  1. Has anybody heard from Laura? Laura..... hulloooooooo........???????? I'm home and feeling about as awesome as can be expected. Which is generally like I got my guts ripped out. Hahaha. I was up taking 10 minute walks at the hospital often enough to have made a deal with them to get those stoopid things off my legs. I'm getting my short walks now out...
  2. It's almost 6 in the morning. I slept like hell. The morphine makes me itch like hell but the percocet isn't quite enough alone yet so we added benadryl. I've been outta bed a few times and am surprised at how much easier it is to get around than I thought it would be. No issues at all with my CRPS protocol or food. We have a simple ask before you touch...
  3. We're Diablo people too, and very seriously. We used to be WoW players but gave it up. I've spent half of my day today while I'm supposed to be getting ready playing the new Diablo expansion instead of getting ready. But we beat it, so hah! But I can't eat dead, corrupted angels so I better get back to getting ready. I got 4 little scars from my gallbladder...
  4. I'll be good. I have nothing to hurry for. I figure I can be better when I'm better, and until then I'm happy to be a lump with my netflix and my books. Do I have anything you need to borrow so I can get a cake? Um... I mean gratz on the table finally showing up! Did two guys personally carry it from Zimbabwe or something? Sheesh, it took long enough...
  5. We're going on Thursday. If Laura is anything like me, she's got everything way under control and taken care of. While my church would be happy to organize meals and all that for me, and I'm sure that they would even try to accommodate the gluten free thing (we have a bunch of celiacs), the last thing I can afford while recovering is getting sick from risking...
  6. I heard it was supposed to be March 14, a month after V-day. As reparations for them having to do the whole "a day that revolves around women" thing. My husband thought this was a brilliant idea. Until I reminded him I think V-day is stupid and to buzz off.
  7. I just finished up a batch of red velvet cupcakes. I got 2 into the freezer for after my surgery to spoil myself, the rest won't last the weekend. Oh... dinner, right, this is about dinner. Can cupcakes be for dinner? They would be if I weren't stuck feeding a husband. We'll have some sort of pan fried pork chops, carrot something or other (maybe just...
  8. I made a homemade Earthpaste, since it was what I was using before. I like it. Glad your pool is all ready to go. I'm sure it'll be awesome as soon as it's time to get in. And I'm sure that the salt water is far better for you than all those nasty chemicals were. Look how early I ended up in bed. So much for plans.
  9. I've put a lot of rotisserie things in my little oven already since I've had it and they've all been awesome, except the chickens are never as awesome as the store bought chickens. Frozen was every bit as awesome as I expected though so I was quite happy last night. I'll have leftover chicken tonight and make myself some creamy carrot soup and hit bed early...
  10. We were out today and found chickens on sale. Yay! I'm going to simply rotisserie a chicken for dinner because it's simple. I feel so spoiled being able to rotisserie things at home. My hubby treats me like a princess, the only thing I'm short is the shoe collection. I'll figure out sides a bit later. We also managed to score a copy of Frozen from a Redbox...
  11. The histamine thing is... annoying but it gets better. I was able to enjoy a wide range of foods, in moderation, without issue. I know I'll be starting from scratch again but it'll be worth it. I have a few actual allergic reaction involving rashes, hives and "minor" breathing problems related to heat so I would never play this dangerous game in the summer...
  12. Oh, and I have benadryl handy and my phone within arms reach 100% of the time. And my husband will be home with me until my appointment now. So I'm not terribly worried. We all have fits. It happens. It helps to get it out so we don't stay bottled up and explode.
  13. I just need to have obvious symptoms for my appointment. So I had to make it in the afternoon when my symptoms are worst. And going low histamine very much helped with my swelling and mostly cleared it up. I just need to have "enough" symptoms the doctor can see or whatever to confirm diagnosis. It's rough, but I'm managing. I'm enjoying things I usually...
  14. I don't really have any craps to give about dinner. I need to have my CRPS symptoms as bad as they can get on Thursday for a dx confirmation at the pain clinic so I'm 100% off my histamine diet which is fun and awful at the same time. And last night we put my husband's cat to sleep. I'm not a cat person or anything, but he was still family. My husband is...
  15. Someone from back home! Can't say I'm missing PA after the winter you've had. And we'll all welcome everyone, especially a man who can cook. She may have lied, there may be wolves here.
  16. We can be buddies while we recover! Of course, I'll be drugged senseless for a few days and likely not getting out of bed to be at my computer right away. (no lappy ) When I had my gallbladder out it was a Friday, I came home Saturday and baked a pie on Sunday. Of course, it was Christmas and damn it I was having my pie!!! And my husband did all the hard...
  17. So glad it's working for you! It's nice to see you vertical again. Our pork loin got pushed back a night to last night, so we're having do-overs of that tonight. I've got a ton of rainbow carrots in the freezer still so I'll probably have those with it.
  18. Rotisserie pork loin and some veggies tonight. We saw my husband's new endo today. I fell in love in the most magical way. The doc was all blah blah blah D or bloating or etc etc etc? And my husband was all sometimes? And the doc was all do you have celiac? Lets test you for that. I could have kissed the man right then and there. I told him I love him...
  19. I made a meatloaf last night so I'll have leftovers. I'm not sure yet what I'll feed my husband but I'm sure I'll think of something. I'm pretty happy today. I saw my surgeon and as long as the schedule permits I'll be in on the 27th to have my stupid, useless uterus removed. Woohoo! Two weeks and I can kiss this womanly nonsense goodbye. All of the good...
  20. It was in the 60's here yesterday. I bit chilly today, sweater weather in the 30's. Warm again tomorrow, can't keep spring away! I need mac & cheese. Not sure what else I'll make for dinner but I just need some. Maybe a meatloaf so it's easy to eat. I've got a sore face from getting my crown yesterday, but at least other than my 2 checkups for the...
  21. My husband is anti-casserole or any other such thing that he deems similar. I haven't had lasagna since before I got married. I should just make one sometime and tell him to get his own dinner. It sounds SO GOOD right now.
  22. Before I got married (6 years ago!) I started a project making Christmas stockings for us. But when we got married that meant I wasn't living with my roommate anymore and no sewing machine. I never finished. Now with a new sewing machine I finally finished today so we'll have matching his & hers stockings for this Christmas. We're going to have breakfast...
  23. Not yet and today's mail came already. I may have to wait for the mailman (okay, so we have a girl, but whatever) with a baseball bat on Monday morning. Hahaha! I guess I was waiting until I knew things would work out. But then I was like screw this, I'll MAKE THEM WORK! So one afternoon I needed a heating pad and I hate (super hate) the electric...
  24. That cake sounds awesome. Mr. Moose is a lucky man.
  25. Sounds like a splendid Friday. Things are going well for business. So I went today and bought myself a sewing machine so I can stop using my MIL's. I don't like hers and I also hate being restricted on the time of day I can sew since I'm such a night owl. Now I can sew when it suits me, even if that means it's "the middle of the night" for other people...
