Three words. Maple. Bacon. Taffy. Taffy Town brags at having the world's best taffy. All of it is gluten free, including the chocolate malt which they use an artificial malt flavoring for. (I talked to the guy who sources all of their ingredients while we were there.) The owner did our tour, super sweet guy. The taffy isn't sticky like regular taffy... -

Hey, maybe I'm a masochist or something. Don't judge me! We planned this taffy factory tour more than months ago. We didn't go sooner because my health has been wonky so we decided to go for his birthday. I'm done with stupid health crap. I'm done with my health problems getting in the way of life. Screw it. I don't care if I have to spend the day walking... -

I'm now all red and inflamed and look bruised on my gums around the tooth that started sore. The tooth below it that got sore starting Monday has a pus pocket on my gums. I thought things were supposed to get better when I started antibiotics. At least I was exhausted enough to sleep. YAY! I slept for about 4 or 5 hours (waking a few times but not enough... -

My stupid face kept me from sleeping last night and I had to go sub a class today. Fortunately I was able to sleep a little on my lunch break. I got home at about 3:30, we made burgers and fries and I'll probably crash into bed by 8. Tomorrow I'll go harass my dentist first thing and we'll head off to the city before noon. I've discovered that a cotton ball... -

I'm not sure if I just started with a toothache while I had a headache from my lumbar puncture or if I was in enough pain to clench my jaw and actually break a tooth. What I do know is that when the headache went away I had minor toothache, but my dentist was on vacation... or something, because no one was answering the phone or returning calls and I shrugged... -

I've been thinking about making a cake. I don't really need a cake, but it sure sounds like a good idea. Tonight we're having a peppercorn pork loin with stir fried rice and some sort of veggie. I suppose since my husband has some sort of almost religious conviction against veggies and doesn't like stir fried rice that I may just make him garlic potatoes... -

I love me some roasted veggies. Nothing makes them quite so perfectly yummy as roasting. Just got a text, looks like its pizza for dinner. I am not surprised. I already cooked the rice, which is good because it fries better the next day so it'll be better this way. I guess I need to go preheat the oven so I can cook my pizza. His will either be Pizza... -

I got the idea. Of course, once you start mixing military time with time zones I'm beyond confused so I probably missed dinner. I suppose that is for the best though since if I skip out of town on my husband's birthday he may never forgive me. I'm still waiting for a text so he can tell me if I'm making some sort of chicken stir fry or if he's ordering... -

Hahaha! I'm real people too. I didn't even really have to cook. I cut a few potatoes, sprayed them with olive oil and salted them. The loin was one of those oven perfect ones that you cook right in the bag it comes in. Salad from a bag. BAM! I'm with you. That's how us "real" people do dinner. -

I feel like a human freaking being today! Sore and tender all over my leg and lower back but after the last week I'll take it. Sore and tender trumps actual pain every day of the week. Tonight is BBQ pork loin, garlic tater wedges and a salad. Later tonight is the late late late show at the second run theater. Heading out to finally go see Lone Ranger... -

Just so everyone knows, even if 3 out of 5 cupcakes you buy are mini cupcakes... if you eat 4 cupcakes while wallowing in self pity you will have a terrible stomach ache that almost makes you regret it. Almost, but not quite. -

For the record, and emg isn't nearly as bad as I thought. It is worse. Way, way, way worse. It involved more needles in my back which I swear felt like he stabbed me in the kidney. Then, just to insult me he stabbed me in the ass. I promptly put my pants back on, made a beeline for the exit and took my wounded pride (and ass) to Sweet Cakes since I was in... -

I don't know how people fast on purpose either. I mean, I usually wait an hour or two after I get up in the morning before breakfast but once I decide I'm hungry I need to eat. And I don't fear surprises, I just hate the waiting part. I don't know whats for supper yet. I'm sure I'll figure it out before I starve though. Maybe just burgers because I... -

I'm very personality disorder about surprises. I love them, but I hate them. It could be because of my complete lack of patience I suppose. I'll have to refrain from bouncing around the house waiting and stick with watching too much tv and doing a few dishes as my stupid back permits. Just keep reminding yourself that you won't do well in prison and it... -

I decided that in anticipation of the new season of Grey's Anatomy starting I am watching the entire rest of the series start to finish. Today I should get through season 2 and part of 3 no problem. I was out of bed this morning earlier for like 45 whole minutes before the pain started. I still can't bend at all but whatever. I'm not dizzy any more either... -

That's good news. Hubs brought me an Udi's frozen pizza tonight. It was... frozen pizza. It wasn't spectacular but it wasn't bad either. The problem though is that I ate the whole thing and was kinda still hungry. I suppose maybe I haven't been eating much lately and getting up and about a bit is giving me an appetite back. At any rate, I've probably... -

This is the recipe (I think) she threw at me when I was complaining about my MIL's sauce. It is positively divine. (I couldn't find veal so I used lamb... tragic!) http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/mario-batali/ragu-bolognese-recipe2/index.html Also, here's a video of him making it because I'm a visual learner. In theory my husband is bringing me some Tyson nuggets tonight. I have some Alexia sweet potato tots in the freezer too. Those will be supper tonight and probably tomorrow too. I'm just thrilled right now that I can eat at all. I had a stupid lumbar puncture on Wednesday and got the headache when I got out of bed on Thursday when I tried to get out of... -

Okay... I'm not crazy and I didn't call them that for the lolz. (Although it is pretty funny.) And no, the chicken can not have his balls back. http://www.thebakingbeauties.com/2009/02/gluten-free-chinese-style-chicken-balls-with-sweet-and-sour-sauce.html They look and taste exactly like Chinese takeout when they're done. I was actually thinking about her when I was layin in bed last night unable to fall asleep. She hasn't been pokin her nose in and I was wondering what's up. I write years on what I put in the freezer for a reason. Sometimes things end up in the bottom and eventually one day I'll end up all the way down there again and be like when the hell did this end... -

I was a member of the Lions back in PA. I haven't joined here, idk why. It was so much fun! They do the coolest stuff. And the district I lived in is where that camp is that kids from all over the country go to. They do ones for kids with particular types of cancer or diseases or disabilities and we were super involved with that. It was incredibly awesome...
