  1. I've eaten Jenny-O without any issues. Perhaps it is another intolerance but not gluten?
  2. Yeah... you are probably right. We learned a lot from this experience.
  3. Thanks Laura! I think you are right about letting your guy go out and eat at restaurants with friends. My boyfriend goes almost every Thursday for a boys dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. He gets to see his friends and eat outside the house. Sometimes when we are out shopping I'll tell him to go grab a burrito from our old favorite mexican restaurant. He eats...
  4. I survived my first gluten-free holiday season and did not get glutened! Woo!

  5. Thank you both for your replies. It made me feel a lot better about the situation. I discussed it further with my boyfriend and he did say this: 'when and if you have a normal GI for 3 months straight - we can discuss a shared kitchen - but honestly, it does not bother me one bit that we live gluten free in this house. I just want you to be healthy...
  6. So... a little background about my personal life. I live with my boyfriend in a rented house and we split bills and rent 50/50. We've been together for over a year now and he is, in my eyes, 'the one.' I've had several failed relationships and would like to think I have finally figured out what I want from a partner in my 10 years of dating experience. ...
  7. I am competitive like that, too! I'm hoping your levels will be down in January!!!
  8. So here is the break down from my blood test results Deaminated Gliadin Abs, IgA: 50.8 U/mL (8-20-13); 9.4 U/mL (12-11-13) TTG IgA Antibody: 74.0 U/ml (8-20-13); 12.0 U/mL (12-11-13) Reference Range for both is <7 U/mL Interesting to see this decrease for both becuase in October I did 3 weeks of gluten challenge. I'm shocked my body is able...
  9. I am the baby of my family too as far as siblings go. Thankfully my sister had kids. But that doesn't mean my mom doesn't nag us other 3 for grandbabies! I am not even married and she wants me to have babies for her! Haha they get baby fever or something! Hopefully some can get you off the hook soon! Thanks... I should have taken time off sooner...
  10. I'm sorry you had to give up your career. That would be just as hard if not harder! I was on disability for over 6 months due to my knee and my depression set in so bad because I felt worthless. Now I know that isn't the case but being a strong woman I knew I wanted to be self-sufficient and I just couldn't. It was a rough time. I'm glad you were smart...
  11. Thanks! I know that this is the best option for me.. I need to rest. People are pretty much shouting it at me and my body is going into full on freak out mode (I was up all night in the bathroom -- ugh). So I called and need to get my doctor to sign a waiver so I can cancel my contract with my trainer. that is a pain but hopefully she will do it. I...
  12. I'm sorry that you didn't get the results you wanted to see! Just stick to the diet and feel better. Hopefully you can recover quickly from the wreckage. ((Hugs))
  13. Thank you for the hugs. I don't like being the 'woe is me' type. It bothers me that my insides are not as strong as my outside looks. I will try to rest. I'm in the process of suspending my contract with my personal trainer so I can get serious with the resting business. It pains me though to do it.
  14. I figured it was time to vent through a blog post. Because I don't think anyone wants to keep hearing the same thing over and over again like a broken record. Here is a little background... In December of 2009 I slipped on an icy driveway before work and fractured my right kneecap into 3 pieces and dislocated it up and into my quadriceps muscle. I...
  15. Merle Haggard concert tonight in Napa!! So excited!

  16. I was always hungry, too! It's totally the gluten. It could also be exacerbated by TTOTM too but I blame gluten for 90%. ;) Hang in there!
  17. Mmmm mushroom risotto. It's been so long since I've made risotto.
  18. My dinner for the future while I am bulking is 5 oz of vegetables, 7 oz of sweet potato or 1/2 cup cooked brown rice and 3 oz of lean meat. Flavored with 2 tbsp of my choice in condiments. I know it may sound boring to most but I've found it to be really good. I can switch up the meat, the veggies, my carb and the condiment. I have unlimited choices!
  19. So tired today... almost 2 weeks gluten free. One of the worst fatigue days yet.

  20. I am in the process of cooking my first gluten free pizza!! I am using Bloomfield Farms dough mix with olives, gluten-free sausage, and mushrooms! I am beyond excited!
  21. Ugh Sorry to hear about your cold. Not fun! It probably is the gluten. It effs with everything.
  22. the nerd in me wants to see my histology slides from my biopsies taken Friday. Can't wait for my post procedure follow up!

Ugh I know exactly how you feel. Try not to worry too much about the weight gain (easier said than done). It will fall off again once you are done with the challenge.
  25. No - it is very firm. They said it could be a cyst or abscess but I have a pending CBC, chemistry, and they did an ultrasound yesterday so I will hopefully know what it is Monday. I hate waiting. I don't think it is related to the Celiacs but it is alarming none the less. I feel like a monster with this thing on my face!
