  1. Pork, sweet potato, carrots, broccoli
  2. Terrible business. Got everything crossed for you and yours x
  3. Stir fry tonight, turkey, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms rice and gluten-free soy sauce. Looks like a few steps back then start the reintroductions again next week.
  4. Managed a bit of sweet potato and a cheese omelette. Much happier now
  5. Well, dinner in the next 20 minutes and still a bit rough. Got to try and find something quick for the glutenhedz that doesn't make me want to hurl. And something for me, the same.. Tomorrow will be better
  6. I reckon I look 30 lbs lighter having lost half that. 60 real ones to go. Sadly not all of that inflammamation. Gotta.keep at it now I am on the way, and healing too.
  7. My other fave is 'Imagination is more important than knowledge'. And he was a fellow dyslexic, so bonus points there too. And stubborn is good.
  8. Ah, hormones! Tried some rice, so fingers crossed. I was going to reintroduce Friday, so not a very clean day to try, but with 2 little ones due home gotta do something.... I think I will try gluten-free oats in a few weeks, I would love those back. Really pleased for you IH. You folks here never cease to be an inspiration. Your stories of strength...
  9. Ah, interesting. Yesterday I saw a story the UK may lose the penny. With your money man heading our way it is all starting to make sense. On the baby thing, do whatever you want. I am not very good at doing what I am told, and ignore wedding gift lists, choosing what I want to send. I don't expect to see my gifts proudly displayed in their house. ...
  10. Hmmm. Trying not to think about dinner. Been sick today, could be bug, period stuff or the big g. Whichever, I don't have any of my normal go to foods so a bit stuck. Cooked some rice, but don't fancy it yet. Maybe egg later. I think it may be my own fault for raising the bacon cake thing, eugh. Still cheerful, broadly, but a bit less smug
  11. Just for moment there I thought Irish was going to wow us with a bacon cake recipe, thus fulfilling all our cake and protein requirements in one easy step. I may not be eating it at the moment, but I am certainly pro cake.
  12. Great being able to walk isn't it? I am now walking a good distance doing the school run. I am tired but thankful every day
  13. So – my Whole30 experience (a bit epic, apologies ) I decided that going gluten free had started me on the road to recovery, but there was still a way to go. I had previously done elimination through doing Atkins (when I worked out wheat was a problem. If only I realised then what gluten was...). I knew I needed to clean up, and that I couldn’t han...
  14. Hey buddy, we did it! Off on school run, so more details later, but headline is 14lbs, 3 and half inches of my waist and more energy than in years
  15. Probably as well you couldn't make it for lunch and a celebratory end of Whole30 icecream then
  16. Mmm I like 2nd day soups and stews. Not sure about dinner yet, but nearly had chaos at kids teatime. We had their friends round, and I checked if there was ice cream in the freezer, did a big ' who wants ice creeeeeam?' only then to discover that it was in fact a very nice frozen stew in an old tub. Whoops. Yogurt is good, but not quite the same. Luckily...
  17. Last day of whole30 today, and feeling great even though the time of the month is due . Tomorrow, cheese :). Oh, and weigh in...
  18. Yes, I should have said more clearly, ignore the dietician if you want to. As I always like to say, go with your gut . I think nhs dieticians are trained to persuade people not to cut out major food groups. I may not have been entirely accurate in my description of what I was planning to eat after my elimination diet :)
  19. I had to ditch most of the processed gluten-free food within 6 weeks. I don't know which ingredients upset me, but I have given it up mostly now. I think corn/maize.were maybe a problem, plus all the extra sugar. I have read here about lots of people who struggle with them. I am not sure about the allergy side of things. I think I would at least want epipens...
  20. I am soooo in love with coconut oil at the moment PS no swaps thanks. Just starting to warm up a bit here. Almost spring like. Irish, walk on the beach and lunch at mine then?
  21. Shows up the gluteny crumbs of said small children a treat though, no one gets away with saying they didn't know the table needed wiping...
  22. We had foam like that last year after storms. It was hilarious, but very odd. IH, maybe you could get some bright lights and cocktails or something. Or maybe this is the perfect time to start practicing speaking dolphin to get ready? Oh, more lamb encores with tomatoes and stuff.
  23. Ah, but these are at least scrubable. Most of it came off with oven cleaner. Given how much I wipe off on a daily basis I dread to think what the real state of our old chairs was. The sofas are shades of brown (plus yogurt). One day I walked in to find that in the 2 minutes I was in the kitchen my daughter had covered her arms, legs and the sofa in yogurt...
  24. Hmmm. My nice new white chairs gained some interesting new blue scribbles this morning. Grrr.
  25. Yep - lamb encores, with mushroom and tomato, cooked in garlic and coconut milk. My tastebuds have gone really weird since this elimination diet. I had tuna with stir fried brussell sprouts and anchovies for lunch. Worse than when I was pregnant I think (and before you ask, nooooooo) I was thinking a different thing on rate my professor, ooops.....
