  1. Irish is the one who brought up attracting cabana boys... aka men. I'm riding with Karen! (Yeah, so now my true side shows. I like to be topless.)
  2. That DOES look good! Aren't men and animals pretty much the same thing?
  3. My guess is that what is left of the menu would be easy. Glazed bananas should be idiot proof to make gluten free. Ditch the garlic bread, and frankly it isn't needed with that cheese bread. (I have got to find a recipe! My husband is begging me to learn to make it.) I don't know what those desserts are exactly, I did see someone getting chocolate cake. Meh...
  4. Ah... but the remainder of what I did today. Now this involves food. And an endless parade of cabana boys meat servers whose entire night was filled with pleasing me. This is a small taste of the variety you'll get should you ever venture this way. http://www.rodiziogrill.com/about-us One actually slice off a rather large piece of beef then said "sorry it...
  5. Thanks everyone! The morning was freakin awesome! I'm just chillin' til dinner. My husband is warming up, I think he is pretty much a hub-sicle. Poor guy, and I'm the one of us who doesn't normally handle the cold well.
  6. I could do the 80 thing in the winter for a while I suppose. Honestly though, I escaped that hot, humid BS back in PA and there is no way I would volunteer for that again. No way, no how. Bring on the 95 and dry, but hot and humid? Sorry but you'll be on your own. Tonight I almost made tacos. Then I just didn't. Headed out shopping for tomorrow's excursion...
  7. I got me one of those! I swear he practically breaks out in a sweat if a vegetable that isn't either lettuce or a fresh, uncooked carrot gets within about 10 feet of his face. He was mostly living on frozen pizzas before he met me. I have vastly expanded his horizons and am slowly working on him. I swear though... omg... he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes...
  8. A two year old post is not relevant information today about what is or is not gluten free. A two month old post isn't either. A simple rule we must all live by, no matter what, is every label, every time. I wasn't dealing with the issue at the time, but it is possible that there was a lapse in the gluten free status. I find it also highly likely (having worked...
  9. LOL! I was also thinking all sorts of inappropriate things when I read that.
  10. I've got nothing against vegans/vegetarians, but now we know what to do the next time one goes all militant on us.
  11. If you're the kind of person who counts the good deeds you do, this totally counts. Some days, the fact that you made it through without committing homicide is a good deed. Quite easily rectified. I'm sure there are more than enough of us willing to help with that.
  12. I think I'm going to have some squash tonight with my burgers. I'll probably yank a pack of cookies out of the freezer too for a snack or something later. I sort of feel like I should be all jumping on this whole new year, try some new diet thing but frankly I'm scared to try anything until I'm done testing all my tyramine foods to see what bothers me...
  13. WOOOO!!!! I'm waiting until I'm free to eat bacon to make some. I know I could just make it and refrain from eating it. I know that in theory I have the willpower to refrain, after all I've made it this far with all this other crap. But I'm also honest with myself, I'll tell myself to double up my topamax and dig in and probably still end up half blind. ...
  14. My Grandmother keeps saltines and Ritz in her house. She also keeps a jar with Milky Way which are my grandfather's weakness, but they're the teensy little ones and they maybe go through a bag 2 or 3 times a year and only because the "kids" (meaning grown grandkids or smaller great grandkids) are getting into them. Soda in cans is kept around for upset stomachs...
  15. Can pronounce all those. I took a chem class a year ahead of schedule in high school, we were informed the first day it would be graded on a curve. I um... ruined that for everyone else and was "responsible" for more than one person failing the class. Best teacher, best class, I loved that guy. He wore a bow tie too. Damn shame it was his last year teaching...
  16. I was pretty geeky growing up and have become more so now. I am sort of the mother of a chemist. Okay... so she is a few months from finishing high school and heading off to college but she knows what her plans are. At any rate, I can pronounce some pretty "unpronounceable" things. I guess I get to eat more stuff than a lot of other people.
  17. Happy New Year!! I don't exactly celebrate and I have 5 more hours of this year staring me down. I'm saving up all my energy for this weekend, I don't need to wear myself out with parties tonight. We just had a little pizza and we'll probably watch some bad TV. Best of luck with that whole skiing thing. I shudder at the thought of that much time...
  18. I buy from Teavana. I don't know if they are entirely gluten free, but I do know that I am not bothered by their teas. I buy from a local store but they can also be ordered online. I'm also as much of a tea snob as I am a chocolate snob I guess. If you are into bags, they do sell bags as well as tea balls, and travel mugs that you can just steep right...
  19. Have wine. If you drink enough you won't remember and if you don't remember the calories don't count!
  20. You know Irish, the solution to tight pants is to stay home and in jammies. If you aren't wearing pants, they won't be tight! Happy Anniversary!!! Or um, whatever you're calling it tonight. Sounds lovely. We're following through on our burgers plan tonight. I'll make some arepas and if everything goes as planned they'll come out of the oven just...
  21. What is wrong with plan BBB? You can weave bacon into a breadlike substitute, then just put bacon in the middle. Bam, BBB sandwich! This covers everything except for those of us who aren't supposed to be eating bacon. I love the avocado idea! I can eat tomatoes but I may just try that for fun one day when I trial avocados. Sounds yummy but I do so hate...
  22. I went to the store for meat to make burgers and got totally distracted by Aidell's sausages marked down. Burgers got pushed back to tomorrow. Tonight we had some Italian sausages and a little pasta and sauce. I attempted to force my husband to eat Classico sauce, I even pureed it so it wouldn't be chunky. Didn't work out particularly well. I keep crossing...
  23. Having looked at pictures of both, and having quite an unhealthy affinity for fried foods, I vote frying. The pictures look divine! I didn't know such a thing exists, now I want some. My plan was burgers on arepas. I'm sort of rethinking that now.
