  1. Wow! I am certainly glad that you have been able to get them all tested! You did the right thing.
  2. I agree with Karen that it's most likely an allergic reaction. I would bet it's the scent. However, all fabric softeners contain some oil so it could be that.
  3. Get down off that ledge! NOW! Settle down. It will be okay. You have time. Why don't you pick one cabinet or shelf in a cabinet & put all the gluten containing food in there. So go through each cabinet, one by one, & read ingredient labels. Take a magic marker & write gluten-free on all the stuff that does not contain gluten. In a different...
  4. Heinz catsup does not have gluten in it!
  5. Here is the diet: Anything not in the column "include" is not supposed to be eaten. I could not use the gluten-free supplemental formulas b/c they all contain carrageenan which makes my dh rash go nuts as it is high in iodine. I also could not drink the Gatorade & I do not know why - call it an "other food intolerance". I did drink instant...
  6. I have thought this kind of thing also. Who knows? We may be correct. There is more info. here: http://www.todaysdietitian.com/newarchives/0816p14.shtml And this is very good to watch NO, NO, NO! Ditch the oats!!!!! Many of us with dh can not tolerate even purity protocol grown oats. My advice would be to steer clear...
  7. Google the Fasano Gluten Cross Contamination Elimination diet. I have been gluten-free for 6 years. My dh did not fully resolve until I went on the Fasano diet. The doc who told you a dh biopsy would be valid is full of baloney. At the very worst, you are super gluten light & that won't get it for a dh biopsy. The gluten challenge for a dh biopsy...
  8. I agree. I would also wait & then do a gluten challenge later.
  9. Oh golly, another parent going through a nightmare with a doc who seems to be let's just say "less than informed". I agree with cyclinglady. Get copies of all labs & bloods, post them please & get a second opinion pronto. Meanwhile cut the dairy out. And mom...... {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}
  10. Why in the world are you discounting the positive tTG-IgG? That is positive. it only takes 1 positive to move to an endoscopic biopsy. The finding of tTG IgG antibodies may indicate a diagnosis of celiac disease, particularly in individuals who are IgA deficient. For individuals with moderately to strongly positive results, a diagnosis of celiac disease...
  11. I understand! IMHO, if she can do the biopsy that would be about the most perfect situation you could have. You're comfortable with her I think & that will make things much better for you all the way around. Another thing..... Scratching can easily destroy that pattern the lab will be looking for so pick a place you haven't scratched at.
  12. I had a punch biopsy on my back once & I did not find it really painful. I did feel it & it felt like a pressure & a pinch but I don't recall even flinching. I know I didn't grit my teeth or grimace & I held perfectly still. Here's a link of how it's properly done: https://celiac.org/celiac-disease/understanding-celiac-disease-...
  13. Yeh, it looks like you just got the basic screening. Be aware, like raven said -- 60% of us with dh test negative on the blood work then there's the fact that you haven't been eating gluten every single day for 12 weeks soooooooo odds for you are slim. Could you ask for an endoscopy? The gluten challenge time on that is 2 weeks. OR can you get a dh biopsy...
  14. Oh you poor thing!!!! My heart goes out to you. It's obvious you have a problem with gluten. See if you can get tested right away -- you might just turn up positive but really, I think you've proven beyond any doubt that you should not be eating gluten at all. Those are not the celiac serum tests I'm sorry to say. This is the current full serum...
  15. From what I am seeing, this is a test that costs $199 to $399 & you can go up to $599 for a package deal, by a company called Vibrant America which is somehow also connected to Vibrant Wellness. Seems like a Dr. () Joseph Debe pushes it. He is not a medical doctor at all; instead he is a nutritionist calling himself Dr.
  16. The Jimmy Dean products that are gluten free will actually say GLUTEN FREE on them. If they don't say gluten free on them then the company says they are not gluten free. ♂ Response from Jimmy Dean: Beth ...
  17. Jamie, Have you tried bone broth? Home made bone broth that is. It is extremely easy on the gut, quite healing, unbelievably nourishing. Check out these two articles: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  18. If you wash that microwave inside & out with soap & water, there won't be any problem using it. If gluten is still being used in it, then make sure you cover whatever gluten-free stuff you put in it. You DO need a new toaster though.
  19. Are Blue Diamond products "gluten free?" Most of our products do not contain ingredients derived from wheat or other gluten grains. The following Blue Diamond products contain gluten: Jordan Almonds Wasabi & Soy Sauce Flavored Almonds Do you use "soy" in your products? ...
  20. Just to let you know. This thread is really old, it's from 2010. None of those people are still here.
  21. Kraft mini marshmallows or even the big ones are fine. Kraft is a very trusted company so you can always feel safe with them. They will disclose any gluten ingredients in no uncertain terms. Same with UniLever.
  22. Didn't help me with dh either.
  23. Fluocinonide Cream or ointment 0.05% by prescription only. Works very well!
