  1. FYI the frozen blueberry pancakes are being recalled because they are labeled dairy free and they contain milk. No risk if your only concern is gluten. https://news.google.com/news/more?ncl=dtPy9L13QeKksKMc8XAS6VO3JvK2M&authuser=0&ned=us&topic=m (taken from our article section)
  2. Has anyone been able to get information about the types of facilities and equipment these are processed on? I looked on their facebook page a few days back and there were a ton of people posting on there that they called corporate asking these questions and got nowhere. To me, the cheap price point is suspiciously low, and the few good tries I have given...
  3. I'm back after a couple day hiatus after my IVIG this month gave me the usual light sensitive headache. It goes away faster if I stay off the computer. I'm finally able to go off prednisone after a year of being on it... was at 5mg daily, now down to 4, after 4 weeks will go down to 2, then see the Rheumatologist again. I can't lose weight while on it...
  4. A huge amount of people react to things in body care products such as deodorant, and that is not celiac related. People with Celiac do not react to gluten in body products- that would be a seperate allergy and is extremely rare. Generally, Celiacs avoid gluten in products that could get in their mouth only. Hopefully you have seen a doctor and...
  5. Last night I made an awesome batch of pulled pork. Was a 2.5lb pork ribeye roast, put in the crockpot with some BBQ sauce (I use Stubbs), gluten-free soy sauce, and some seasonings, cooked on high for 1.5 hours, then low for 7 hours. Served over mashed potatoes and baked beans on the side. Eating that for dinner again today, I may make sandwiches.
  6. Which rice flour did you use? I am definitely going to try those!
  7. Tonight I am venturing up to a restaurant that serves GLUTEN FREE FRIED CHICKEN!! Technically I am taking my stepmom out for a mothers day dinner soooo... can't make it about me. But I have a feeling I will enjoy it very much. Making crock pot red beans with ham and cornbread for when my hubby gets home, I will probably nibble on that for lunch tomorrow...
  8. Most soft serve at fast food places is okay if you get it in a cup, usually easy to look up on their website. Chik fil a, Mcdonalds, Dairy Queen, and Sonic come to mind. Anything scooped is generally going to be CC'd. Braums in TX and OK has gluten-free soft serve frozen yogurt I like to get-in a cup. Some places that have an ice cream line, if they aren...
  9. Spaghetti with chebe cheese rolls on the side! I love those cheesy rolls so much, I could have just them for dinner.
  10. Got groceries today, picked up a brownie mix since I was craving them (HEB store brand, new item, not that good to boot. Should have gone with KAF.), and after I made it and pulled the pan out and set it on top of the stove, I reached to the top shelf of the upper cabinet to get my cooling rack down. Burnt myself on my tummy! So I blame you all for my...
  11. Oh my god why did I come back and read this when I am already craving things? Time to go rifle through my pantry and make something. Caramely brownies with nuts sounds sooooooooo gooooooood /drools on keyboard
  12. LOL Lisa I LOVE those! I want brownies now.... For lunch today I made up some black bean and sweet potato tacos. For dinner I am going to do breakfast for dinner. May need to go run out and get a brownie mix now though!
  13. If you and butter don't get along, adding just a little of some kind of fat source will help it be more creamy. Just try a tablespoon or two of whatever floats your boat. The mac n cheese uses the same sauce that they pair with their gluten filled version, it is really good.
  14. Hahaha! One time at outback I was asked if I wanted bread, so I exclaimed, "Oh my gosh you guys have gluten-free bread now? Thats awesome!!" And I made her feel bad. That was on purpose lol. Last time at our favorite steakhouse the server had obviously started to ask if we want dessert and ended up saying "Are you gonna be up for any... ice cream or...
  15. Franks Red Hot Mixed with Ranch makes a great buffalo dipping sauce for pretty much anything Especially chicken.
  16. Welcome to the forum, Meowndy. A fellow crazy cat lady? When you get a chance take a look at some of the discussions in the Super sensitive category. There are some things there that you may find helpful since the regular Celiac rules sometimes aren't enough for that group of people.
  17. I buy it regularly and really like it. White rice pasta can overcook, but not as easily as corn pasta, so don't overcook it, and yes it is better with the butter added. I haven't seen those! I would buy them once and enjoy, and then not again cause they are bad for me, haha.
  18. I do that all the time! I will pull out a recipe and change something and not write it down. I have gotten a little better, but still hang myself up sometimes, haha!
  19. My "Paula Deen Dinner" as I called it last night turned out great. Decided what the heck and made everything full fat and a ton of gravy on it all. Well I oven baked the breaded chicken because frying is a pain, but it was one of the best meals I have eaten in a long time. I was missing gluten filled chicken fried chicken. Tonight will be sauteed...
  20. Welcome to the forum, Maeve. Sorry you got glutened by those beans- I always buy Bush's. But do note that this whole thread is 4+ years old, and any info posted above has possibly changed.
  21. I have gotten into using white corn tortillas for everything. I will use Rudi's only if I am making quesadillas. Yellow corn for beef enchiladas. The white corn has a less corn-y flavor to it. So, yesterday I made steak with mini corns on the cob and broccoli/cauliflower/carrot blend. I also made pamelas baking mix banana nut muffins (on the bag...
  22. I am still sitting here wide mouthed after seeing that donut photo.... mmmmmm donut. One thing I do with recipes is bookmark if I think I may try it someday, hand write it if I am going to actually make it (unless it is really long) and then once I make it and put my notations on it, I have a long running word document that I copy/paste it onto and add my...
  23. Dinner tonight.. may not happen. Because I just baked a Betty Crockers gluten-free devils food cake mix and I have a tub of icing waiting to go in when it is cool enough. Hmmm, I guess I will whip up a little bit of real food but I am definitely leaving room for cake! (By the way for those who wonder why I post my dinners so late- I cook for when hubby...
  24. Wow, that looks really good!! I have gotten into sneaking veggies into things and feeding them to my husband but I think if I gave him a green soup he would make me sleep on the couch... haha. I would dig in to it, though. Last night I made pizza, yum yum yum. Used the premade crusts I ordered, not bad.
  25. People who complain about their $20 medicine copay need to be grateful. Just sent my IVIG doctor a four thousand dollar payment for January's treatment, something I have to have to stay alive.
