  1. If you are taking Keppra and Tegretol for siezures, or anything else really, it can be very dangerous to wean yourself off of these. Usually this drug combination is for seizures, which is why I say this. There are multiple generic manufacturers of both medications at their various strengths, so you may be able to find a manufacturer that makes theirs without...
  2. That is a good point about the spray building up! Would be very hard on something you can't immerse to clean.
  3. I have seen just olive oil or just canola oil in sprays at the store. Canola has a higher smoke point than olive oil and may work better for that use. Also the suggestion of brushing it on would work as well. I have a Misto, the fill your own oil sprayer. About ten bucks and it is really nice to have. You can put any clear oil in it.
  4. Have a sour stomach today, so for dinner I just cooked up some chicken breasts, rice, and green beans. Hope it sits and my tummy behaves!
  5. I love crock pot pot roast. No easier way to do it. I did a similar theme last night and made pulled pork in the crock pot. Just add a pork ribeye roast, a cup of your favorite bbq sauce, and cook for 6 hours on low, then shred and enjoy.
  6. Come to texas and I will feed you! LOL... for something I made on a whim, turned out real good. Hubs thinks its hilarious when I eat gravy by itself, but I very rarely make it.
  7. Tonight I was inspired by something I picked up at the grocery store meat counter... going to make steak fingers (fried strips of tenderized breaded cube steak for those unfamiliar) with some mini potatoes and something like peas on the side. Gonna make some white gravy, too, to dip them in or it just wouldn't be right. Yummm
  8. Just a note to all reading this thread, it spans back to 2005, so you may want to start a new discussion if you need answers.
  9. It is good to keep a frozen pizza on hand when you are being adventurous in the kitchen... LOL I have been so busy, I ate frozen pizza twice this week. Not a slimming diet, for sure... LOL
  10. Tonight I am making chicken stir fry. May make it curry style. Yum
  11. Great to hear your doctor was so open with the testing! Three vials should be good, let us know what it comes back as!
  12. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pluots/plumcots. I have always loved plums, but since the plumcots have been widely available, for a pretty long season in my area, I am eating them all the time. Perfect combination of both fruits. Last night I made tacos with beans... tonight I am probably just going to whip up some grilled chicken and whatever veggies I have on hand...
  13. I like to sub in sweet potatoes for regular potatoes in things, and I find that the key to having them stay intact is to get the outsides crisped up before the inside is cooked... then you still have something for the cooked moosh to kind of hold on to. So I will roast them in the oven and make sure to get that crisp on the outside real good... I am not...
  14. Recipe link? Making up a grocery list for next week... LOL
  15. Tired as heck from the job, I threw ore ida french fries and gluten-free chicken strips in the oven. Nutritious balanced meal for me! Yesterday I made a huge batch of red beans and rice and froze up a bunch of servings to take to work. SMRI, a good tip for when traveling is that suite hotels/extended stay usually have fridges in rooms. So, Hampton...
  16. I have merged the other newer Aldi thread into this one. The only truly duplicate post was Karen and the reboxed thing she copied and pasted, everything else has been left as is. Actually doesn't flow too bad. Carry on, All!
  17. Ooooh, I may need to place an order with them then! I would probably eat myself sick with them, too. LOL
  18. We had our frying stuff day today. Fried chicken tenders that I marinated to be spicy, and fried pickles, with green beans on the side. Made extra chicken so we will have that later for a snack. It still cracks me up that I owned a deep fryer long before my Celiac diagnosis, but never used it since I was afraid of burning down the house. Now it comes...
  19. Make you some nachos!!!!!! I know you cook for one, if you make your taco meat moist, like put some tomato sauce in there, it freezes really well. I will make a pound at a time and that is 2 meals for the hubby and I, I just put the rest in ziplocs or a tupperware thing and freeze it. Meat, cheese, chips. Refried beans (bush's are gluten-free) are really...
  20. I totally agree with everyone on this! Today we went out to a local italian place and I had chicken marsala with sauteed spinach. Was pretty good! About to make nachos for a late dinner.
  21. D: I am so hungry for something fresh baked now...... Hmmmmm what do I have in my pantry? Gonna make tacos later.
  22. Good thing about having a walmart is if it is a walmart with groceries you should be able to find enough to feed yourself half decently. Much safer than a fast food place with no gluten-free menu. If it is not a super walmart and just a regular, you still should be able to find enough snacky type items to fill your belly. Or of course, tote your own. ...
  23. Oh, and I tried to get myself a dinner out on Thursday. There is a gluten-free bakery near my work and I asked them where good lunch places were around there. They said the sub shop across the street can do stuff Celiac safe. I went there after work before sitting in two hours of traffic so I wouldn't starve. Dunno who the heck served them but I must...
  24. WHO SAID BACON?!!!! I Could tell Karen, it made me actually log on here... haha!! I want bacon now!!! Been very busy with work, juggling health conditions, nightmare commute... but 2 out of 7 weeks knocked out, I can make it!!! Very tiring, but after all that is done I will be working from home so I shall trudge through. This weekend we are going to...
