Since opening this thread I have read through the responses (some great sources there, thanks) and have started taking a DAO supplement. Effects have been much better and faster than I first expected with my aches and pains, especially in my lower back much improved. I cannot say that it has helped my multi food/aroma intolerances yet but hoping! I am also...

Thanks KK! Yes vitamins are available here! Sitting here on vacation in Dornoch with a splitting headache - I think the bedclothes must have been washed in some detergent I am intolerant to. Typical histamine reaction. These articles are excellent so thank you for sending them over.

Thanks. I will have another search through the internet and see if I can get any here in Scotland. Regards.

Many thanks for this. I take it there are no DAO supplements available yet. My diet is already seriously restricted - I can see further restrictions will be necessary! I do take Sodium Cromoglycate (Nalcrom) but it doesn’t appear to help. Maybe I should increase the dose. Regards.

Having been diagnosed with celiac disease in 2009 I increasingly developed intolerances to certain foods and beverages like dairy, eggs, alcohol, food preservatives, tomatoes etc. haven’t had much success with doctors/dieticians here esp with current Govt cutbacks so have been doing my own research. I am sick to death of headaches during the night and always t...

In my experience, yes. I love oats and I have tried re-introducing it into my diet but each time the side-effects are the same. So, I am afraid that I am not surprised with your problem.

Thanks for this, amazed by how many of the “avoid” foods I have an intolerance with. I will approach my doctor again and try and educate him/her about histamine problems - but as I have had these problems for over 15 years and had numerous physicians in that time, I am not holding my breath for a flash of inspiration. Many are just not interested.

Exactly, don’t take these results as Gospel - only time will tell. Maybe I was lucky in that all the highly-rated problem foods gave me problems and still do. My food diary is in my head as my diet is very restricted but do keep one as isolating a particular problem food can be very time consuming. Very best of luck and welcome to the “club”.

I have the same problem but have learned to live with it. What are your symptoms if you do eat something that was flagged up? Mine are headaches starting 2:30 in the morning and refusing to go away with pills. My food sensitive results have proven to be quite accurate with most flagged up bringing on headaches incl eggs, any dairy, soya, alcohol and any preservatives...

Multiple food intolerances and antibiotics
fergusminto replied to fergusminto's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks Scott - I was hoping someone might say that as it helps my optimistic side. Don’t need a food diary as my diet is so limited any symptoms can easily be traced back to anything “different” that I have introduced. I will give it a few weeks then try introducing something that I know usually causes problems - something important like a glass of Pinot... -
Diagnosed about 2007 I have multi food intolerances incl dairy, eggs, soya, chocolate, alcohol also including perfumes and aromas. All give me bad headaches and fatigue. Doctors are of little help here in U.K. Ever since I was diagnosed I have suffered from floating stools. However recently I have had to take antibiotics for a bladder infection. One...

Thanks Sharib. SIBO does tick most of the boxes but I had a breath test about 6 years ago which they said was negative but tbh they (doctors) are not really interested purely due to lack of knowledge on the subject together with lack of specialists. Thus may end up being a “self help/diy” approach so I will do my own research into SIBO and see what can be ...

Diagnosed Coeliac in 2008. Since then my food intolerences have expanded somewhat which has heavily restricted my lifestyle. Can only go to trusted restaurants and cannot drink alcohol. My intolerences include all dairy (cassein), eggs (Albumen), oats, soya, rapeseed, sulphites, sulphates, phosphates (all chemical preservatives) and various perfumes/cosmetic...

Fructose and /or Milk Intolerance?
fergusminto replied to chrismikayla's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Imo yes. I am intolerant to casein (all dairy), eggs, soya, chocolate and more. Also serveral scents/perfumes. Got worse over last 10 years. Just have to live with it. Big plus is that I have been introduced to coconut cream - fantastic alt to dairy. -
In addition to what Trent has said, the jury is still out on whether Coeliac (as we say in Scotland) causes food intolerances or whether the lack of gluten in the diet causes then but nevertheless as can be seen in this forum, food intolerances seem to go hand in hand with celiac disease. In my own case these intolerances cause headaches and fatigue which...

Trouble figuring out food intolerances
fergusminto replied to saraszat's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi Sara In my experience there is no logic to food intolences and like you my first source of info was an IgG test which indicated all dairy, oats, eggs, soya and silly things like MSG, pears and cashew nuts! Through experience I have added preservatives suphates, sulphites etc. to that banned list. In reality this means that I eat from scratch - no...- 3 replies

Anger, Quick Temper, Depression
fergusminto replied to gfgypsyqueen's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This thread is very interesting. Like so many coeliacs I thought my bad temper/anger was just part of my personality but realise that I have not always been like this at all and it is my celiac disease and other food intolerances that are playing a part. These intolerances make me very tired and very "down" and if anyone asks/tells me to do something I really...
