mine have been lighter and shorter too since i've been diagnosed.....by shorter i mean like 2 days long.....although i still sometimes have cramping, depending on how badly i give into my chocolate and soda craving habits.....this month i've been good. some months are horrible!! but darn it, sometimes you just need some chocolate.

PA is stepping it up!! first the dillsburg store, now this one!!! i'm very excited

i recently heard something about grits no longer being considered gluten free........i wasn't sure if this was just certain brands, or grits in general? have you heard anything about that?
-
sometimes i react to certain gluten free foods just because they are a lot heavier in substance than my body is used to, especially the breads. i've noticed too with a lot of gluten free products they try to make up for taste with massive amounts of sugar, which can also have an affect on the body if you aren't used to that much sugar.
i know if i get too much sugar i feel pretty dopey myself

vydorscope i'm going through the same thing.....i mean i have a reaction with ice cream but not so much with cheese and milk.....and there are some days where i am super careful about what i eat and it seems like those are my worst days. i had some tests done and aparently my body had too much bad bacteria and not even good bacteria, so i'm one some sweet greek named supplements and they scheduled more allergy tests and a complete scope for the first week in may.
honestly , my saving grace besides immodium, which is just a given. has been exercising. I was a college athlete who busted my knee all to hell and decided to take some time off from the whole working out business. i just recently got back into it and have been sticking with it and it has done wonders on how i feel...maybe it was the mental aspect for me but as the weather gets nicer and you get to go outside more with that adorable son of yours hopefully you'll start feeling better.

Okay, I confess I can not tell if I got glutne from CC somehow or if I am now dairy intolerent. So before i do any testing I wat to to a trial period dairy free. My problem is I need FAST and PORTABLE breakfast ideas that are DF/gluten-free. I am used to eating a gluten-free ceral with milk cause that works well at my desk at work. I bring it in a lunch bag with ice pack, milk seperate of course, and that works very well. Ive even gotten acustom to forgetting a spon and have a big box of plasitc spoons in my desk draw
Ive tried soy milk in my cearel... EW!, Almound milk is just to nutty for my tastes, and Rice Milk is way to sweet eply added to cearel that already has too much sugar in it.
Soooo whats left ? Any suggestions?
i ate cold pizza you know whats funny, i'm having the same problem. all of the sudden i'm not sure if i'm dairy intolerent because i keep feeling so sick...i usually do toast for a fast breakfast

for the record, maybe he just said "cancer doctor" because some people wouldn't know what an oncologist is....there are many forms of doctors and I myself do not know them all.
I'm just saying people, let's cut radman some slack, he came on here to get some help which i believe many people have given him, but to question who he says he is and what he says he does....well we could start a jerry springer topic board...i'm sure it'd be good for a laugh or two.
radman-
i'd follow the diet as best as you can, like many have said, there really is no point in getting and feeling sick if you can prevent it~

Chiropractors have been my saving grace more times than once. I remember a point where I saw every doctor imaginable because i was getting these really bad headaches and passing out, even a neurologist didn't understand. Turns out my vertibrae was off balance and pinching a nerve. Honestly, I played field hockey all through college, I have since graduated but through the knee, shoulder and any other pain you can imagine with a sport, the chiropractor was my main man. I believe a lot of people spend thousands of dollars trying to fix back pain and things when all they need is a little chiro in their life. I would suggest it to anyone, no reason to be scared to anything. i love it! Dr. Walker in Hanover, PA has been the best. He always knows when I'm due for a check up and can tell when something about me has changed, like my activity or my diet. He's been my chiro for YEARS and has helped me out so much. Just makes you feel so much better when you're all "fixed up" as he says. Which when you have our issues, every little bit helps....

I've gotten sick off of cocoa puffs too.......i believe that some of the early boxes of the new formula version could have some cross contamination factors...i just am steering clear of that until it's been on the market longer
-
lisa i'm in the same position as you......i've missed class all the time because of pain and getting sick, to the point that people think i'm a hypochondriac. i finally went back to the GI and said do everything and anything you can because i'm following my gluten free diet strictly and still not doing well. so i figured something else was wrong......don't worry you aren't alone!!! hang in there and keep the immodium handy

i liked the ian's nuggets MUCH better than the wellshire farms nuggets.....the ones shaped like dinosaurs haha...they're spicey ....and the fish sticks were good. i just had a bit of an incident with them getting dethawed then refreezing them and eating them later
moral of the story. don't do that.

before you eat eggs from anywhere be SUPER careful!!!!!!!!! some breakfast places put pancake batter in the eggs to make them appear fluffier....i know that IHOP does this for sure, ever since then i've asked everyone. that suprise was not a good one.

There is that blood test to test for food allergies....be careful though, I have Highmark insurance and they don't cover it because they think it is "experimental" which then was 145 bucks out of my pocket.....from what my GI Dr. said to the best of his knowledge all other insurance companies cover the test.

i HATE when people are rude and snippy on message boards.
I also HATE when you can't tell a tone through internet communication.
On that note i HATE when people take your tone the wrong way.
I HATE HATE HATE that when i got back to my apartment the bedroom was flooded and it now stinks like mildew in my entire apartment.
I HATE that my landlord is worthless.
I hate feeling sick even though i'm supposed to be feeling better.
and i HATE when people say things like DD and DH and i have no idea what that means

i was just telling you what i was told when i talked to them......i never claim to be an expert it's a pretty normal occurance for me to be wrong..i've not had a reaction with the activia and i only ate it to give it a try....sorry for being wrong...glad that you set me straight! yogourt isn't my favorite anway ha, so i don't eat it much
although, you aren't the only one who has called so the whole "it was me on the phone remember" and the "i do know what i'm talking about on this" kinda isn't necessary, i was by no means calling you a liar or saying what you were saying was incorrect nor implying that you didn't know what you were talking about....just saying that my experience when i phoned them was a different one.

How Bad Is Wheat In Shampoo?
in Meet Up Room
Posted
honestly, i use shampoos with wheat or oat in them. i've never had much of a problem. awhile back there was even a little test on here like putting baking soda in your shampoo and seeing how much you get in your mouth and i didn't get any....i think it's up to you to decide and see, obviously if you have DH you can't use it but if not, everyone makes their own choice :)i believe i'm one of the rare ones who doesn't use all gluten free products.....either way! good luck!
