You can get Freybes smokies if thats your thing. Not the most healthy choice but I grab a few and throw them in the mic when I dont feel like cooking.
-
I am pretty bad for eating alot of junk too. I am really skinny and cant gain much if I tried. I have never drank or smoked though

You and me both - I did not react to gluten, either. I have no clue whether I would now (have been off nearly a year) and not am about to find out. However, I was away for the past two weeks, visiting family (lots of little nieces and nephews) and have no idea whether I was glutened. I cooked about 95% of the meals myself and was very careful but still.
As others have mentioned, I was also told that the cancer risks are the same as non-celiacs after being off gluten a year.
My doctor has done bloodwork on me twice so far and both times were negative so I am doing something right!
Yeah I go in for blood work every 3 months to see if everything is cool. Its almost that time again (first blood work since I was diagnosed) so I guess I will find out how well I have been doing with it. On another subject, im heading down to the Kinnikinnick store here in Edmonton to check out the new soft bread and buns that you informed me about in another thread.
come dance with me, I read stories all the time of people in so much pain over the slightest amount. I am pretty lucky not to have that.
-
The reason I ask is because its kinda tough for me to know when I am glutened since I dont react to anything at all. The tests say I have it but I would never know it if I ate a regular piece of pizza or bread. I wouldn't do that but just giving an example.
-
I cant find much about it online. My doctor told me to stay off gluten because I have a better chance of getting cancer if I continue to ingest gluten. I have been off gluten since I was diagnosed but im just wondering.
-
I was thinking the same thing. I dont think its more of a female issue. Just seems not many guys want to talk about it.
-
I looked it up when I was looking for a multi vitamin too. I went with Jamieson Super Vita-Vim
-
Anyone know if McCain Superfries are gluten free? I noticed on the packaging that regular McCain hashbrowns aren't safe.
-
I never heard of them either. I want to try them though lol. I looked it up and found..
"The company states that soy and wheat products are maunufactured in the same facility, however precautions are taken to segregate ingredients. If you are not comfortable with this, then this product is not for you."

So im doing my taxes and im at the Medical Expenses section. I didnt work at all in 2011 and I entered in the total amount of all receipts from 2011. It says "Your non-refundable credits exceed your tax payable. You should carry all or a portion of your medical expenses forward to next year. To carry-forward medical expenses, remove the amounts, and save your receipts for use in a future year." Could someone explain what this means? Maybe I cant do it since I didnt work in 2011?

I had no idea this section existed lol. Im in Edmonton.

Check out Jamieson Super Vita-Vim. Im reading the bottle and it seems all good.

I have been eating Campbell's Chunky Soup Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. Its one of the few that are gluten free in that line. They also have Ham and Split Pea.
-
I have been skinny all my life too. I wish I had your problem. Anyway you should replace butter with coconut oil. It does so much for you including helping lose weight. Look it up.
-
Anyone know if this is gluten-free? I found some of their other gums are gluten-free but I cant find anything about this one.
-
Yeah I got a dentist appointment early Feb, first time going since my diagnosis. We will see what they have to say.
-
Yeah I went to the dentist to get xrays of the jaw bone and that was all fine. I dont know what my vitamin levels are. I asked the doc if they were ok and she said they didnt even check for that. I could just go to the doc and request my vitamin levels to be checked?
-
Im still confused about this. Nobody ever talks about it. My teeth are becoming a wreck and I cant do anything about it. Ive been off gluten and taking a bunch of vitamins to try to help my teeth and gums. They are healthy with no cavities. Will it just teeth just stop moving over time or will I always have to put up with it?

This is a quote from a post on these forums from 2008
"I called the manufacturer about Herbal Essence a couple months ago and they said they couldn't guarantee that some of their ingredients may have become cross contaminated, but don't intentionally add any gluten to their products."

I talked to the GI about muscle and joint pain. She said it has nothing to do with celiac. I also brought up brain fog, she just started laughing and said she has never heard of it. Makes me wonder how good of a doctor she really is.

Thanks for the info Else

The new Kinnikinnick bread is pretty good. The closest to normal bread that I have tried. Im still trying to find Glutino Genius bread though. Thats also supposed to be good.
