Celiac.com - Celiac Disease & Gluten-Free Diet Support Since 1995

  1. Another Brit here. As above, I've found this a fantastic site for both information and support. I've learned a lot about odd symptoms which I would never have thought to attribute to gluten from here. It's so helpful because even now I find it bizarre that I could've spent so long, with so many different symptoms without realising they were in any way related...
  2. That sucks Sorry you're having to cope with such a restricted diet. When I make a shake I use coconut milk. Not sure if that would be allowed on your current diet, but it makes a really nice smoothie base I mix with Spinach, Ginger, Cinnamon and a banana, I think the ripe bananas are ok on fodmap diet?
  3. It's on the safe list here in the uk and I eat it without a problem. theres also a really nice almondy toblerone cake available now.

  5. I've found myself choosing simpler drinks and food since I went gluten-free. The fewer variables the less chances for something like this. Even so there seems to be so many ways you can get glutened. A soy latte is about as adventurous as I get now and as my palate changes the starbucks one of those seems too sweet. I had heard the chocolate sprinkles...
  6. Yes! Yes! This one isn't quite as clear cut. You can't say that you've been diagnosed celiac because you've not given the medical community it's chance to diagnose. That said, it's only a white lie if you're saying it to ensure someone takes proper precautions when preparing your meal. My endoscopy for example, was negative for celiac...
  7. There are dozens of paleo sites you can check out for recipes and ideas. You may also want to take a look at the GI: http://www.the-gi-diet.org/ It's based on foods which take longer to digest and don't spike your blood sugar and set off a vicious circle of sugar, insulin and fat. If you get it right your grazing drops dramatically. You stay...
  8. Thanks for all the replies. I don't think my rash is DH, am leaning towards folliculitis!
  9. Very interesting. Useful to me as although I've established a negative reaction to gluten I'm currently in pursuit of a diagnosis, this will help me stay on the gluten free diet if I wind up with a NCGI diagnosis.
  10. I'm not sure either, but it did improve when I removed gluten from my diet.
  11. Hi. I'm currently undiagnosed and wondering whether I have DH and if this could help me reach a diagnosis. For about 17 years I've had occasional outbreaks of a rash on my chest. There are occasionally pus filled sores and it gets really itchy. It never seems to go beyond my chest but occasionally I'll get one or two sores on my back or crotch. It's not...
