  1. Indian food sounds delicious. Either kind really. Here in Utah it can be rather confusing about which you're going out for if someone isn't specific. :P

Apparently my husband brought home a LOT of steak. So, steak is for dinner. Not complaining at all! No such thing as too much steak. I'll look up a recipe and do something fabulous tonight I think. I've given my husband a shopping list for nachos for tomorrow night. I'm rather excited. And I'm thinking Sunday will be the orange chicken. It rang up at $5.99 for a 22 oz bag which I didn't think was bad, especially for something without any weird ingredients and an allergen statement of "none!" on the package. But the shelf tag said $4.99 and by God I was getting it for the price it listed on the shelf. The brand is Hart (I think, if I remember right) and it can be deep fried, pan fried, or ovened. <--I make up my own verbs as I like. And this was a regular grocery store in the Kroger chain of stores, so maybe some of you may find it soon too.

I'm rather disappointed. My doctor's office called me back yesterday and told me all my blood work was normal. That should be good news, but it doesn't explain why I feel like I've had the life sucked out of me. <_< Oh well, I told the nurse to ask the doctor what now. He's pretty good and I'm sure he'll look into other ideas or more tests if necessary. I just need to be feeling awesome in 5 weekends!

  2. My husband is bringing home steak for dinner. I do have plans for "soon" though. One of the local stores just started carrying a frozen gluten free orange chicken without any super weird ingredients. I'm pretty excited. I think tomorrow or Saturday I'm going to stop in and pick it up instead of daydreaming about it. It'll probably turn into one of those things we don't buy much because I make really awesome orange chicken already. I just want to try it because it exists.

I'm also super excited because my tomato plants finally started having tomatoes on them. Yay! Soon I'll be able to have my purple tomato, purple basil caprese salad. ^_^

Walk in, ask if anyone needs gluten-free menu before they ask how many are in our party.  They have 2 kitchens, one for gluten-free.  The waitress brought out my daughter's food first, the gluten stuff, said she would be right back with mine after she WASHED HER HANDS, brought mine out, different colored plate with a toothpick thing in that said Gluten Free on it.  They had a Parmesan bread, gluten-free, that was really good too!!  She said if her boss saw her bringing out regular food and gluten-free food together they are fired on the spot--same if she didn't wash her hands between serving.  The food was fantastic too!!  The sister of the owner is Celiac and she added the second kitchen when her sister was diagnosed.  I asked if there were plans to franchise in the future :D

This sounds awesome. We have a small pizza chain in northern Utah that has double kitchens. And their pizza is freakin awesome! B) I gotta get there soon, they have a summer specialty pizza called a bacon-berry pie that I've got to try. Strawberry-balsamic sauce, chicken, bacon, mozz, red onions and feta then topped with fresh strawberries and cilantro after they bake it. I think I need to keep napkins at my desk, I almost drooled on myself thinking about it. ^_^

Our weather this week is awesome. In the 70s yesterday and today and rain all week. :D I'm skipping any real cooking tonight and making one of those cook it in the bag you buy it in pork tenderloins. I super love the easy clean up. I think I have enough purple beans ready to pick them and have those with it. Maybe a salad or something if I go to the store, I do need to return a book to the library today which is right across the street.

  4. You're so twisted. :P I was looking at your little chubby headed unicorn last night and thinking about how adorable he is. Makes me smile. :D I much prefer the happy purple unicorn to the vomiting rainbows one. My husband is gonna kill me for this... but after Easter when all the baskets were half off they had one with a little chubby alicorn in it. (An alicorn is a unicorn with wings for anyone who didn't know.) Anyway, my husband thought it was adorable so he got it. For himself. It's on his desk with his Blizzard (the game company) stuffed animals.

  5. I forgot I had some hamburger in the fridge. My husband is going to make his own dinner tonight and I think I'll make some spaghetti and meatballs. I slept way too much today and I can't wait to go get tested tomorrow for anemia so I can just get my stupid infusions and get on with my life!

I saw some research this evening that showed that if they injected serum antibodies from CRPS patients into mice, the mice got CRPS. This is awesome because it is more evidence that it's an AI condition. Which means they can hopefully research more effective treatments. Yay! :D

  6. When my girls were little I'd send them to their room. Together. I told them they could come out when they could get along. Usually they were happily playing together in under 5 minutes and forgot they wanted to come out, at least for a little while. :D

I'm not sure what's for supper yet. Maybe alfredo. I got a pork tenderloin out yesterday but I don't think it'll be ready to cook until tomorrow.

i hear ya, irish - *i* ruled with an iron fist - and they're good when their mother isn't here......

    Aren't all kids?

  7. Not sure yet if I'm going to cook tonight or not. At the market I'm on the side of the sidewalk that's inside the park, so I always show up first thing so I get my stuff moved into my spot before the street side vendors get there. It would be awkward trying to get my stuff through them. Usually I have an entire hour and a half after I set up to myself and I sit and read. This morning instead of being an antisocial freak I spent the entire time chatting with my neighbors. I also didn't take enough sitting breaks and really did a number on my stupid, useless leg. <_< But I had loads of fun and enjoyed my day. Plus I wore a sleeveless shirt so I could even out my farmer's tan so I'm feeling pretty awesome about that too. B) Now if only I could do something about my blindingly white legs.

