  1. Been updated on my bleeding and bloody stools as ulcerative colitis and IBS, So I started looking at eating a anti inflammatory diet to realize....I already am (link provided at bottom). This disease is treated the mostly with diet, looks like already on it also with my gluten free, and diary free issues. But it does have a new one, no fructose. Well I have...
  2. I developed a corn allergy, here is a ironic part. The allergy medicines I was on contained corn starch or corn syrup.....Yeah also watch out for modified food starch unless it says it is either tapioca or potato, Also watch out for baking powder (All but Heinz brain contain corn starch), anything with a syrup form, maltodexrin unless stated as tapioca,...
  3. It's been brewed from wheat, non distilled, and contains gluten some hydrolyzed some not. As a celiac with a autoimmune disease that attacks your gut, organs, etc. for weeks/months after exposure. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN RISK THAT! There are plenty of other alcohols out there and even beers made from other grains not just wheat. What is the obsession with...
  4. Well I finally found a protein/shake that helps me gain weight, oddly enough it is formulated for celiac. I got it on a whim being really iffy since it contains soy letchin, but I had not adverse reactions to it. I have found mixing it in a shaker with a cup of coconut yogurt and almond milk and drinking it between meals has stopped the odd constant hunger...
  5. There are many articles on beers and even "Gluten Removed" beers not being safe for celiacs and still containing over the 20ppm amount. I would say your celiac friend might be a silent celiac, of those those who has symptoms less pronounced and almost unnoticeable. The immune system I bet is still tearing up his insides when he drinks those, he should have...
  6. We all go through this, hell I thought I was going insane and dying before I got diagnosed your not alone there at all, I was even running a bucket list expecting to die in 6 months. Can take a few weeks for it to start to improve you will notice major differences in 2-6 months on a strict gluten-free Diet. Fatigue and anxiety are normally made worse...
  7. Actually from Ennis TX small town on 45 south of Dallas
  8. Imagine they changed out to a apple cider or coconut vinegar instead of a grain based one. Bit odd they claim 0, but if they do it in writing like that they must be pretty darn sure. Do they sell this stuff by the bottle?
  9. Well as mentioned it is a autoimmune disease that effects the immune system, top it off with how it damages your your intestines....allergies, and food intolerance go hand and hand with celaic disease. And yours sounds like a allergy, need to get that tested but it is probably to one of the proteins or sugars that make up dairy. I developed really bad corn...
  10. For testing you have to be eating gluten, not much just a cracker or a half slice a bread a day, you need to be eating it for 12 weeks for the blood test and at least 2 weeks for the endoscope and biopsies. Remember to ask for a FULL Celiac blood test! I have been lactose intolerant for over 15 years myself, and allergic to whey, casein is fine it seems...
  11. Most major chain grocery stores also have a gluten free product list that is available, you can look up this way to get a idea, if in doubt of anything you can always call the company or email them and ask. I have used Ore-ida hash browns when cooking breakfast for others all the time. I normally make my own fries in the oven with sweet potatoes my own seasoning...
  12. If only he was in the US he would not have half these issues with finding gluten-free foods, supplements, and doctors......wish the poor guy was in the US I would offer the guy a place to live and cook for him for a few weeks.
  13. I do better not eating carbs, just nuts, seeds, veggies, egg whites, (Can't do meats as they do not break down). Sugars seem to cause bloating grains bloating in fatigue Do sometimes treat myself to a few bean chips, or tiny bit of gluten-free rice or oats. Just check my profile for list of issues. Anyway my dietician told me to rotate my foods especially...
  14. HotPot/Nabe basically a huge soup pot you provide the noddles, since your grain free, I would suggest Sea Tangle Kelp noodles, No Oodles, or Miracle noodles, or Miracle rice. Ask everyone else to bring "FRESH" veggies, meats etc. you see what they bring and you choose the seasoning that would accompany what gets brought. Used to do crazy mystery pots this...
  15. Well seeing some improvement is a good thing, As mentioned perhaps sweet potato instead if you can get it, just change them out. You can even bake the sweet potato and have it that way for a on the go meal, wrapping it in foil while baking and carefully unwrapping add another level of safety to CC. Might remove the rice, and stick to the sweet potatoes for...
  16. Yeah the test will show normal on a gluten-free diet cause there is no gluten for the body to react to....Your a celiac, Anyway how is that elimination diet working. Mucus and joints and neck issues under control on the broth and potato only diet so far? Or did something happen and you get off the elimination diet. I still think you might be having a reaction...
  17. EU where he is from it is common for caramel coloring to use wheat not corn. and oddly enough it can sometimes be processed in a way in which the proteins that cause the ill effect are removed and sometimes not. So playing it safe he should stay away from it the guy seems to by hyper sensitive, much like me, I can get sick from residue cross contamination...
  18. Hmm so rice did bother you, lets try boiling some potatoes chopped with a fresh knife in the broth and getting some carbs in there and no grains, Or you can just baked a Sweet Potato wrapped in foil and have it and drink the broth, Should help fill you up a bit. Might try boiling some eggs for perhaps breakfast the next day for some fats and protein. Hard...
  19. I take it the neck pain, headaches, mucus, skin, etc. issues all disappeared on this diet? And just leaves you with really bad heartburn. If this is the case you learned something you where eating was causing all the other reactions. From here you can try introducing some other food perhaps another ingredient like rice, making a rice gruel in the broth, This...
  20. Shop for pacific bone broth on your local amazon. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pacific+bone+broth+&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Apacific+bone+broth+ Something like that, unsure on European brands myself. But a diet of just drinking a broth for a few days would be a good way to eliminate a lot of possible...
  21. Yes the soaps, almost forgot about those, I had issues for my first 6 months gluten-free with minor issues that ended up being the shampoo I was using. A lot of them like to use some form of hydrolyzed protein like wheat in them. Even ones that do not if another product on the line does, a good chance that product at one pout used the same bottling machines...
  22. I personally stick to soups, stir Fries, egg white omelettes with added fats, and my own homemade, ice creams, cheese sauces, and dips. And sometimes treat myself to my own baked goods, and tiny bits of foods I prep for others. I also snack alot on stuff I trust from brands I trust of seeds, nuts, etc. Sometimes you branch out a bit and it bites back like...
  23. Welcome to the forums, this is a great group for support. I have multiple issues (check profile) related to Celiac disease myself. It have been a great experience here over the years. And I often find myself helping others or coming out about my issues here. Feels like a nice understanding family most the time. I also post often on recipes, suggestions on...
  24. Umm the way your phrased this makes no sense. I had to reread it over 4 times to try to understand it. But yes, if in a shared house some stuff might happen, I always suggest gloves, and laying out freezer paper on your prep surfaces. I also have a habit of leaving the fridge, cabinets, and drawers open before I start cooking to avoid touching the handles...
  25. Old post but none the less, few odd points, I have gotten glutened by grabbing a bottle of sparking mineral water that a family member had drank out of after eating something with gluten in it. Have to be careful with opened ones, Also some flavored waters might have something you could react to, same with ones with added minerals or vitamins. This last ones...
