This happens to me all the time. I hate it! I look back on everything I ate and it seems fine but then your not feeling great. I keep thinking that this happens because I am not completly healed yet. I understand the frustration.

I am so glad to hear you liked the cookie. I had a chocolate one that I hated. I am willing to try the banana cookie.

For example alot of antibiotics have gluten. Of course I cannot remember which ones, sorry.

I have found it at Whole Foods, Wild Oats and Vitamin Cottage (a semi local health food chain).

I think if my dh said that to me I might explode from anger! This is a auto immune disease! If it was a psch problem I would see a shrink!
Maybe some re-education might do him some good.

1-Being able to order whatever I want at a resturant without having to explain a thing!
2-Sourdough bread
3-oreos
I had to think real hard on the last one. I think that is a good sign!

I wish I knew what they were talking about! I have never heard of such a thing.

I have been gluten-free for six months. I am just now starting to feel better. I have been glutened a few times which has sent my recovery back. It took me awhile to figure out lipstick, lotion (got glutened from) and shampoo. I still have more bad days than good.
The times I have been glutened I have felt it within a few hours. It seems to take me 3 weeks to recover. Not quick!
My gi also told me that bm may never be "normal" (once a day). The gi said it might be several times a day for me, but not the d.
Healing seems to be a very slow process. I am with you! I am ready to feel better all the time!

Don't ask, tell them to do a blood test. I thought it was recomended for children to be tested every 2 to 4 years if one of their parents has celiac disease. I get reall angry when I have to fight for my health care!

I would also look into the possiblility of a peanut allergy. My friend's son has a peanut allergy. When he was little and would have peanut butter the reaction was very mild (congestion, redness around the mouth). Now 3 years later the reaction is much more serious (trip to hospital).

I was dx with bloodwork and endoscopy. Had been very sick for about 5 months. The endoscopy showed extensive damage (according to dr). I am slowly recovering and feeling better.

Someone told me to that Farley's candy corn is gluten-free. I bought some yesterday and there is a statement about possible cross contamination. I ate some anyway!

Thank you.

I also ate out tonight. It is my dh birthday and it is a tradition to go to Old Chicago's (pizza, pasta). He of course said that we didn't have to go. But he has been so supportive and careful I figured he deserved a beer and pizza on his day. Of course there was absolutely nothing I could eat. I knew this ahead of time and ate beforehand. I ordered a side salad. So far feeling good. I did feel like everyone around us was staring at me. Thinking that skinny lady needs to eat something other than a tiny salad! It was sad, no getting around it.

I am fairly new to the board so I am somewhat confused on the search feature. For example I remember reading a thread on protein bars. Yet when I did a search it did not come up on the first page. It was on the second page. Am I doing something wrong? I would think it would be the first thing to come up since it is an exact match. Maybe I just do not understand this feature. When I do a search I usually go to the appropriate topic area and then type in my search. It is frustrating to not find somthing I know is there. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

I have done the bone scan and it was easy and painless! It is good to do it now (sometime in the next six months) to get a good baseline of where you are at. That way they can look to future scans to see how your bones compare.
My doctor also did bloodwork for vitamins. I can't remember which vitamins but the bloodwork was good so I did not pay much attention.

I just recently tried the chebe mix for pizza sticks. It was very easy to work with and turned out great. You could try just making small rolls for dinner and see if this fills in the void.

I remember crying because I will never eat my children's wedding cake. Or that when my daughter sells girl scout cookies (I love) that I will not be able to eat them. For me it is the emotional attachment that bugs me more than the food itself. I usually have my pity party and realize that this will soon pass.

The cheese whiz was just opened. I am thinking it was something else. I can not seem to eat alot at dinner. When I do I feel like I have been glutened, even though I know what I made was gluten-free.

You might try Kinnnicknnick (sp) bread or the Whole Foods bread. Both types I like. From my experience gluten-free bread is a bit crumbly but you do get used to it. I think it helps to toast the bread.
I have never heard to not use canola oil, sorry no help there!

For those mornings when I really have to grab something and go I like the glutino (sp) bars (think nutragrain bars). They come in three flavors apple, blueberry and chocolate. I have never tried the chocolate, another post said it was gross. But I like the other flavors. Very quick.

I have been gluten-free since April and am just now feeling better. It takes a long time to really have a gluten-free house. Just a month ago I got rid of shampoo and make up because I was not sure I was gluten-free. It takes time. Also it takes longer than a week for me to feel better after getting glutened. He may still be recovering from the gluten in the toothpaste.
As someone else wrote it took a long time to do all the damage. It will take awhile to undo the damage and heal. Tell hubby to be patient and keep on the gluten-free diet.

I am having a HUGE craving for candy corn (that time of year). I know that Brach's will not say that their products are gluten-free due to possible cross contamination issues. My question is has anyone had the Brach's candy corn and gotten sick?

I remember when my Mom was a vegetarian and would eat meat (even a few bites) she would get sick. Could this be possible? Just a thought!
