  1. I am the Queen of fainting. I have been experiencing it since I was a little kid. I have had a few evaluations, but nothing has come up. Buying a house? That is SO stressful on top of a new celiac disease diagnosis. Things will improve! I promise. ?

  4. I suggest getting tested for celiac disease if you suspect gluten could be an issue and have your doctor also test for a wheat allergy. My facial swelling is due to allergic reactions and not celiac disease.

  7. Welcome! Did you get a celiac blood test prior to your procedure? If so, and the celiac disease antibodies test was positive, you may just be starting to develop celiac disease. If you have not had antibodies testing, then you may have something else.

  10. I am not a doctor, but I think it means that you could very well have celiac disease because you had a positive on one of the blood tests and you had an abnormal biopsy.   13. Four months is still a short amount of time. I have suffered from insomnia. Like you, I can fall asleep, but usually wake at 4:00. I attribute my insomnia to hormonal shifts as I experience hot flashes. Let’s hope others who have experienced insomnia will chime in.

  15. While I was diagnosed five years ago with celiac disease, my hubby went gluten free 17 years ago per the poor advice from 2 medical doctors (poor meaning not getting tested). The diet worked. He refuses to do a challenge. Why do you want to get tested now when it is obvious that gluten is making you sick?

  18. I am also glad, but I would definitely report your PCP. As a medical doctor, he should be protecting the best interests of the children. It is well known that celiac disease is genetic. There is no excuse for it in my personal opinion.

  21. All the flours should be certified gluten free. Studies have shown that many naturally gluten free flours can be cross contaminated at the mill. The tart pan has many crevices.   22. It sounds like you really want to have a formal diagnosis. If so, stay the course, as you can not tell by symptoms alone as they often overlap with so many illnesses. How do you know you have Hashimoto’s?
  23. At this point, consider just going gluten free and be done with it. While I am formally diagnosed, my hubby is not. He has been gluten free for 17 years (12 years earlier than me). The goal is to feel well, isn’t it?

  25. I have test positive to ONLY the DGP IgA even in follow-up testing many times yet I had moderate to sever intestinal damage. Ask the NP to run the entire panel or find a lab that can run the tests for you. If that is not possible, find another MD. You are the paying customer!
