  1. I take it you have been gluten free since the test in 2013?
  2. Yes! Sweat, heat & humidity drove me crazy with aggravating the dh! DH likes to attack pressure points too. Like AWOL said, waistbands & such. I had to get boy shorts type underwear that were seamless ( I like all cotton). they still had a little seam on one side that ran for about 2". That 2" killed me so I figured out that if I wore them inside...
  3. Be forewarned & print this article out & take it to the doc with you. Many people with DH have no digestive symptoms and only about 40% of them have the positive blood tests (serology) for celiac disease. However, they almost always have the same, gluten-dependent intestinal damage as those with the more common symptoms of celiac disease. From...
  4. Didn't help me with dh either.
  5. Fluocinonide Cream or ointment 0.05% by prescription only. Works very well!
  6. Gosh, super hard to say from a picture but really, knowing your situation & how careful you've been & how long you've been gluten free, I would say it's not dh & your test numbers steadily going down. I really think it's probably just like you said. Get that lotion out & slather it on. Dry skin can be very itchy. Cold weather can do lots of...
  7. It has a mind of it's own. It might appear & last weeks & then disappear for a week or for months on end. It might appear & last months on end & then disappear for weeks. One day it will not go away at all if it is dh. DH can come & go whether you are eating gluten or not eating gluten. The antibodies sit under the skin like tiny...
  8. I am a very super sensitive celiac and my hubs is a "regular" celiac. We've been eating Honeysuckle White gluten free turkey for years. Haven't had a single problem with them.
  9. Are these shelled or in the shell? Would you please share the sources? I found a gluten-free, peanut free, almond, almond flour & almond meal @ Barney Butter!
  10. It only takes on positive on the celiac serum panel to move to an endoscopic biopsy. A positive is a positive, even if it's 1/2 point above the normal range. Do not dwell on your 41 number. You have so many highs that are shockingly high that barring wearing a white coat & having a medical degree hanging on the wall; we would say you have celiac.
  11. You can't just ask if it's gluten free. Eating out is full of landmines. I'm sure you've been getting cross contaminated. You need to read the Newbie 101. It's of paramount inportance that you don't get glutened or cc'd!
  12. An autoimmune disease can occur when the body's immune system mistakenly perceives a nonthreatening substance. In the case of people with celiac disease, gluten (a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and oats) is seen as a foreign invader and is attacked by the immune system. This immune system response in celiac disease also involves the production of antibodies...
  13. You need to get copies of your medical records & especially of the celiac blood tests. Are you sure the correct tests were done? This is why you need to get those records. Here is the current FULL celiac serum panel: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Deamidated Gliadin...
  14. Don't go gluten free until you find out if they want you to get an endoscopy which they should schedule. Eat gluten every single day until the endoscopy is done.
  15. From the Chicago Celiac Disease Center which is one of the premier celiac disease research & treatment centers in the world: Are you scheduled for a biopsy? Are you eating gluten? Any changes in your diet can affect the accuracy of your biopsy results. It is necessary for you to be eating gluten every day...
  16. He only did 2 of the full panel & you are positive on one of them, the DGP IgG. It only takes one positive to move on to an endoscopy. Here's the full celiac serum panel: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) IgA and IgG Total...
  17. That's about the most definitive positive across the board that I've ever seen. You're way positive on every one. Keep eating gluten every single day until the endoscopy! You don't have to eat a ton, 1 or 2 slices of gluten bread per day will do it. Orrrrrrrrrrr you could take this time to pig out on all of your favorite gluten foods to say goodbye to them...
  18. 3 is GOOD! Better than 4. So now you are in the normal range. Good work girl!!!! Now celebrate. I'm so happy for you!
  19. We have also noticed wait staff carrying glasses or coffee cups 3 or 4 at the time by putting a finger down inside each one & then grasping them altogether. This just after picking up dirty dishes from other tables. Certainly weren't back in the kitchen long enough to wash their hands before grabbing the glasses or cups. We used to, before celiac, try...
  20. Nuts are high in protein so if you can eat them, then go for it. You may not be able to tolerate whole nuts. I found I can't eat almonds but I am fine with almond meal. Dried beans are great sources of protein as well. How about making re-fried beans from dried pinto beans? I get my almond flour from Barney Butter since I have an intolerance to peanuts...
  21. Long before celiac diagnosis, my husband & I both were freaky about eating out. I can't even tell you how many times we got glasses or coffee cups that had lipstick on them, silverware that had food particles dried & stuck on, same thing with plates. The dishwashers don't do all that good a job of cleaning from what I've seen. For us, it took a lot...
  22. I'm just thrilled to hear how much better you're feeling now Fbmb!!! I know at first there, it was a bit rocky. You sound so much more relaxed now and much more sure of the diet. Wonderful news! I have not a worry in the world that your test will come back in normal range. You were only 1 point over last time the test was done. I know you are very careful...
  23. cycling lady has some great thoughts there! The things that stood out to me in your original post, were the gas station coffee pots & eating off the plates & using the silverware in the college dining area. This are things I would never consider doing & I am super sensitive. I don't trust anyone but myself! Well, I would trust cycling lady if...
