  1. Every time I see something new that is lindt, I take a look at the ingredients, and I have not yet found one that is safe. I wish there was. Definitely steer clear, and read every ingredient list, every time! Its always the mundane little things that get ya.
  2. Sees candy makes a Milk Chocolate Butter and Dark Chocolate Butter that I think match the outer/inner texture pretty well. They aren't spheres, just regular fancy chocolate candy shape. But they have that smooth center.... yum. I am craving chocolate now. But, I eat a lot of chocolate, probably way too much, and luckily I have a See's store semi-near...
  3. Ghirardelli is a good choice (they have shared equipment but great practices to clean lines in between), and my favorite is See's Candy, of which everything is now gluten-free. They are a bit pricey, though.
  4. Yep, Lindt used to be something I would treat myself with, one of the first things I learned was a no-go when I got diagnosed. Barley malt is something to watch for in chocolates, sadly. Hopefully your reaction isn't as bad this time, I don't think there is going to be a large amount of gluten from the barley malt (versus accidentally eating gluten pasta...
  5. Last night I made a big pot of beef stew, it is perfect for this cold weather. Tonight I will be making nachos! Also going to try some Christmas cookies.
  6. I use Mccormick turmeric, my primary gluten-free spice brand. I would recommend using a food diary to see what else could be bothering you... sometimes it is just from not being healed yet. Also, if you are using turmeric to make things like spicy curries, those certainly can cause GI distress
  7. I made cheeseburgers on Canyon bakehouse buns... the best ones out there by far, no toasting needed. Carrots on the side. I also made these italian almond cookies today, I don't remember where I first saw them, some gluten-free website or facebook thing had pointed out this contest winning recipe was gluten-free. http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/taste...
  8. Glad I could jog your memory! I may make them again.... sooner than later, lol.
  9. It will be less of a chore as time goes on. Glad we can inspire you with recipes.... here is a gluten-free but totally not healthy one: Last I googled bacon and hot dogs because I had both in my fridge, which is unusual, and got this: http://www.plainchicken.com/2013/06/cheesy-bacon-wrapped-hot-dogs.html So I stuffed them with cheddar, wrapped in...
  10. The frozen ones were my favorite meal as a kid... LOL
  11. I haven't had salisbury steak in a long time, this is gonna go on my to-make list! Tonight is tacos and black beans.
  12. Cold here, too! I put some beans on the crock pot, black beans with bacon and I will probably fry up some sweet potatoes to go with it.
  13. Last night I made Spaghetti with Broccoli. Today will be beef stir fry with brown rice. I put in a huge order for canyon bakehouse bread... if you order $50+ it is free shipping with code "canyonfreeship". The email I got says it is good through Friday. So excited to have a good stockup of bread! I will probably eat it all too quickly... lol.
  14. Today I am making spaghetti with broccoli. And some of those immaculate baking company chocolate fudge cookies (purple box mix).... yum yum!
  15. I know its probably too late (was afk for thanksgiving) but it should work well. Had a great thanksgiving dinner yesterday, leftovers today! Yumyumyumyum.
  16. I'm going to just show up at your house one day and stay forever eating your food, lol
  17. Ah yes, Thanksgiving prep time! I should have tried to get an invite to Karens house... lol. Making easy stuff in the lead up to Thursday at my house this year... today I am eating an Aldi gluten-free frozen lasagna. Tomorrow starts prep, Wednesday is pie day and other make ahead stuff, and Thursday is the day we stuff ourselves. I am making turkey breast...
  18. Sure! I use this recipe, with double the amount of dumplings, some extra broth and extra veggies. http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/gluten-free-chicken-and-dumplings/dac34321-1834-4357-b5ee-2e273fabab53 It is basically drop biscuits, but has the same great taste so it is good to me.
  19. Tonight is chicken and dumplings!
  20. Putting a roast beef in the crock pot for later today. I just put it in with carrots and then I make mashed potatoes and gravy when we eat it. Leftovers make great BBQ shredded beef.
  21. Well my apple pie turned out very well, I used mcintosh apples and this filling with the KAF gluten-free pie crust :http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/apple-pie-recipe. Turned out excellent. This week on the menu is breakfast for dinner, chicken stir fry with veggies, chicken broccoli alfredo, grilled chicken with roasted potatoes and green beans, and...
  22. Many people cannot tolerate the bean flour base in Bobs Red Mill Mixes and flours. That is probably why they came out with their new cup for cup flour, lots of people thought the other stuff tasted weird and was too different. Good for them to keep up with the gluten-free times, though.
  23. I have been slacking off not posting what I make here, I got a bad migraine from my last IVIG that is still not totally over 10 days later. Lets see, recently I have been testing pies for thanksgiving. Think I have the pie crust figured out, using the KAF recipe: http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/gluten-free-pie-crust-recipe (with lemon juice and...
  24. Welcome to the forum, GF Pioneer! The ingredients you state for the sauce sound fine. If you post in the forum part of the website, you will get more replies, since it is more set up for conversation. Hope you feel better!
  25. I picked up the bread, the faux oreos (definitely glutino repacked), and mac n cheese and tried those. Mac n cheese was like annies noodles with the crappy store brand cheese sauce. Kids would like it, for me it fell short. The bread was wonderful and soft, but not enough to get me into Aldi often. I also picked up the pizza, ravioli, and lasagna and...
