  1. Rachel, Doctor's office called yesterday...blood tests were negative for celiac. I asked about needing to eat gluten until the day of the biopsy...answer is yes. I hope that I have enough time from Nov. 22 to January 15 to eat a good amt. for the biopsies to be accurate. Good thing is that I have planned/made a list of all the things/places...
  2. BMorrow- I had blood tests last Monday for celiac disease. My new gastroenterologist has scheduled both an endoscopy and colonoscopy in January.   3. From what I've read on this site and a book I bought, it takes a while to recover even if you are gluten free. Supposedly, your intestines aren't healed for a while (time varies by person). How long have you been gluten free?
  4. I haven't been diagnosed yet. Will see a gastro in early Nov. But have been gluten free since the middle of August. I have cheated twice ( 1/3 of a veggie calzone and a kid's Happy Meal)- of course at different times. Really set me back both times for at least 4 days each time. Pretty bad to be on vacation and can't really enjoy all the food you used...

The first time I had an attack, I was seeing a general surgeon to prepare for a procedure (not related to digestive issues) but was so sick, swollen, insides sore..mentioned it to him...he said it sounded like colitis (been sick for a couple of days, so he said that it would take a couple of more days to get over). After that, I began having other problems...
  6. I haven't been actually diagnosed yet....had an attack the other week and family dr. put me on a gluten free diet...feel better, but man is it a hard diet to get used to. My follow up appt. is tomorrow- I think I'm gonna request the blood tests, even though I am better. After reading the messages posted, I feel normal, too. Been having these type of problems...
