To be fair Pascha has NOTHING else in it, every other chip has stabilizers, preservatives, and sweeteners. I keep a bag of their pure dark chocolate chips around in case I get a request for them (I run a Paleo Based Catering/Bakery) . Also the Plain Bakers Chocolate bars of Pure dark chocolate would probably be a cheaper option to stock up on cheap high calorie...

I pretty much only eat eggs, some soft cooked meats, and nut/seed butters (sunbutter, then homemade almond, pecan, hazlenut, macadamia nut etc). I will be back on soft cooked veggies in a few months when my guts heal more. Augason Farms and a few others have freeze dried eggs, meats, veggies etc. You just mix in hot water to reconstitute them, the veggies...

Clover valley soy sauce
Ennis-TX replied to Grainnoshan's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Most soy sauce is made with wheat and not gluten free, the exception being Tamari Sauce which is a soy sauce made without wheat in most cases. But as always read the labels. -
The What's For Dinner Tonight Chat
Ennis-TX replied to jess-gf's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Did a bowl of scrambled eggs, 1oz bacon extra crispy, and made a cheese sauceout of Leaf Cusine Smoked gouda spread and hot water with salt and pepper. This paired well with strips of a nuco coconut wrap used for tortillas. -
Getting off gluten is like getting off drugs, it literally even has withdrawal symtoms. Like someone trying to get off drugs the same approach of having to live in a place absent of said temptations is best if your having issues. Judging by the phasing are you wanting to hear worse case issues and get a scared straight approach? We have had members die...

Always call the restaurant and double check!
Ennis-TX replied to agman00's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Gluten Free Watch Dog, does lab testing on food, and reports stuff to the FDA. They are subscriber run, and the person that runs it is really proactive. I have had a few products tested by her, I first got sick, then ran in a NIMA and got positive then contacted her and she had them tested...one did actually comeback with like 18ppm gluten years ago. But...- 10 replies

Barley in gluten free cheerios?
Ennis-TX replied to Shalome's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Cheerios have been hit and miss for years, the mechanically separated grain does mean minor CC is inevitable but is normally kept below the 20ppm in testing. But some boxes to get hot spots with more and go untested as they only test batches. If they make your sick then do what most of us and stay away from them and go with a grain free cereal option....there... -
Personally I have some other issues and only found I can eat at a dedicated place called Across the Pond up in Richardson Texas in the DFW area. I used to enjoy eating a few other places but one has shut down and the other changed cooking methods so it is no longer safe for me. >.< it got to the point I started up my own Paleo based catering business...

Per Wiki "FODMAP is an acronym, derived from "Fermentable Oligo-, Di-, Mono-saccharides And Polyols". They are short chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine. They include short chain oligo-saccharide polymers of fructose and galactooligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and sugar alcohols, such as sorbitol, mannitol...

Tried this once, doing it again but put 7 cans of seafoam in with 30 gallons in the tank left (3/4 tank), it stops the rough running for a bit and extends run time before it starts running rough and showing the obvious power loss of struggling to hit 50mph. BUT the engine still runs in "limp mode" with a limit of 65mph. BTW it is a 2011 Ford F350 6.7L Diesel...

Actually in the hospital now getting a gastric emptying test done, I brought some Julian Bakery Bread since they want me to eat bread with the eggs. The cooked it all in the microwave in disposable containers so I have no worry about getting gluten or any other allergen in the foods. So far the first 2 x-ray have shown the food not to have moved...sorta expected...

