  1. honestly, i use shampoos with wheat or oat in them. i've never had much of a problem. awhile back there was even a little test on here like putting baking soda in your shampoo and seeing how much you get in your mouth and i didn't get any....i think it's up to you to decide and see, obviously if you have DH you can't use it but if not, everyone makes their own choice :)i believe i'm one of the rare ones who doesn't use all gluten free products.....either way! good luck!

  2. sometimes i react to certain gluten free foods just because they are a lot heavier in substance than my body is used to, especially the breads. i've noticed too with a lot of gluten free products they try to make up for taste with massive amounts of sugar, which can also have an affect on the body if you aren't used to that much sugar.

i know if i get too much sugar i feel pretty dopey myself :)

  3. vydorscope i'm going through the same thing.....i mean i have a reaction with ice cream but not so much with cheese and milk.....and there are some days where i am super careful about what i eat and it seems like those are my worst days. i had some tests done and aparently my body had too much bad bacteria and not even good bacteria, so i'm one some sweet greek named supplements and they scheduled more allergy tests and a complete scope for the first week in may.

honestly , my saving grace besides immodium, which is just a given. has been exercising. I was a college athlete who busted my knee all to hell and decided to take some time off from the whole working out business. i just recently got back into it and have been sticking with it and it has done wonders on how i feel...maybe it was the mental aspect for me but as the weather gets nicer and you get to go outside more with that adorable son of yours hopefully you'll start feeling better.

  4. Okay, I confess I can not tell if I got glutne from CC somehow or if I am now dairy intolerent. So before i do any testing I wat to to a trial period dairy free. My problem is I need FAST and PORTABLE breakfast ideas that are DF/gluten-free. I am used to eating a gluten-free ceral with milk cause that works well at my desk at work. I bring it in a lunch bag with ice pack, milk seperate of course, and that works very well. Ive even gotten acustom to forgetting a spon and have a big box of plasitc spoons in my desk draw

Ive tried soy milk in my cearel... EW!, Almound milk is just to nutty for my tastes, and Rice Milk is way to sweet eply added to cearel that already has too much sugar in it.

Soooo whats left ? Any suggestions?

i ate cold pizza B) you know whats funny, i'm having the same problem. all of the sudden i'm not sure if i'm dairy intolerent because i keep feeling so sick...i usually do toast for a fast breakfast

  5. for the record, maybe he just said "cancer doctor" because some people wouldn't know what an oncologist is....there are many forms of doctors and I myself do not know them all.

I'm just saying people, let's cut radman some slack, he came on here to get some help which i believe many people have given him, but to question who he says he is and what he says he does....well we could start a jerry springer topic board...i'm sure it'd be good for a laugh or two.

    radman-

i'd follow the diet as best as you can, like many have said, there really is no point in getting and feeling sick if you can prevent it~

  6. lisa i'm in the same position as you......i've missed class all the time because of pain and getting sick, to the point that people think i'm a hypochondriac. i finally went back to the GI and said do everything and anything you can because i'm following my gluten free diet strictly and still not doing well. so i figured something else was wrong......don't worry you aren't alone!!! hang in there and keep the immodium handy

  7. There is that blood test to test for food allergies....be careful though, I have Highmark insurance and they don't cover it because they think it is "experimental" which then was 145 bucks out of my pocket.....from what my GI Dr. said to the best of his knowledge all other insurance companies cover the test.

  12. i wasn't saying that steroids are given to help with my celiac. there are other issues going on that are causing problems with my stomach and steroids is aparently the solution. I'm not a doctor and I don't really claim to be, Mine if trustworthy and i listen to him.....i just know that steroids in general cause people to gain weight and that my stomach is messed up thanks due to celiac disease. see the connection.
