Wow.. it's 5 months exactly for me as well and I'm right where you are! I was doing well.. then all the sudden felt like I relapsed. I just started cutting out dairy so we'll see how that goes, but I'm so frustrated (actually scared more than anything). I read that some people have salicylate intolerance which absolutely terrifies me since that includes all my favorite foods. I'm seeing my primary doctor tomorrow so I guess we'll see what he says. I'm trying to eat as plain as possible (although I have yet to give up my morning coffee.. which I buy organic and grind at home). Today I just had some dry rice chex mix and a green smoothie (made with organic spinach, fresh blueberries, assorted frozen fruit and organic almond butter). We'll see how I feel later! My biggest issue is just terrible bloating, gas, and of course the 'big D'.. I've also heard SIBO could be a culprit.

Hi Everyone. I'm so happy I found this forum!
I'm 27 and have been married to my husband for 8 months (we've been together for 5 years though). I was diagnosed with Celiac 4 months after our wedding (in September). I'm so happy I finally discovered why I was withering away and always in the bathroom... but I'm definitely still recovering. I stopped taking birth control back in July and finally got my period in September (first 'real' one since going off birth control, and exactly two weeks after going gluten free). My husband and I really want to start trying in the next few months to have a baby, but I'm still terrified that I'm not completely healed. My OBGYN said everything looks good with my reproductive organs, but I want to make sure my vitamin levels and antibody levels are in check. I'm seeing my primary doctor next week (although he specializes in GI he knows little about celiac unfortunately). I think I've been getting CC'ed a lot lately so I'm a little discouraged about that. I actually just read in a previous forum the prenatal vitamins I've been taking (Rainbow Light Prenatal One) contain trace amounts of gluten, although labeled 'gluten-free'! Maybe that's why I've still been getting sick? Crazy. Anyways, I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone had any tips to prepare my body for a (potential) pregnancy. Vitamins you recommend? Best foods to eat? Tips for fertility? I'm open to anything!

Yep I just got checked out too to make sure it wasn't my reproductive organs. I was diagnosed with celiac back in September and it's STILL hard for me to tell. Always better to be safe though!

Just went there last weekend in Orlando. Probably my favorite gluten-free/restaurant experience YET! I didn't feel deprived at all and didn't get sick.

Hi Everyone! I haven't had much time to really look into various gluten free haircare products, so I was curious to know what everyone uses or recommends? I've resorted to some of the cheaper products that don't really work well on my hair. Right now I'm using L'Oreal's EverStrong shampoo and conditioner. I also use Garnier Fructis mousse and sometimes Pantene's detangler spray (which I'm not 100% sure is gluten free). Any suggestions would be appreciated! I'm willing to buy expensive brands as long as they work!

Yes I'm curious to know why it affects my left side too. It's very acute though - probably one specific part of my intestines is still really damaged? I'm actually going to the gyno tomorrow just to make sure there's not something else going on!

When it's severe it's always in my lower left abdominal region. Before I was diagnosed I actually thought my appendix was about to burst! In fact just a couple of weeks ago I landed myself in the ER because it was so bad. I still don't know if I got glutened then or what, but it was awful. I also feel cramps similar to my "monthly" cramps so I never really know what's going on. I was diagnosed in September and still seem to get sick frequently despite the fact that I'm super careful and use only gluten-free products. Frustrating!

Thanks for the tips! This week has been rough (either CC'ed or developing other food sensitivities).. so I definitely think we need to wait until I can get it under control. Wanting a baby is pretty good motivation though to be extra careful and take good care of yourself! I'm going back to the basics and slowly incorporating different foods/products back in to see what the issue is. I will keep everyone posted. =)
