  1. I'm glad you have an answer, and will send prayers and happy/healing thoughts. Hope things are otherwise well over there.
  2. I also have fibro and tried both Cymbalta and Lyrica for it and neither helped. I appreciate the tip, but have no interest in wasting another $40 a month on drugs that didn't help then as I am quite sure they won't again. My fibro is much better controlled gluten free. I've been on Neurontin a month but have begun to lose hope that it will do anything for...
  3. Glad your mom is cooperating. Hopefully she'll stick with it. And yes, dinner is better when someone else makes it. I am happier not thinking about the doctor. I have started making appointments with every doctor in a 10 mile radius who takes my insurance. Some appointments are as far out as July, but I am desperate and if I find answers before then I...
  4. So I saw the neuro this morning. I mentioned to him that there was an issue my doctor wanted me to discuss with him. (I figured saying it that way, which also happened to be true, would make him more receptive.) him: So what seems to be the issue? me: My doctor says I present with many symptoms of CRPS but wanted me to discuss it with you. him: CRPS...
  5. Oh you are a riot. You sound like me when something goes horribly wrong in the kitchen. Gratz on the new bike! My condolences to your hubby. And hopefully your mom will get over her stubborn pride before she hurts herself. I am up way too early for me. But, the good news is I see my neuro today and will hopefully get a firm CRPS label and some actual...
  6. All this creativity! Boring old boringness at my house tonight. Taco encores and banana dessert quesadillas. I have more bananas from this produces basket thing than I can shake a stick at and there is only so much banana bread a girl can eat.
  7. I used to eat a taco seasoning that has both soybeans and yeast something other in it. That is when I discovered Nueva Cocina. After trying it the first time I am so spoiled that I frankly have no interest in anything else. I never did like McCormick to be perfectly honest. http://www.nuevacocina.com/store/2375/Taco-Fresco.aspx That is what I use, or did...
  8. Tacos tonight. So my husband stops in the store on the way home to grab my taco seasoning. Reports they don't have it. I panic. We end up in two stores before I find a Simply Organic one and settle for it so we can just eat. Looks like I'll have to buy my taco seasoning on the internet now. There is literally only one store that sells only one kind of taco...
  9. Being a nondrinker, I suppose I must learn to sail and be our designated.... um... sailor? driver? something like that. At least I'll earn my keep. You can make burgers out of gators? OMG! We'll all have matching purses in no time!
  10. This had me laughing. I recently cleaned and rearranged three sets of four shelves and had a near miss due to thinking I could move a shelf down a notch with stuff on it. I'm laughing with you, I swear! (You're laughing right?)
  11. What kind of..... well I'd call my husband a DA too..... does that?!?! I'm practically speechless, and that takes a real feat of monumental dumassery. (Its a word.)
  12. Awww, you're poor noggin! Hope you feel better soon. Last time I did that I had been horsing around with my husband in bed, like good old fashioned horseplay like 8 year olds indulge in. Then WHAM! my head and the headboard had a meeting and I saw stars and blacked out for a second. Try explaining that to the ER staff and getting them to believe it wasn't...
  13. I didn't even know I had had a biopsy done. Then I got a call at the end of a business day on a Friday to tell me the results of my biopsy. I was like wha.....???? "You have celiac, when do you want to come in to schedule more follow up testing?" Oh, you biopsy me and don't even tell me I had a biopsy then call me and tell me I have this life altering disease...
  14. That sounds like a perfectly splendid dinner after a day at the dentist.
  15. I'll be busy tonight when my husband gets home from work. So I'll have a salad ready for him and a burger ready for him to grill and he'll be all set. I suppose if he wants something more he can nuke a "baked" potato and put some bacon and ranch on it or something. I'll have the same thing, just much later after I get off the phone. And we'll follow up with...
  16. Last week I had a few overripe bananas from my basket so I decided to make banana bread. (This was after my trial and discovering I can in fact eat bananas. YAY!!!) My first try was tasty, but didn't turn out as.... bread. My second attempt I used the minimum amount of bananas called for, added a little xanthum gum. I was going to look up how much to use...
  17. Dinner doesn't have to be exciting. Our salads are just converted from the sandwiches my husband used to love and got addicted to during his short stint at Blimpie. I'm not even cooking chicken, we're going to use the leftover Costco chicken. I suppose I still have to cook though if I want my mac & cheese. OMG though... I got stuck in this stupid thing...
  18. I found bread from The Essential Baking Company. Never heard of them before. I posted some nonsense about it over in the products section. I don't know if anyone remembers that kind of whole wheat bread that was full of like sunflower seeds and other seeds and oats and all that? Well, this is kinda like that but minus the oats. It is full of all sorts of...
  19. Bahahaha!! This just makes me envision some cartoony old people throwing a chicken at a door to a house and just as it falls onto the front step the door opens and then a host of hungry children fall up on the chicken like ravenous wolves. Pretty much sums up feeding hungry teens.
  20. I do not take those chickens at all for granted. I count my lucky stars every time I have one. I just sort of panicked when I realized that my planned dinner was still in the freezer. I guess I know what I'll have tomorrow at least.
  21. I realized while I was on my way to the eye doctor that I forgot to get dinner out of the freezer. So, Costco chicken since we were going there anyway, with roasted taters and bread. OMG the most amazing bread. If you saw someone squealing like a little girl in your local Costco this evening over gluten free bread, that was me.
  22. That cake looks amazing! Also, burrito wraps is a brilliant idea. I should try that.
  23. Errand day, so lazy day. Leftovers for me. Apparently my husband doesn't like corned beef. Who ever heard of such a thing? Oh well, he picked up a frozen pizza while we ran errands and that is his dinner. Now tomorrow I can sleep until I wake up. No alarms. That mango sauce looks SO GOOD!
  24. That is almost too adorable to eat! Except the chocolate part. That gets me every time.
  25. I've adopted coconut aminos too. They aren't the same, but they work well in sauces and such. I also don't miss soy, I miss soy sauce! It drives me up a wall that soy is this "healthy" thing so it is everything. At least lecithin doesn't bother me. Yet. I have 3 jars of George left. Friday night my husband brought home Easter George from work. (We figure...
