  1. You're welcome. I love sorbet and make my own all the time in the summer. My favorite is Lime.

A friend in Calgary called me last night. He said there is a farmers market there that has homemade Chicken pot pies, gluten-free. He said they are so delicious and the best he has ever had. They are now starting to sell them in some grocery stores.

Do you know the name of the Chicken pot pies? I will keep an eye out for them.

  2. I have been to the Kinnikinnick store twice to get bread and hamburger buns and I find the bread slices quite a bit bigger than Udis and the loafs are also much bigger. Its the only bread I will eat now. I have to take the city bus quite a ways but its worth it. I also grabbed a few pizza buns. It was a very soft, fresh cinnamon bun with pizza sauce. I havent had anything that good since going gluten free.

  3. Er....no. I guess you missed the board member posting about following a so-called "detox" procedure and the resulting kidney damage. There is no harm in taking psyllium but the whole idea of colon cleansing is unnecessary and potentially dangerous.

I know bentonite clay is much-loved by the alternative health community, but it's a double-edged sword. It adsorbs metals, some of which are toxins but others of which are essential nutrients. Bentonite has never been studied for long-term safety.

Thanks for letting me know. I had no idea. Im so new to this, I wont just jump into it before I do much more searching.

  4. I hope you get to the market and enjoy the sausages as much as we do. Irvine also supplies pork for a few of the top restaurants in Edmonton. Cumberlands are our favourites followed by the brats. We also buy back bacon and ham from him.

At the market there is a gluten-free baking vendor! They sell lots of yummy gluten-free treats. The market is definitely worth going to for its beautiful vegetables (market gardens during the winter) and herbs. It is huge and can take a good hour or two to go through.

Every time you leave a post im learning more and more about everything lol. Thanks a lot!

  5. I haven't eaten those sausages but if you are having trouble finding some, you are in luck! Do you ever go to the Strathcona Market Saturdays? If so, go to the Irvine Farms booth - all their sausages and stuff are gluten free and are amazing. We love them so much we actually drive three hours to get them. The producer is from northern England and is making his famous Cumberland sausages here. They taste exactly like those we've had in England. If you go to his website they are also available at a couple of stores in town.

I know of the Market. I have never been there. I just looked up the website. Sounds awesome "No wheat, dairy, nuts, eggs or soy is used in any of our products" Thanks a lot for letting me know. I will for sure check it out sometime soon.

@ sa1937: I found that site too. Im not sure if its the same or not. I cant find the product on the site. Thanks for the reply.
