  1. Glutened recently, in the flu like bit DH came home and made me spag bol from scratch Fortunately the board was down while he was making it, so I didn't send it back or demand a side (dish)of bacon
  2. Noooo! Bacon is nourishing for the soul. Surely that counts? I reckon I could load the dishwasher. Not unload though. Hate that job.
  3. Just got my 1st crockpot!! So, fingers crossed pork (loin!) with leeks onions carrots with sage and tarragon. Put a few bits of potato, hoping it will thicken a bit. More excited than is reasonable
  4. Dreadful isn't it? I asked a number of doctors for help with weight loss over the years. Several have said eat less and exercise more. D'oh, if only I thought of that...

  10. Just off to make pork and leek casserole maybe with parsnips. Tempted to sneak in Brussel sprouts and swede (do you call it that?) But know I wouldn't get away with it.

  12. I ended up giving up ALL alcohol in the end, but vodka was the worst for me. I once came out in hives head to toe within 3 minutes of drinking melon vodka. Wish I had worked it out then instead of 15 years later. I am now looking forward to being psychotically vigilent.
  13. Oh yes, getting older. Since I turned 40, it seems every time I go to the doctor I have something which is very common in women over 40. Grrr
  14. My mum was diagnosed with M.E (chronic fatigue) in her 40s, when no one knew what it was and she got sent to a shrink. It was tough as a teenager to see it. I knew she was ill. Now I know about celiac, I think it may be that. She doesn't want to get tested or see a doctor and bring it all up again. I think she is afraid after her experiences with doctors...

  16. 1st time here! Making me hungry reading.... Sunday dinner is Very fresh sea bass filets (moved to the coast this year and if you get there at the right time can see what the fishermen have brought in) Baked with butter and fresh parsley. Little potatoes, green beans and carrots. Mmmm Mw .
  17. Investigate, please!!! My son had bad colic and always had a bad reaction to formula. I did mixed feeding, breast and formula. He hated cows milk. He now eats yogurt and ice cream but no milk or cheese. He now has asthma eczema hayfever and severe nut allergy, all classic atopic stuff.
