I think you are on the right path. Your numbers have gone down. It can take well over a year for those to drop in the normal range. And they might not ever drop into the normal range. If so, I think you have to gauge how you feel (symptoms). The gluten-free diet has a steep learning curve. I was lucky. My husband had been gluten-free for 12 years...

What Can You Eat If You Have Celiac Disease?
cyclinglady replied to Bags's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Juicing is fine as long as you are not diabetic (Type 2/insulin resistant) gluten-free need not be expensive if you avoid processed foods which are not good for anyone as we have learned over the last 40 years or so. Feel free to shop budget stores. Know that things like rice can last for years in pantry if kept in sealed containers. I buy rice... -
What Can You Eat If You Have Celiac Disease?
cyclinglady replied to Bags's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
hi Bags! Any of those markets are fine when you are shopping for fresh fruit and vegetables, and processed foods. I try to buy my meats that come straight from a processor at a grocery store like Publix. Like chicken or turkey. If I am buying pork or beef, I shop Costco. That is because they only cut meat. They are not stuffing pork chops... -
Hi Chris! If I recall you are struggling with pain and neuropathy. Nerve damage can take a long time to heal, if healing is even possible. I would hate for you to give up so many foods. Have you tried a 4 or 7day food rotation diet? This can help to avoid or calm down a food intolerance or allergy. In theory, you give you body some time (a...

Suppliment CeliAct
cyclinglady replied to NewToGF89's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It looks to be gluten free. Is that what you are asking? Other than taking iron for the few months (as prescribed by my doctor), I take no vitamins. With healing, I am absorbing my nutrients through food. Now, if you feel like you are Vitamin and mineral deficient, you should see your doctor and ask for testing. Ask for antibodies testing too... -
Welcome! GFinDC has given you excellent advice. Healing does take time. Expect setbacks. And who would expected a pandemic? The added stress is huge and can impact your health. Try not to worry about the diet. I know, easier said than done. I have yet to see a toothpaste with gluten. Know that most gluten-free labeled foods are really...

am i crazy because im a girl??
cyclinglady replied to Gina777's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Do not accept that this is all in your head! Your university doctor might have thought your itchy, pimply facial rash may have been lupus, but was rosacea ruled out? It is common with celiac disease and autoimmune thyroiditis (that too can cause hair loss). Just measuring TSH is is not acceptable. A full thyroid panel, including thyroid antibodies... -
@Kate333 Congratulations on getting your TTG number down! You are definitely on the right track. It can take up to a year or longer for antibodies to normalize. But do not worry so much about the blood tests. Try to base your health on your symptoms. Celiac disease antibodies testing was designed to help diagnose but not monitor dietary compliance...

Kraft caramel bits
cyclinglady replied to rocco327's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I disagree. Kraft does a good job of disclosing their ingredients. They can not promise that the Carmel’s are gluten free because they do not test them. But think about it. They make a ton of this stuff. Odds of cross contamination are probably very low. https://www.beyondceliac.org/gluten-free-diet/is-it-gluten-free/caramel/ I stopped c... -
Dental Floss
cyclinglady replied to TGK112's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use this product and I have healed from celiac disease based on repeat biopsies. How can you be sure that this floss was the culprit for sure? Liver enzymes can be out of range for many reasons: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325838#causes I thought for sure I was experiencing active celiac disease symptoms. I could not... -
The Original poster on this thread struggled with non-responsive celiac disease. If I recall, Type I refractory. I guess I am at odds with your response. I use this product and I have healed from celiac disease based on repeat biopsies. How can you be sure that this floss was the culprit for sure? Liver enzymes can be out of range for many reasons. ...

should i get a new doctor
cyclinglady replied to DJFL77I's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Here is the deal. Medical is constantly reviewing and changing recommendations. I just looked up the University of Chicago’s FollowUp recommendations. It no longer recommends all this additional vitamin and mineral testing: https://www.cureceliacdisease.org/wp-content/uploads/341_CDCFactSheets7_PostDiagnosis.pdf Yet others still do: https:/... -
A gluten challenge, which should be supervised by a medical doctor, is consuming gluten daily for 6 to 12 weeks with the goal of getting antibody testing for celiac disease (only 2 to 4 weeks if going directly to endoscopy). if you do have celiac disease, and if you consume gluten, it sets off an autoimmune response. This means your gut is being...

I am not saying he is a quack, but this doctor is a chiropractor by training. He is into nutrition and he wants to sell his books. He does no research and is not a recognized celiac disease researcher. Get your information from leading celiac disease research centers. Ones that are not trying to sell you something. Or get information from the non-profits...

Not true. Celiacs can tolerate rice well. It is the one grain that is definitely safe for 99% of celiacs. Many celiacs do have issues with corn based on reports from Celiac.com members. Some celiacs may have issues with millet and sorghum just as I can not have garlic or onions. It is a personal and unique intolerance. Not common at all unlike a soy...

Pain - referred gastric or something else?
cyclinglady replied to cristiana's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
They will. It was contaminated. The drug was effective. The drug companies just need to insure that China will accept oversight from foreign government agencies or manufacture it somewhere other than China or India (they allow FDA oversight, but have had many violations). -
Pain - referred gastric or something else?
cyclinglady replied to cristiana's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Didn’t you mention that your cervical and thoracic sections of your back were messed up? I have had compressions fractures in my back due to osteoporosis (due to undiagnosed celiac disease). Movement can cause shift in the discs that can cause weird pain and sensations that can come and go. I have issues with my neck now causing neurological issues w... -
are face masks gluten free?
cyclinglady replied to DJFL77I's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes. I can not imagine using gluten in them. I am assuming you mean N-95 or disposable surgical masks? -
Scott is right. Food intolerances are common and can develop at anytime. It is best to keep a journal of what you eat and symptoms. This will help you identify food intolerances. Those can make you sick, but not damage your small intestine the way gluten can. Peanut butter normally is fine. I buy Kirkland (Costco) brand. It is 100% peanuts...

You have been gluten free since the Fall of 2019. I am not sure if you will register any antibodies at all. Small tiny amounts of gluten over the course of the last few months may not be enough to show on a test. So, consider a gluten challenge. The only way to know for sure if your blood sugar drops is to use a glucose meter or have a lab test...

Nope. This is a certified gluten-free brownie mix. It is gluten free. I would eat them. But I do not have any intolerances. You might have a corn intolerance. Almost 98% of clearly marked gluten free products are really gluten free. Certified gluten-free has even a lower threshold less than 10 ppm but that means the top of the range. There...

Please do not think that you can not develop celiac disease because you are black, South African or that no one in your family has had celiac disease. Since you had the pie, consider going back on a normal gluten diet for 6 to 12 weeks and then ask for celiac disease testing. If you want to improve your health while you are consuming gluten, avoid junk...
