  1. For decades I kept improving my diet in the hope that the energy and alertness I craved would come and stay. In my desperate way I cut junk food, baked my own 100% whole grain natural bread, and even moved to a farm. Lately, I have been thinking about the desperate way I controlled my diet, while I left exercise to chance. By chance I got quite a lot...
  2. Yeah, if I didn't feel so good, I would feel these depressing thoughts, and sometimes I do.
  3. Hang on for the ride! so glad that you have help. That is great if you can absorb things better, and hopefully it will change everything. Keep watching it and you may need help with the meds. For now it may be good to read up on signs of overdose or side effects.
  4. When I have the blues like that, the best thing I can think of that I do is take inventory. I think back to how I felt when I have started. I remember aching feet, foggy fatigue and think about what I haven't lost. I have already come a long way. I consider that now I know the cause and how to prevent trouble. I look at my eyes clarity in the mirror...
  5. Yes, this sounds just like the utter hopelessness that I go through. The way is sometimes long and hard. But it is often followed shortly by higher highs.
  6. I can relate. My mother is in a similar state as yours. I do feel hopeless when I am in a low. I hope the highs will be along again soon. Mine usually do. Write anytime. D
  7. I am happy to hear about Mom's consideration of your e-mails. It really is a hard thing for everyone. There will be bumps and twists. Keep going. You are now a detective and need to keep trying to figure out the things that bother you. It will help to keep records and analyze as you are doing. Also keep track of foods that help you feel better. ...
  8. I used to fall asleep between words on a spelling test! At least not too dangerous as driving. Perhaps you already did, but if you post this on the section about pre-diagnosis you will likely get more response. I hope you will get to the root of the problem as frequent nausea isn't "Normal". There are many symptoms of celiac and those who don't...
  9. If you post your question in the forum about traveling, more people may see it. I haven't ever been to China or Japan. D
  10. I personally can't eat the Shelton ground turkey I recommended anymore. I talked to the company and we couldn't figure out why. I can't tell you if it is my problems to wheat, corn, rice, or whatever. Nothing suspicious is in it. D
  11. Best wishes in all your efforts! Have your tried making muffins with almond flour? Even my family like them. D
  12. I am not a volunteer to my current position of transitioning from a life of relishing gluten to lady that shrinks back when gluten is near. When the teacher mentioned "health" or an internal organ in elementary school, I felt weak! Sometimes, I would get dizzy and the field of vision turned black! Once a nurse came to school to take our pulses. The teacher...
  13. No, you cannot eat gluten if you have celiac disease. It is a life long thing to avoid gluten. It is well this way anyway, because you can be healthy!
  14. I hope you are not feeling overwhelmed. It sounds like you are making your way. You are doing just what you should be for your children. The doctors sound like they are not very helpful. It takes a while to learn the diet and to heal from celiac. All the best to you. D
  15. I didn't really feel pain in my gut when I had undiagnosed celiac. I noticed bloating. Sometimes I felt pressure, but once I bloated 9 inches (and 9 pounds over night) with no pain. Since going gluten free I have occassionally felt sudden sharp pains. For a couple of days I had sharp pain in the lower left quadrant. When I eat pumpkin I get a pulsating...
  16. Pumpkins were the problem, I am pretty sure by now. I had a battle with some store bought cauliflower, and since I am continuing debloating and feeling reasonably well. I am using SCD diet. I guess for the most part that is what I was doing anyway since I am doing grain free.
  17. I found a link about vertigo. www.livingwithout.com issues/4/12ataxia2366-1.html?pg2 I couldn't figure out how to get there with the click on information, but I searched the sight for ataxia and found the article. D
  18. Oh, boy, but they have a sheet rock mud project today. :( I feel sick.
  19. Disclaimer: My reactions are unique and may be more than celiac, therefore not many people would need to panic they will get like reactions. The reactions aren't labeled, so I really don't know why I am having them this way. Please don't panic . Now, My Family Believes Me! In my illness, I would say daily. I am tired. I didn't mean that I over...
  20. My local Jason's Deli warned me against eating there. They didn't put gluten in gluten free items, but they cross contaminate things. It could be different in other branches, but it pays to be safe. D
  21. I got inflammation/ popping joints from smelling popcorn, I think. The popping took 24 hours to appear. I try not to stress the joints when I am swollen.
  22. Is it a joint thing? I am not sure why others with popping aren't posting. I think I have heard it before. Do you have arthritis?
  23. My functional medicine physicians try to find out why I am having trouble. Instead of giving me some pill to make my blood pressure low, they try to analyze what is causing it to be high. They use nutritional supplements for what they feel is the root problem I have a doctor formerly associated with Mayo Clinic that has practiced 25 years. Their practice...