Newly diagnosed & need advise
Ennis-TX replied to Dani Leea's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Many have this, I for years only had constipation and all my other issues I thought were normal...I had also become quite numb to pain. Reactions after going gluten free were much worse and kept hitting back harder if I slipped up. One thing to consider is that every time you cheat you risk gaining new food intolerance/sensitivities or getting secondary... -
getting glutened on "gluten free" corn chips? Builds up??
Ennis-TX replied to zenith12's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
...ppm is parts per million it is not a volume or mass measurement but more of a percentage type measurement. The gluten free legal requirements is under 20ppm and I think it refers to a serving. We can not really test below 5ppm, and most products actually test below the testing limit and have no gluten (Gluten Free Watchdog does product reports and has... -
Gluten free nutritional supplements
Ennis-TX replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Like gluten free meal supplement? Pioneer labs makes Celiac Support Clear Meal. Personally I been making my own mixes from various protein powders, nut/seed butters, and also taking a good multi and adding B-vitamin complexs to drinks. I have a few meal bars like Julian Bakerys I keep around for snacks and emergency meals, I have also used Stoka Bars, and... -
Do batch test your containers of Hemp protein, hemp is often grown in rotation with wheat and farmers use some of the same equipment for harvesting and transport. This means that contaminated batches are very common. I got glutened by Hemp several years ago, I got a positive test on nima. and even had it tested and came back at 18ppm gluten. While below the...

With EPI it is take 1 with your first bite of a meal and take another 30mins later if you have not finished eating....but I also have to take them to eat anything. Also consider taking them in ratio to how you eat. You need certain amounts to digest certain macros and foods. I like RealZymes because they made them to suit your diet type (IE keto for me) but...

Supplements
Ennis-TX replied to Dazza's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It will probably be best to see what you low in via testing before supplementing. I take a good adult multivitamin, and back when I was diagnosed needed Magnesium, Vitamin D, and a liquid Multi B vitamin 3 times a day. I now only take about a 3rd of what I used to. I liked Liquid Health Mega Energy B complex (Formally Energy & Stress Formula), some... -
Can't figure out what's glutening me
Ennis-TX replied to Strongarm's topic in Super Sensitive People
From Haribo website "Are your products gluten-free? Our manufacturing facilities use different glucose/dextrose suppliers and some ingredients are derived from wheat, so despite our test of our products having shown no identifiable levels of wheat, we have made a label change to reflect that to ensure consumers’ safety." https://www.haribo.com/e... -
waiting on biopsy for daughter...
Ennis-TX replied to smp's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If her symptoms are not bad right then it might be better to stay on gluten in the bare minimum (1-2 slices of bread a day) required until the biopsy. My reasoning is that many have MUCH worse symptoms reintroducing gluten after going gluten free for a bit. SO going back on gluten later could be really painful and hard later on to finish testing compared... -
I feel bad...
Ennis-TX replied to Azur's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
In regards to the withdrawal....gluten withdrawal is honestly like getting off drugs, the withdrawal in some people is really bad. I can honestly say the gluten withdrawals were worse then trying to cold turkey get off Methamphetamine -
New microwave needed?

The humor of microwave explosions and fire trying to hit that 500F to destroy the proteins. -
Now I was actually over 200lb before diagnosis, a lot of it was inflammation and my body was in hoard mode all the time thinking it was starving since it could not get the proper nutrients so it held on to everything it could. I dropped down to the 120s within 6 months removing gluten. Blood in poop...no that is Ulcerative Colitis or Crohns, you only see...

Sushi - sticky rice
Ennis-TX replied to Fran Latteier's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This depends on who is making it and how, along with measures for cross contamination. It is normally made with a high starch rice (sometimes called glutenous rice but its gluten free just very sticky with rice starch), from there the cheap way of making it involves adding sugar, salt, and rice vinegar, or using mirin (sweet rice wine), rice vinegar, and... -
Gastroperesis
Ennis-TX replied to Laura P63's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
>.< I use hot magnesium citrate to flush it down then stay on a bone broth, eggs, and some soft cooked meats for awhile and drink 16oz of warm water every 1-2hours most of the day. But my gut still randomly decided to hold onto food til I vomit it hours later....so far as long as I stay away from emulsifiers (guar gum, xantham gum, starches, agar. etc...
