  1. Yeah I can not eat carbs, grains, fruits, due to UC and carbs, glucose, fructose causing flare ups. I react oddly to some histamine foods, I have issue with but my tolerance is mid level. Like OVERLY rip red tomatoes are a NO but green unripe ones from the farmers market I can eat 1 or 2 IF i watch what else I eat, canned spinach cooked in the microwave seems...
  2. LOL I had minor symptoms all my life getting worse and worse with constipation lasting 5-11 days, fog, sluggishness, no energy, I slept almost all the time, etc. MY Neurological issues hit after drinking like crazy one new years, the shock to the immune system can activate the genes for celiac and make the body start creating antibodies to fight the gluten...
  3. Yeah issue here is Celiac disease,,,,is not considered a disability by our health system. Look at your other complications, even a misdiagnosis based on the symptoms caused by celiac can be used here, I have autism also myself, if I get glutened or am exposed to some forms of dairy,,,it really comes out. Brain fog makes them seem so much worse. I have a few...
  4. First were you tested for Celiac? Second have you considered NCGS as a issue? Some test negative but have many of the issues assoisied with celiac disease and reactions to gluten. Before getting off we tell anyone to go ahead and get tested while your still eating it. A gluten challenge later will be utter hell, and the reassurance of a issue can help you...
  5. Not gluten I was told by a friend I was probably hyper sensitive to inhaled THC. Something about the way inhaled vs consumed worked and some people being effected very differently. Been over a year since I was around someone smoking it in the same building, Its not legal here for me anyway right now. Anyway point is inhaled I AM JUST hyper sensitive to...
  6. Retesting is a option you should get the biopsy but I understand it if not covered in insurance and too expensive. On a side note there is a a condition called NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) that several of our members have. They have many of the symptoms of the disease but test negative to it. They might come in here later and give you some more information...
  7. Sorta and really depends on the person, peanuts are legumes not real nuts. I have a intolerance/allergy to them (yeah combo deal there, slight allergy, but traces of them make me violently ill). I would personally suggest almonds over peanuts for healthy fats and fiber I will admit I miss the flavor of peanut butter, and make my own almond butter a few...
  8. Yeah sharing the pipe would make you sick, they say kissing someone that had gluten in the last 24hours can trigger a reactions. I can imagine sharing a pipe with gluten eaters will be your issues. On a side note, not sure when or how it developed, but I can not smoke straight weed, I tend to black out from even second hand pot smoke. Seems I am super...
  9. http://www.biadiagnostics.com/services.html Contact them see about having something tested, you then send in a unopened or sealed package for them to test. Two of my nima stories, I tested some BBQ Upton Jack Fruit and it came back positive, first mistake I made was taking the sampling with a utensil I had used to handle some other stuff I was working with...
  10. 10% of celiacs react to oats in a very similar fashion to gluten. EVEN if gluten free. I get the the rumblys and minor nerve/brain fog if I even get a bit of CC from oats. I used to use gluten-free harvest oats, they triple check their oats, have their own dedicated farms, and the company is owned by a celiac family. I had to stop using them even in my bakery...
  11. First off Aldi is really bad with gluten in gluten free products they had over 4 recalls in the past year for these issues. Second its oats, I love them but they hate me as being one of the 10% that react to them. THERE are alternatives, Julian Bakery has a sale on Pro Granola right now a oat free granola, UNGranola is another option. https://julianbakery...
  12. Hmm While home testers are not 100% accurate I have found the nima to be OVERLY sensitive, it can be set off by stuff as low if not below 5ppm. A offical lab test would be needed before you can or shall I say SHOULD publicly condemn a company for this. Perhaps forward your findings, lot number etc. to GlutenFreeWatchDog or see about paying for a lab test...
  13. Few thoughts 1. Medical Gluten Free for the celiac diet is VERY strict you have to clean out everything, check every ingredient, and have a dedicated gluten-free cook area and cook ware. Gluten residue, crumbs, etc can trigger the antibodies. Is your house dedicated gluten-free? Or is it a shared house? Do you eat out? 2. With a gluten-free diet...
  14. The pain is not always present, hell I had for years not had ANY pain just other issues for years, I even developed the lactose intolerance years before. Later the pain came up and it quickly went really bad with my health nose diving and I thought I was dying and running a bucket list. Some celiacs never have pain at all, end even a few cases called silent...
  15. Mucus and loose stools is a sign of intestinal irritation, something is causing issues. NOW with gluten and lactose yes there is a connection if you have celiac disease it will damage, blunt and destroy the villi in your intestines. Guess what, the tips of these villi that are damaged first, they produce the enzymes to break down diary. Hence why many celiacs...
  16. First off you should probably get back on gluten and try to get tested for celiac disease, once off it is a nightmare having to go back on it later. Any doctor can order the blood test, and there is a follow up endoscope and biopsy to confirm it. You do not have to each much just a half slice of a bread a day. Few things about this diet, 1. If medical...
  17. I have a question, what is with the vendetta like rage of hate with the anti papa johns campaign. I feel a DEEP sense of hate for them. Is it cause they are marketing a gluten free crust that is not really gluten free? or did someone actually get it thinking it was safe get poisoned and go "The Vengeful One". I personally do not trust any chain and I even...
  18. Not with corn, peanuts, dairy, or gluten obviously, but I can not digest meats, or eat gluten free foods like beans, rice, etc. Those are the ones, Like cook a steak, chicken or fish meal for someone, when done cut off a piece and set it aside and when done with everything I try it myself and chew the meat for awhile tasting the wonderful flavors making sure...
  19. Really not that hard, dairy free cheese is SOO much easier to get and is taking off, kite hill, daiya are some of the bigger ones, so delicious also has yogurts, for some stuff, I recently convinced my local HEB to start stocking non dairy daiya cheese....they can not keep it stocked keeps selling out. >.> tempted to ask for a cut. Sugar is the...
  20. Gluten Free FAD DIET, not medical lol, yeah I think the news article here serves as a Public Service Announcement to our celiac community...stuff is not safe, it is cooked in a gluten environment and intended for the gluten free fad diet and is probably contaminated DO NOT ORDER OR EAT IT.
  21. I use ad-block and script blocker >.>, PS any ads here are here cause they pay money to be here. Do not trust them just cause they are here. I turned off my blockers once and saw that dreaded glidan scam enzyme BS all over the site and offers for some kind of biscotti. Turned it promplty back on. If fighting bloat I am going to say fermentable...
  22. BeanFields, and Beanitos makes a certified gluten free, corn free, version, and the beanfields one is vegan being dairy free. I can give you links where to get them online if you wish. I personally use Protes which are a carb and dairy free version but the flavor is very weak in them and the texture is VERY toasted and a acquired taste. You can find most...
  23. I was doing some reading on the RDA for Magnesium and it is in the 400mg range as min. in America, BUT many health professionals talk about it needing to be DOUBLE THAT. In the case of celiac disease we have issues with absorption so I would say DEFINITE double to 800 as your minimum. I would space it out in 2-3 doses and perhaps do what I do on stressful...
  24. OK I need some help, first off this recipe is a conflagration of 4 different recipes, SECOND my scale is all wonky right now and keeps shifting, PLEASE someone else go by volume base measurements and get me the grams on this correcting any issues. And Please post pictures, my loaf pan version reminded me of a soft thin loaf...looked like biscotti when cut...
  25. I have contacted my friend who is their sales manager, she forwarded the lot no. you gave to the quality assurance team for testing, they have yet to issue a recall so I do not think it was anything on their end. I went and bought a 1lb bag off amazon and tested it personally and came back negative, I even tried eating a few tsp in a overly seasoned omelette...
