From a brief look the DQ7 gene is linked to celiac and the DQA1 05.05 is linked to crohns...the latter can be a real issues as everyone has different food triggers. For celiac testing...you have to be eating 1-2 slices of bread worth of gluten daily for suggested 12 weeks for it to show up for the blood test or 2 weeks? for the endoscope and damage....

Yeah I considered that, ...but I can eat pure sunflower lectin (they sell it online and I got it to test the lectin theory) with hardly any issues. In regards to peanuts it falls under a food sensitivity. Sort of like how I threw up with iceberg lettuce for years, and I had issues with pickles and cucumbers for almost a decade making me really sick, I spent...

Yeah you should probably go whole foods, read the newbie 101 about other things you should do. BTW it is much easier and cheaper to eat simple eggs and bacon/ham, hardboiled eggs, simple veggie dishes (sauted, salads, steamed, baked, grilled), and simple meat dishes like baked fish, stewed/roasted meats, etc.

Vegetable Cellulose
Ennis-TX replied to Jen C's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Generally a corn derived ingredient or something else, it is in many gluten free ones also. >.< I have other issues with it in moderate amounts but never a gluten reaction. -
Think of your intestines like they are carpet burned, avoid spices, acidic foods, nightshades, peppers, onions, and garlic IE anything that might irritate it. Stew/cook stuff til super tender and easy to digest. I do take pig pancreas enzymes since my does not work, but in my search I have come across many vegan options..I think Jarrow Used to make a vegan...

Well I had been doing great but my Ulcerative Colitis flared bad the past few days. I have many suspected culprits as I tried a few new things and changed up my diet quite a bit the following are the suspects. Pumpkin Pie Spice and Pumpkin in the new scones/cookies, Chia meal I used for making a chia pudding, a new caffeinated flavored coffee I tried from...

I need flavor also, I normally wait for a sell then buy a dozen or so of these. I have given reviews on a good amount of them, some are dead on others lack in strength. Just sweeten and add creamer and they are glorious...and yes they are gluten-free been drinking them for years. https://christopherbean.com/collections/flavored-coffee

You will find many to be labeled gluten free...used to see it on the delight ones. I personally just use Almond, Cashew (rich and creamy) or coconut milk for creamers as dairy can be a issue for some celiacs...I think almond breeze even released a extra thick and rich coffee creamer.

I use Christopher Bean Flavored Coffees myself...I talked to one of their reps who had celiac in the family and I even was testing a few of theirs out of paranoia years ago and it was all safe. I have found issues with some flavored coffee, and bulk bin coffee. I messaged several companies years ago and many told me not to drink their coffee...The major...

Yeah unless the whole place is gluten free it is not safe in most cases. Points of CC come from the flour in the air (seen a pizza shop?), sauce spreading ladles, Cutters, Pans, digging into topping trays and getting them CCed, Gloves not changed, etc. Sorta why the Gluten-Free pizza at pizza hut or domino's is not suggested for celiacs or those with...

So I have found some other issues I have found with my fracked up gut I thought I would share....rare anyone could relate to some of these but throwing it out there. For me my body gets moody after being sick, eating something it disagrees with, or for months after a exposure. During these times my diet has to lack peppers, easy on tomatoes, garlic,...

I found magnesium supplements and CBD helps with stress, depression, and anxiety...I take some other things that are supposed to help like a bit of dark unsweetened chocolate in the morning. I honestly feel panic attacks if I lower my magnesium and get suicidal thoughts after 2-3 days of lowered Hemp or CBD intake. I used to just get a book or something...

Mushroom Bacon Alfredo Paleo and Keto Started with cooking 4 strips of turkey bacon and saute some cremini mushrooms and 2 gloves of garlic in some truffle olive oil. I then pulsed the mushrooms and garlic in a food processor with a bit over a cup of the new primal kitchen alfredo sauce. I then rinsed 2 packages of miracle noodle fettuccine under running... -
I use Natrol Melotoin, found it at walmart. Magnesium I use either Doctors Best in the powder ordered from Lucky Vitamin or Amazon...or Natural Vitality Calm which I get on sale at Wholefoods or at walmart in a tiny container when in a pinch.

Yeah my reactions after going gluten free were much worse when I was exposed again...pretty much the whole vomiting for hours, but violent to the point of sometimes rupturing capillaries and full blown ataxia unable to move, then D for days, brain fog, muscle issues, nerve issues, etc. Before dia, vomiting was mild but almost daily, constipation was a big...

Yep if anything your metabolism might speed up when you start absorbing your nutrients. It really comes down to healthy choices and your macros more then calories in the end.

It took years for me to gain muscle mass back lol. But seriously stay away from the gluten free breads, cookies, etc. MOST will use tons of starches and other grains and is a glucose bomb and more unhealthly then the gluten ones. Stick to a lower carb diet and you should be fine, I went keto to deal with my other issues but maintain a 7-14% body fat...

...Yep too me 5 doctors to get a diagnosis and I shiver at what I had to do to be taken seriously. Anyway fact is many doctors hate the celiac diagnosis as there is no medicine to be sold for so they can not make money off you...yeah they get commissions off prescribing meds. I used to have a herbal and supplement store in town with a licensed nutritionist...

I would suggest eating foods higher in iron like red meats, pea protein, or cooking your soup in a cast iron pot (it does infuse a bit). Vitamin C will also help with your natural ability to absorb it. Iron supplements are also notorious for being hard on your stomach and gut often causing nausea....if anything they make a patch you can wear to avoid this...

Fat digestion with celiac
Ennis-TX replied to Mikeymike93's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I use PPIs also but oddly it is because my body does not not producing acid...and a weak acid. IE it can not break down foods but it keeps making the stuff so I just burp it up without PPIs even without eating...side effect of almost ODing on Caffeine as a kid I guess. I have managed to taper down my PPI doses to less then half of what I was originally prescribed...
