  1. I'm so sorry you had that experience, good to spread the word and raise awareness with the Celiac community, though. I am glad I never liked beer in the first place so I don't miss it.
  2. Short Answer is no. I have celiac disease and I also do not know when I am glutened. However I still had other less noticeable symptoms like anemia. You cannot just "get over" celiac disease or a gluten intolerance. Damage can go very slowly in some cases, and you would slowly poison yourself until you are back to square one. Head over to the top...
  3. If you want something better than classico, I really really like Monte Bene. I also like Mezzetta . Especially when you have just pasta plus sauce with not much else added, it is worth getting the higher priced ones.
  4. Yes, addy, you deserve cupcakes! I need to stop off at my gluten-free bakery this week now, haha. Today I had thawed out some chicken breasts but they were not thawed enough, so I will make grilled chicken with sweet potatoes and green beans tomorrow. Made gluten-free pizza today with the pillsbury crust.
  5. Monday I grilled up some little sirloin steaks on my george foreman and made peas and also potatoes au gratin to go with it. For my first try at the potatoes I did pretty good. Yesterday I basically cooked all day- I made a huge batch of beans to freeze some, and I made up five freezer meals that you put all the ingredients in a bag, freeze it, and then...
  6. Welcome to the forum, KBMC! If you post this post as a new forum topic you will probably get more replies because the blogs aren't as visible to everyone. A lot of celiacs cannot handle dairy and sometimes other foods, because celiac disease damages the intestinal lining, causing overall havoc. So you haven't been tested at all for celiac disease...
  7. Today I made chicken enchiladas for the first time. Turned out pretty well for a newbie, I am freezing some to eat for after my surgery so my hubby just has to throw them in the oven.
  8. Ugh I have to stop reading this thread, I really want chocolate now! The nutrition info i read on the website looks like the are okay, I am looking forward to their response to my email, I have a good feeling!
  9. Had genghis grill today for lunch, will make a light dinner later tonight, probably banana pancakes. Just make up a pancake mix of your choice and add a well-mashed (ovverripe is best) banana. If it is too thick add a little milk to get back to the consistency needed. Nomnomnom!
  10. Because I love nuts+chocolate+caramel combinations I wrote them tonight asking for updated allergy info. Will post when I get a reply.
  11. I would have love to see that! Tonight I am making cheeseburgers with baked beans. Keeping it simple tonight. Going to to some experiments this weekend and next week! Having my gallbladder removed on the 3rd, so I am making a lot of double recipes of stuff to freeze, and a couple freezer to crockpot meals that my hubby can do and I can do when not...
  12. Today I made a chicken stir fry with carrots, snow peas, and brown rice in a spicy sriracha sauce.
  13. So my grocery store I go to has a policy that if you find an expired item on the shelf, you get a non-expired one free. Went last week and half the Pillsbury gluten-free pizza doughs were dated Nov 2013. I got my free one and I always tell them, "There were more expired ones so you should probably send someone to go check all of them." Today, run in there...
  14. Tonight I got some small strip steaks, green beans, and risotto.
  15. Glad to hear you had a good meal. It sounds like you got lucky finding a pasta brand you like on the first try! Definitely do not have to miss out on pasta. Tonight I made chicken quesadillas with refried beans and fresh guac. Hubby hates it so more for me!
  16. I finally picked up some of those Breton crackers and I am a believer now. lol. Tonight is grilled chicken with sweet potatoes and carrots. An Orange meal, haha.
  17. Tonight, even though I can't stop thinking about the best pizza ever I ate yesterday and am tempted to go pick up another one.... haha... I am making red beans and rice. I make the beans in a crock pot (half recipe/half sized crock pot) via this recipe: http://www.plainchicken.com/2012/02/slow-cooker-red-beans-rice.html just no sausage today. I make...
  18. When I worked at a retail pharmacy, we had two families, one with a dog, one with a cat, who would come through the drive thru with their pets who had diabetes and get their insulin and syringes. One day I spoke to the lady with the cat in depth about it, and I asked her how she is able to stab her cat many times a day. She said her cat just seems to know...
  19. Welcome to the forum, lovely! (I re-read that and I imagine it in a British accent... lol) I like the way you think, avoiding CC. The Lettuce and Cheese that they grab with their hands, I will not eat off the line. They go through a ton, though, and always have some ready to refill the line in the back. So if they are not busy, I will ask them to...
  20. I was about to suggest that over super super expensive food, haha. You can make a ton at once and freeze it in feeding portions.
  21. Last night was chicken stir fry with brown rice noodles. Tonight will be grilled sirloin steaks with sweet corn on the cob and mashed potatoes.
  22. I recently saw a grater thing on TV, it must be new because I have never seen it. But it looks kind of like a pencil sharpener but you stick a zucchini/squash in it and twist, and you make noodle cuts. One end is wide noodles, one end is thin noodles. I can't easily find it with an internet search, although I am a bit tired and don't want to dig. Edit...
  23. Last night I made roast chicken leg quarters with BBQ seasoning, home fries, and broccoli. Yummm.
  24. A nap sounds dandy! Also don't drink and drive, people. And watch out for the crazies who do! Today for dinner I am making fried chicken tenders. I marinate them in buttermilk and sriracha, and dip them in cajun seasoned gluten-free bisquick. Something about the sweetness of the gluten-free bisquick really goes well with spicy chicken tenders. ...
  25. We went to outback today since we were out and it was too late to start cooking the stuff I got to make chicken tacos. I'll make them tomorrow.
