  1. I am a firm believer that a good hand rinse and a run in the dishwasher is good enough. I would replace your scratched Teflon pots and pans. But I would do that gluten free or not. A private toaster is a must and I have a separate colander for my gluten free pasta. And make sure your fiancee is good about cleaning up after himself. And no smooching...
  2. Nope. They are rotissarized in the deli section of our local Food Lion, and packaged hot in a little tote box, and labeled Purdue. Pretty good, but not too sure you have a Food Lion in your new neck of the woods. http://www.perdue.com/products/details.asp?id=606&title=PERDUE%AE%20Oven-Roasted%20Rotisserie%20Chicken Here ya go: http://www.perdue...
  3. What is gluten free in one area of the country/world, may not be in the other. I would assume that large grocery chain stores have various suppliers, who may use different ingredients in their products. I don't know that as a fact, but it makes sense to me.
  4. Yummy I do love lamb shanks. But they are hard to get here without a special order. You have lambs, we have.....um, pigs. I made beef/pork BBQ in the Crock. Second time I have used a crock pot, but everyone was very pleased with the results. That's a good thing. ...with cole slaw and mac & cheese. Country tonight. Feel better soon Loves...
  5. Perdue, Grocery Store Rotisserie Whole Chickens, are gluten free in our area.
  6. I think the issue of cross contamination is HIGHLY overrated. Only a small percentage of the members here are sensitive enough to be affected by miniscule amounts of cross contamination. As Peter mentioned, Kraft is a very reliable company that will list ALL forms of gluten on their ingredient listing, which is not required by law, as only wheat is required...
  7. Yes... www.pinterest.com and join.
  8. I prepared an entree I found on Pinterest. A salmon steak topped with crushed pistachios, brown sugar, lemon juice and dill weed. Bake at 400 degrees for a few minutes. I served it over rice and a side of fresh asparagus. Very yummy and super duper easy!
  9. All though interesting, very interesting, I don't see a connection to Celiac Disease.
  10. Ribs with Emeril's Rib Rub Bush's Baked Beans - doctored up Fennel and Cucumber Salad
  11. Philadelphia Cream Cheese is manufactured by Kraft. Products of Kraft will disclose all sources of gluten will be included on the labeling. If you have information that indicates otherwise, please post it. Yes? Gluten free labeling in the US is totally voluntary, currently. At this point in time, learning to read a label might serve you better...
  12. Paula Deans Shrimp Etouffee....it was yummy! But, what's the difference between white pepper and black pepper, other than color?
  13. He didn't offer to take me out, so.... Quiche, country sausage and potato pancakes.
  14. Roasted leg of lamb, marinaded in rosemary garlic and lots of other stuff, served with mint jelly. Brown and wild rice and peas. I threw in two whole cloves of garlic to roast and will make garlic butter adding finely chopped fresh parsley....great with baked potatoes with a zazz.
  15. HOW CAN YOU LIVE UP THERE! MOVE SOUTH!!!!!
  16. Taco's for the girlpals tonight. Come on over!
  17. Okay...I've been thinkin' this for a while now... you and your hubby must weigh five thousand pounds by now. ...or do you secretly eat Rice Check for dinner.
  18. Guess that's good? ...OOOOH, your fried chicken was good.
  19. Marilyn, I made your Arabic Stew and it was great and I have found a wonderful new adventure.....turmeric! I put some in the stew as well, with some smoked paprika. It was wonderful and made for a great presentation too. Thank you for teaching me about this new seasoning.
  20. Lemons? Is it the acid?
  21. Uggg...I'm so tired of cooking over the holidays. But, made some chicken salad, as promised for a family friend who is the local bartender and he "hooks me up". My chicken salad has cranraisins, toasted almonds and lots of celery with fresh tarragon from the garden.
  22. Aly, Being newly to the diet, that's an awesome task, in itself. I would suggest you take small steps and master the gluten free diet. It took me several months to master it. I would certainly suggest that you concentrate on your food intake for now. Master that, then move on to other things as necessary. Cigar smoke should not be on your gluten...
