  1. I heard it was supposed to be March 14, a month after V-day. As reparations for them having to do the whole "a day that revolves around women" thing. My husband thought this was a brilliant idea. Until I reminded him I think V-day is stupid and to buzz off.
  2. I just finished up a batch of red velvet cupcakes. I got 2 into the freezer for after my surgery to spoil myself, the rest won't last the weekend. Oh... dinner, right, this is about dinner. Can cupcakes be for dinner? They would be if I weren't stuck feeding a husband. We'll have some sort of pan fried pork chops, carrot something or other (maybe just...
  3. I have always, since diagnosis, used personal contact with every single individual manufacturer, or their website if information is available there as my source. I have never considered second hand information that may be out of date as good enough to stake my health on. I have never had issues getting answers, every manufacturer has provided clear and easy...
  4. I can't get past a 512 single square. But I do keep getting high total scores. Why, oh why, does this have to be so addictive?
  5. This will be fun amusement in the hospital. I'm sure it was totally an accident, as I got almost stuck twice, but I got a 3048. I also have no idea how it happened.
  6. I made a homemade Earthpaste, since it was what I was using before. I like it. Glad your pool is all ready to go. I'm sure it'll be awesome as soon as it's time to get in. And I'm sure that the salt water is far better for you than all those nasty chemicals were. Look how early I ended up in bed. So much for plans.

    ARCHIVED Crps

I may try that out of laziness, picking the right one out of dozens just seems so complicated. And one wrong thing can mess this up so bad that I hate to be out there floundering on my own when my doctor isn't sure who else to point me to for this. We'll be awesome surgery buddies. We've been totally, randomly, accidentally doing things at the same time...
  8. Last week I finally saw some Girl Scouts out and hadn't checked online to see if we were a test area, I figured I would just ask if they had them when I saw girls selling them. So I walked up and asked, and one of the moms looked at me like I had two heads, a tail, and was going to kidnap and eat their children. I walked off in a huff. Jerks. So I checked...

    ARCHIVED Crps

I got my confirmed diagnosis today, CRPS. I'm a ball of emotions. For 5 years I've been trying to get doctors to tell me what's wrong. I've had them tell me to take pills for the pain, that a diagnosis doesn't matter. I've had them tell me I'm depressed. I've been told it's all caused by anxiety. I've been told it's somatization. (I won't make you go look...
  10. I've put a lot of rotisserie things in my little oven already since I've had it and they've all been awesome, except the chickens are never as awesome as the store bought chickens. Frozen was every bit as awesome as I expected though so I was quite happy last night. I'll have leftover chicken tonight and make myself some creamy carrot soup and hit bed early...
  11. We were out today and found chickens on sale. Yay! I'm going to simply rotisserie a chicken for dinner because it's simple. I feel so spoiled being able to rotisserie things at home. My hubby treats me like a princess, the only thing I'm short is the shoe collection. I'll figure out sides a bit later. We also managed to score a copy of Frozen from a Redbox...
  12. The histamine thing is... annoying but it gets better. I was able to enjoy a wide range of foods, in moderation, without issue. I know I'll be starting from scratch again but it'll be worth it. I have a few actual allergic reaction involving rashes, hives and "minor" breathing problems related to heat so I would never play this dangerous game in the summer...
  13. Oh, and I have benadryl handy and my phone within arms reach 100% of the time. And my husband will be home with me until my appointment now. So I'm not terribly worried. We all have fits. It happens. It helps to get it out so we don't stay bottled up and explode.
  14. I just need to have obvious symptoms for my appointment. So I had to make it in the afternoon when my symptoms are worst. And going low histamine very much helped with my swelling and mostly cleared it up. I just need to have "enough" symptoms the doctor can see or whatever to confirm diagnosis. It's rough, but I'm managing. I'm enjoying things I usually...
  15. I don't really have any craps to give about dinner. I need to have my CRPS symptoms as bad as they can get on Thursday for a dx confirmation at the pain clinic so I'm 100% off my histamine diet which is fun and awful at the same time. And last night we put my husband's cat to sleep. I'm not a cat person or anything, but he was still family. My husband is...
  16. I see Bob's things at Big Lots all the time. I buy my oatmeal there for a decent price. It isn't omg amazing but it's good enough that I don't ration my oatmeal the way I would if I bought it at health food store prices.
  17. When they make sandwiches, if they are using the same meats and toppings that they use for everyone else then you aren't safe. They are reaching for those with gloves contaminated with crumbs and dropping them all over those things. I agree with two points. Maybe they could do packaged salads for you. As long as they are well educated they should be...
  18. Someone from back home! Can't say I'm missing PA after the winter you've had. And we'll all welcome everyone, especially a man who can cook. She may have lied, there may be wolves here.
  19. We can be buddies while we recover! Of course, I'll be drugged senseless for a few days and likely not getting out of bed to be at my computer right away. (no lappy ) When I had my gallbladder out it was a Friday, I came home Saturday and baked a pie on Sunday. Of course, it was Christmas and damn it I was having my pie!!! And my husband did all the hard...
  20. Brilliant idea from Lisa. It's spring again! I was out yesterday (or maybe the day before) and bought purple string bean seeds. Today we ordered ruby queen corn and purple dragon carrot seeds. I'll be checking my mint to see how it weathered the winter next week. And I'll be looking to buy some chocolate mint to add to my collection.
  21. So glad it's working for you! It's nice to see you vertical again. Our pork loin got pushed back a night to last night, so we're having do-overs of that tonight. I've got a ton of rainbow carrots in the freezer still so I'll probably have those with it.
  22. Rotisserie pork loin and some veggies tonight. We saw my husband's new endo today. I fell in love in the most magical way. The doc was all blah blah blah D or bloating or etc etc etc? And my husband was all sometimes? And the doc was all do you have celiac? Lets test you for that. I could have kissed the man right then and there. I told him I love him...
  23. The thought of being hospitalized hadn't really occurred to me. I have my husband to feed me and speak for me so that isn't really an issue. On the other hand, in a worst case scenario, in a tragic accident he may not be available and I may need my medical records to speak for me. It can't hurt to do the urine test next time I'm in the office. Assuming of...
  24. I made a meatloaf last night so I'll have leftovers. I'm not sure yet what I'll feed my husband but I'm sure I'll think of something. I'm pretty happy today. I saw my surgeon and as long as the schedule permits I'll be in on the 27th to have my stupid, useless uterus removed. Woohoo! Two weeks and I can kiss this womanly nonsense goodbye. All of the good...
  25. My oldest daughter was completely set to be a chemical engineer. Then last year, her senior year in high school, while also doing some college courses she was on a robotics team. Apparently it was enough to change her life, because she's changed her major. She's going to be a mechanical engineer now. It must run in the family, because that's what my dad is...
