  1. Nut butters? I learned a long time ago to chew stuff that is hard til I can swish it....no chunks at all. Takes forever but makes meals satisfying. Coconut Wraps by NUCO are soft and dissolved in you mouth after chewing for awhile...it is a tortilla made of coconut flour basically. They are expensive I buy them on Thrive or Lucky vitamin depending on sales...
  2. https://www.luckyvitamin.com/sb-lip-balm#q=page/1/Specialty/Gluten-Free You just reminded me I just ordered some from ECO Lips...the company claims gluten free on the website....amusingly they have shaded ones also.
  3. To help boost ferritin it is suggested you take vitamin C with your iron to help your body utilize it. D3, everyone is a bit different I am good taking it a half dose of a sublingual from Liquid Health in a dropper. Iron I just rotated off a pill version I was using and am going to be trying a liquid version by Trace Minerals to try to boost my absorption...
  4. If you feel the need to eat a bit later try some nuts or seeds. Fats and protein keep you fuller for longer. I find whole shell pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds from GERBS are great snacks and chock full of fiber, or some toasted nuts that I toasted in pan in and keep in a bowl. A scoop of a vegan no added sugar protein powders works great in a small bowl with...
  5. Freezer/Butcher paper, lay it out and use it for cooking and prep surface, even go the extra mile and use it for serving on like a table mat or table cloth. It also makes clean up a breeze as you just toss the sheet. Foil and parchment paper. great for lining ovens, baking dishes, baking pans, grills with to give you a clean cooking surface. Bring...
  6. Best on the market are Gluten Free Harvest, the company owns their own fields, equipment etc. The family that owns it and runs it has celiac in the family. Completely 100% dedicated gluten free from field to bag. NOTE I can not tolerate oats but I used this brand in my gluten free bakery before we transitioned to grain free. http://www.glutenfreeoats...
  7. Well many of us are self taught nutritionist, I know we also have at least one lab tech worker, 2 nurses, 1 baker, 2 health bloggers/book authors and I suspect we have more. Do not recall names of said members to link directly but has been brought up over the years. I am sure there are more, I myself studied quite a bit about interactions and nutritional...
  8. I do not but I am going to tell you your not alone in to running into ignorant "Know it all" doctors......I know I went through over 6 of them....forgot the exact number....before I found one that even considered celiac. Honestly I think it comes down to there is no money in helping people with it....no medications help and it is completely self regulated...
  9. https://www.glutenfreewatchdog.org/product/benadryl-allergy-not-labeled-gluten-free/475 Report Date: 05/12/2016 The sample was tested using both the sandwich and competitive R5 ELISAs. Sandwich R5 ELISA: Both extractions tested below the lower limit of quantification for the assay used of 5 ppm gluten. Competitive R5 ELISA: The gluten...
  10. Eating out, constantly exposes yourself to gluten, cross contamination is a huge issue in any non 100% dedicated gluten free restaurant. Fast food is a HUGE NO, there are many alternatives and I will provide you a comprehensive list. NOW you should try eating whole foods only at first nothing processed if you can. Celiac disease causes damage to your intestines...
  11. Have a gluten-free & AF Expo in Dallas at market hall on the 28&29th of October, I am planning on going and really enjoyed last years. They have cards on every booth and table that tell you the list of all allergens in the products being sampled. So I could just glance and see if it contained any NOs for me. I found several products, got to talk directly...
  12. I went to college for game design and computer programing, but my celiac reaction, and gluten ataxia caused brain damage. I used to be able to do coding, now stuff starts to rearrange on the page or just not make sense. Like I know I should know it but it does not connect, funny and aggravating thing about brain damage, stuff just does not work like you KNOW...
  13. If you read a bit more carefully, what was stated is a quote from another source, not the original posters words.
  14. I would turn into Mr. Hyde when I ate gluten extremely angry like a switch was flipped, I was confused often and found my thoughts actually looping like a broken record. LONG trauma story there. I used to have acne like bumps on my face and even on my back and chest, I have not had one in years since going gluten free, I take that back I dairy is also a trigger...
  15. Intriguing, unsure if fear mongering....but I do know I developed a allergy to corn after my celiac diagnosis. There are a few other members that have a intolerance to it and some it even triggers psychological symptoms when consumed. In the end I dropped all grains due to celiac complications leading to other AI issues.
  16. B-vitamins, and Magnesium are common issues for this in deficiencies, look them up and see if they seem to ride in with any other symptoms you have. I have suggestions on brands and dosing that I swear by if interested. It could also be a inflammatory reaction to a food like you were thinking. Keep a food dairy writing down everything that you consume...
  17. They also make a grain free granola (Currently on sale when you buy a 2 pack) that many claim is a good cereal replacement. Oddly I have a issue with gums, I have to watch when I eat xantham gum in a meal and can not eat it with solid foods. PS I hear you on the mush. I make super soft omelettes by adding almond milk to them and adding coconut, almond...
  18. https://julianbakery.com/shop/?fwp_product_categories=bread Might suggest the sampler pack. they do best for toast honestly, they MUST be kept in the fridge, or stored in the freezer.
  19. First off weight is up 130-131lbs, I can see muscles building up, and I am talking to a fellow body building who is my "body goal" about his training method. I even managed to work with him and create him a Ketogenic dark chocolate cake and frosting recipe for him to use for his birthday. Took me a week and a ton of work but I did it and it said he might...
  20. I recently started taking marshmallow capsules, I open them up and take the powder in them in a drink, shake or food. (I have a aversion to medication capsules due to some odd reactions in the past). I started it when I had to drop my UC prescriptions due to loosing medicaid and having no insurance (a month supply is $689, medicaid used to make it free)....
  21. They make a "low gluten" wafer for Catholics etc. that do not let you take gluten free communion. My pastor at my church has me bake bread for myself and others who require a gluten free communion and he blesses the loaf and keeps it in the freezer for communion for us.
  22. Depends, my bakery uses different things for different products. Our bread that use eggs we use Psyllium Husk unflavored, about 1-2tsp a loaf, for our vegan baked goods we use different things depending on the base and intended product. Our muffins tend to use a combination of flax eggs (1tbsp ground flax mixed with 2-3tbsp water) and apple sauce. We used...
  23. I have to eat them in extreme moderation, I love the flavor but they irritate my stomach and my intestines. It seems random with how it effects me, most of the times it seems to cause a constrictive and inflammatory effect on my bowels. But I have had a few types and blends that caused D instead of the normal C issues. Funny, I love red pepper but have to...
  24. I have been on zantac for over 10 years now. Poster boy pointed out some issues with PPIs causing issues with stomach acid and causing issues breaking down foods. After considering a talk with him about and failing to get off of them, I turned to enzymes. I consume several digestive enzymes with my meals and indigestion and issues with my stomach not dumping...
  25. I buy Crio Bru, they are roasted cocoa beans all they are is fat and fiber. They go great in baked goods I mix them with a non sugar sweetener and use them for toppings and in protein shakes Vegan protein powders are for putting on weight and muscles, like body building ones but non dairy. I use Nutra Key V-Pro and MRM Veggie Elite for blends...