Anyway. I'm not up to cooking so I already told my husband he's on his own. I did stop on the way home to pick up some vodka to turn the leftover mint into extract. I discovered 360 vodka, which is American made "hippie" vodka. It's all eco-friendly and crap. My husband will be so thrilled. <-- sarcasm  He makes fun of me for being a little hippie-ish. And I brought home some yellow squash with me that a neighbor was selling. If I get ambitious I'll do something with a squash for myself. If not, I have a bowl full of some sort of yellow melon I cut up (can't remember what kind) and I have two kinds of ice cream in the freezer. I'm quite sure I'll survive just fine on those. ^_^

I hope everyone is having as awesome a weekend as me. I'm counting down the minutes until my husband is home and I can turn on Dr. Who.

  8. Yup! She keeps updating on facebook. I'm so jealous. I've always thought that one day I may get there. Then we got our Salt Lake Comic Con, which was the largest inaugural Con and with the spring attendance became the third largest in the country. I'm not entirely sure I have so much to be jealous about... but it IS the San Diego Con which is legendary.

  9. I could totally get to Texas in time for dinner tomorrow! Alas, I must work instead. Then come home and cook for myself. <_<

Tonight I took the easy way out, burgers and tots. I have an appointment on Tuesday with my GP to see if I'm anemic again. I'm getting mystery bruises and I'm exhausted 100% of the time. I don't have time for this crap, or time for infusions again, but I guess I'll make time because it beats the alternative of sleeping 12-16 hours a day like I have been the past 2 weeks. This (in plain English) blows. At least last time the infusions straightened me out pretty quick so it should be a simple matter of a blood test then setting up the stupid weekly appointments. As long as I'm better by the first weekend in September for Comic Con. B) No amount of feeling like hell will keep me from John Barrowman. Not even the fires of hell themselves.

  10. I just bought chicken today to make fried chicken! :D I'm freezing it though and it'll be a little while til I decide to make it. I also got a new waffle iron. My husband freaked a little at the $30 price tag, but it's a nice one and makes 4 at a time so I won't be in the kitchen all freaking day making waffles every time I throw a batch together. We also want to just make a bunch and freeze them to use as toaster waffles for breakfast.

Last night I made chuck tender steaks. I baked them and they were amazing. I made a little gravy from the sauce and some arepas to dip in the gravy. Yum! Tonight my husband wants spaghetti, so that's what we're having. I've given up always making penne pasta and being happy with it. We spring for Barilla now which isn't that expensive and it is great to finally have spaghetti noodles for spaghetti nights. I got some already ready already meatballs that I can just microwave so I don't have to make them. Although when I do make them I've started just using my mini muffin pan and making meat muffins instead of meatballs because it's so much easier.

  11. Tonight we're having reruns of the london broil. I'll have to find something to go with it but I'm sure something will come up. Last night I found a dozen or so purple string beans ready in the garden to have with my dinner. It was the first thing out of the garden this year that wasn't mint, which doesn't count. They were delicious. ^_^

Today I'm lightening my hair for summer. I'm pretty excited. I have lots of work to do, but I think I may also take a few hours out to give myself a mani. It's just that kind of day. And I have a pretty new pink skirt from a thrift shop I'm wearing tomorrow so I think pink nails will be perfect. B)

  12. Got a london broil out of my freezer to thaw for tomorrow. Tonight I'm in the mood for mac & cheese. Nothing I can really thaw quickly so I think we'll just do burgers. Not particularly exciting, but a decent summer supper. I have a container of baby spring mix greens for salads and maybe I'll get out the deep fryer for fries for my husband since he doesn't like homemade mac & cheese. (something seriously wrong with that man.) I owe him though, I dragged him to Joann's today. I was like a kid in a candy store, I picked out 7 or 8 new flannels and fabric for a reversible, two colored basket liner. He wasn't excited to be there at all.

Tonight we're going to take a walk around the neighborhood around sunset and go look at people's gardens. We've seen a few in passing that have interesting things we'd like to look at to see if they are things we'd like to add to our garden next year. The walk will probably call for some of our dark chocolate covered fruit pops to bring along since it doesn't entirely cool off til around 10.

  13. We stopped at the store today and I got a chicken for $3! Yay! I roasted it, filled the house with smoke (lol) and enjoyed a lovely dinner. I'm really enjoying my husband having the same two days off every week, it's positively great. Stayed up way too late last night, enjoying a lot of tv last night and tonight and some ice cream. Had some errands today to go pick up a bag of buckwheat, go to the bank and such. It's just plain too hot for me these days though. Ick. A person could melt out there.

  14. Yesterday was awesome. Besides being a great day for business, some vendors got moved around and there was someone new across from me. The husband makes little wooden painted dudes that are sets from movies, tv shows, whatever. He's going to do a TNG set for me to give my husband for his birthday in September. Usually there are 7 in a set, but he's going to add in a Locutus for me. It'll be his first Star Trek set and we're both excited. And my husband thinks that going to Comic Con is his birthday present so he'll be surprised. I just better never tell him what the little guys cost.

I made tater wedges, glazed baby carrots and pork chops last night. It was something really simple and easy to throw together because no matter how awesome my Saturday is, it is exhausting being out. I have my ways to keep cool, but that doesn't stop it from being near 100 (in July!! too soon!) but at least we still have cool mountain breezes this early in the summer. By next month all the ice and snow will be gone from the tallest mountains and that's gonna be gone. :(

Tonight is taco night. My husband was picking on me this morning because I'll eventually run out of my taco seasoning that I bought all of when I found it then I have no idea what I'll do for tacos. <_< Until then though, I'm going to enjoy the best ever tacos. :D
