  1. I found Olive Oil in a spray can a couple weeks ago. I think it's Bertoli brand? ok, found it on their website http://www.villabertolli.com/product/category/684397/cooking-sprays
  2. Really?? The Udi loafs are TINY to start with! Even at $3.99, it's not that much more than buying two Udi's loafs though. I don't like multigrain bread though so I guess I'll have to just stick with my Udi white bread. Aldi, for the size stores they are, have a huge selection of gluten-free products though.
  3. I stopped by Aldi today to look for bread. They didn't have this gluten-free bread everyone is raving about. I am out of bread. I stopped by the regular grocery store and they were out of the Udi bread...
  4. I cut one in half the long way, lightly spritz with olive oil and add some Parmesan cheese. I bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or so and then finish under the broiler to brown the cheese. It's very good and juicy when done. I love zucchini!! You could add some spices, pepper, garlic, etc. if you wanted too. I've done a variety of things but this is my...
  5. BBQ ribs and broiled zucchini
  6. We used to live in a townhouse and the woman next to us was from India. For whatever reason she liked to cook in the middle of the night and waking up at 3 am to overpowering Curry just is not a good thing...I can't even walk into an Indian restaurant any more.
  7. Finally finished my corn tortillas tonight. I've been making those with some chicken, cheese and tomatoes. I'm having an Old Orchard Apple Ale.."naturally gluten-free" .
  8. I'm making rotisserie chicken tonight. I'll either make some Ore Ida hash browns or some baby yukon gold roasted potatoes. I have always liked Ore Ida potatoes. They are always in our freezer in some form or another.
  9. Luckily my fog has mostly lifted. It is so frustrating sitting at the computer and not being able to type simple words because your brain just won't spell them out for you!!! It's not 100% gone, but gone enough that I don't feel like a total ditsy person any more!
  10. I think I might pick up a steak tonight. I saw they have an Outback Steakhouse near me and it seems like they are very gluten friendly and have good procedures in place! If not, I can pick one up at the grocery store and broil it---just not the same as grilled steak though.
  11. I think I need to go to Walmart.....
  12. Making Chicken Fajitas tonight. Finally REAL food!! I had some sausage for lunch that was very good. I can't remember the brand, A______?? I tossed the wrapper already. Question about brats, hotdogs, etc.--are they generally gluten-free or not? I haven't seen any listed as gluten-free and many have caramel color (which is not gluten-free??).
  13. Annie's Mac and Cheese...not my favorite...but it's food...
  14. Well, I guess you could read it that way but I didn't say I could only find, I said I finally found...again, I'm new at all of this and if the package doesn't say gluten-free, I'm not buying it right now until I get more experience with the chemical names and what not. I also don't think the "old timers" on here realize how confusing their information is...
  15. My next leg of this trip is in extended stay hotels, but it's not always an option. Like I said, I haven't stayed in a Hampton Inn lately that hasn't had at least a fridge. I checked my booking and it says that there is a fridge and microwave so I'm not losing my mind, but that was from my corporate travel site, not the hotel directly. I'll have to double...
  16. I thought there was one with the cooler....I will pick one up but I didn't know I needed it until about 3 hours ago.....the purpose of the cooler was to keep my food cold in the car driving from one town to the next. I wasn't anticipating needing it in the hotel room....
  17. It's a Hampton Inn. I haven't stayed at a Hampton Inn in years that has not at least had a fridge in the room. None of the rooms at this hotel have a fridge or microwave. I brought food with me. I brought some microwavable dinners and such but no microwave. I have cheese, crackers, some "granola bars", pudding, some single serve vegetable cups (that need...
  18. Well, strike one for my first night at the hotel. NO refrigerator or microwave in the room. The guy at the desk offered to store my food in the fridge in the employee area so that is good. The hotel is next door to a grocery store so I walk over to find something for dinner. I finally found some cut salami that was gluten-free so I added that to the cheese...
  19. Tonight--who knows--probably some crackers and cheese and toostie rolls....
  20. It's an industry term I guess...sometime they are packaged on the same line, other times they ship the products to another place in bulk and it's packaged there but generally it's considered "repackaged" either way.
  21. Aldi and Trader Joes are owned by brothers from what I understand.....and maybe theses threads should be merged...
  22. No, they don't take it out of one box and put it into another...the boxes or containers are just switched out on the line....
  23. I just posted on another thread about Aldi today .Their gluten-free products, the ones I bought are all certified gluten-free, From what I'm reading on the packages, they do not process on shared equipment. Someone got an email back from Aldi on the other tread on this topic. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/107698-aldis/ It doesn't address the...
  24. I have no desire to cook anything tonight. I wish I had some frozen pizza or something in the freezer!!! I might have some gluten-free noodles--I can make spaghetti or something easy.
  25. I generally don't eat donuts for the health aspect either . Our Sunday tradition since I was a little kid was to get donuts for Sunday morning...they were the fluffy, fried, glazed donuts usually with chocolate frosting . I like cake donuts too but not as much as I like the chocolate glazed donuts . The frozen gluten-free ones I have are baked....but they...
