen Strawberries 1 small container of cool whip (or whipping cream if you prefer to make your own) 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 Large Box Strawberry Jello Defrost Strawberries and separate juice from the berries. Make Jello with the...
  6. I have the same issue, gained about 15-20 pounds. People love to tell me that it is all the processed gluten free food, but the only processed food I eat is 2-4 pieces of gluten free bread a week. Here is my opinion of why this happens, or at least for myself. When I was consuming gluten I was so sick that I never made it through a meal before I hit...
  7. Rotisserie Chicken Ham Green Bean Casserole Deviled Eggs Potato Salad Spinach apple salad with this amazing dressing Strawberry Dessert The only thing we will have that will not be gluten free is Mac n cheese. Because we make it for the kids and we use a old recipe and I don't care if I don't have it, we just continue...
  8. It has been 4 years since I was there, but Blue Heaven was great, Satiago's Bodega is a Tapa's place, I ate successfully there, but it wasn't my thing, super busy and crowded and I learned I wasn't a Tapa fan. The best meal I had in Key West and we actually went twice was at the Southernmost Beach Café.
  9. I used mine for the first three years I was diagnosed. I used it for several reason, one it protects me legally from a company letting me go if I exceed my sick/personal time off. Some companies even have a max of unpaid time you can take, but the FMLA allows me to use that as well and not be affected. I didn't have a manager that was treating me bad...
  10. Vanicream works great, they have a Vanicream Light as well. I like the regular one best as it goes on nice and thick and isn't oily, it is what my dermatologist recommended years ago and at that time you needed the pharmacy to order it for you. I find it at Target and CVS. My DH did not fully clear until I also changed out all my body products to gluten...
  11. A lady I work with just discovered the same thing. She too was gluten free but continued to be sick, then a year or so ago nausea was added to her symptoms and a new doctor ran genetic testing and found the same thing. She is doing very well on her new diet and has added some gluten in but very little because she still feels better without it in her diet...
  12. Sorry I never came back and replied. We had a very successful cruise. I never did get to try the deli station, and the manager was extremely helpful showing me items that were safe and getting me set up for the first night to insure I had gluten free dinner. I ate breakfast in the main dining area several days, but some days it was just impossible to...
  13. Thank you so much! This information will really help. We just returned from a very successful week in Branson MO. But restaurants are easy to research, cruising is different. I am excited. I will report back on the sandwich station after I return.
  14. Thank you for taking the time to post this, I leave on Carnival Valor in 2 weeks, and never would have thought about the deli or the Lido deck buffet. Awesome info and now I know to ask for a manager for the buffet. What did you do the first night? Everything I see online and speaking with Carnival they just tell me to let them know the first night...
  15. Karen - it didn't get mushy or anything, which did surprise me, but because the manwich is wet the egg mixture didn't "flow" between everything it really sat on top more like a sheppard's pie. And of course it cooked more souffle like which was only "ok" on a manwich. We will be sure to try it closer to the original recipe next time, I am sure we will...
  16. Last night we tried the "Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie" only I used Mamwich with the hamburger meat, it was "Ok". I will admit i was not sure if the top would come out more bread like or quiche like so I knew this was a risk. I wouldn't make it again with Mamwhich but will be trying it from the original recipte soom. I also made the Cinnamon...
  17. I am more of a stalker on this website and don't contribute much, but you guys are killing me with all the great foods you make. I am going to have to be more adventerous! Last night we had Chili and I made Creme Brulee' in the Crockpot the day before and just melted the sugar last night before consuming...it was awesome!!!
  18. I have been gluten free just over a year and have several other autoimmune diseases as well, but about 3 months ago I had terrible issues with sciatic, I went to a chiroprator and added stretches and even was haveing deep tissue massage. I was getting very little if any relief, but my chiro is the lead dr on a Fibromyalga board so he had a lot of experience...
  19. Mango's, Barefoot, Texus de Brazil. Kitchen has emailed me and will accommodate gluten-free. I understand arepas is corn flour and makes a great sandwich. If you think of ANYTHING, please let me know. Thanks again.

Sounds like you had an awesome time.

  20. Thank you, I really appreciate you suggestions. We are going 2 weeks in September, we also rented a condo in Divi Golf looking forward to the private roof top with hot tub and BBQ. Madame Jeannete's and Yemange "(understand they give you gluten-free bread w/ your meal) are on my list. I'm planning on 1/2 in and 1/2 out on evening meals. Also looking into Linda's (gluten-free pancake and pizza)...

  21. Madame Jeanette's was great, I emailed them because I wasn interested in a specific meal, it was the best I had on the island. My hubby prefered Gianni's, they had gluten free pasta, also Yamanja Grill had a gluten free menu and did well, the food was great too.

Coke is bottled on the island with their water and cane sugar and the coke secret mix, so it was safe and better...

  23. Cathey,

We had a wonderful time in Aruba, we were there 8 days and did not prepare anything in our room, I did get some cc one day, my fault I went on assumption and didn't ask enough questions.

We stayed at Divi Golf in a condo, we took crunchmaster crackers, and bridgeford peperoni in our luggage along with some kind bars & small bags of chip, bought cheese and other ...

  25. Just curious, how was your vacation to Aruba? DH and I are booked for 2 weeks September. My first trip gluten-free as you. Have a condo reserved so plan on many meals in house. Where did you stay and where did you eat out and what do you recommend? Hope it was a very enjoyable and food safe vacation.

    Thank you for your tips.
