  1. I wonder if the study were able to confirm if all of the subjects were completely gluten free. I could see how slight or occasional cross contamination could interfere with the results. Also if they had another auto immune disorder that might cause more inflammation.
  2. Celiac disease can all sorts of different health problems. I don't think you have ruled out all of these possibilities. DAO deficiency, although it maybe possible, is just one possibility among many. Like alcohol consumption naturally causes withdrawal/hangover symptoms including headaches. Some people may be more sensitive to these things than other people...
  3. The intestine has many neurons and receptors that control food movement within intestine. Blocking these receptors may improve the symptoms of IBS.
  4. I used to get Alice in Wonder Land syndrome on occasion. Mostly I think it was a dreams or when I was waking up or going to sleep. I would imagine a finger which was absurdly huge like a mountain and a bicycle that was like made out of toothpicks. The combination of the two was very nightmarish. Also it was accompanied by sound that was to low pitched and...
  5. Toe walking itself may not be a problem other than it causing other social problems according to this website: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/toe-walking/symptoms-causes/syc-20378410 There are also some things that link ADHD with nutritional deficiencies such as magnesium and zinc.
  6. It sounds like there may be some risk of a false negative if a kid is tested under the age of three. There is also genetic testing and different types of blood tests that they can run. Here is some more information: https://celiac.org/about-celiac-disease/screening-and-diagnosis/screening/
  7. Oh, okay that seems fine. Just so long as it isn't illegal or something you might get into trouble for. Working in a strip club sounds drastic. Definitely a different job.
  8. This doesn't sound like good idea. I recommend not doing anything that would harm anyone else or yourself. Even if you get the money there is no guarantee that the either idea- for a food truck or a gaming truck- would work. I would recommend being flexible and considering other options. You may feel like you need the food truck or a gaming truck to be happy...
  9. There are a number of people on this forum who have experienced gluten withdrawal symptoms. Make sure you are avoiding cross contamination. I would do a whole foods based diet, with just fruit and vegetables (excluding nightshades). That may help speed up the healing and reduce inflammation. You could rotate your foods to see if there is a problematic...
  10. ACV, Baking Soda or lemon juice can effect the ph within kideneys and kidney function. There is an study online about how baking soda can help reduce inflammation.
  11. I don't have pain, I was just reading interesting things on the internet.
  12. If there is a way to treat the pain then yes they should do that. Otherwise they may want try Green light therapy. I don't have pain except when I stub my toe or try to do something productive. The latter is so painful.
  13. If eat the wrong foods I tend to get mental confusion and anxiety disorder. The foods that work the best seem be just fruit and vegetables along with meat and limited spices. Oats are a trigger for me as well as corn. I don't think this is a cross contamination issue but it is possible. A lot of other grains I am unsure about and it seems to vary. My...
  14. Here is an old thread on the topic. It seems like there is a lot of variation in how long the symptoms last, but for some people it will go away quickly or they can tell right away if a food is problematic. There is evidence that the AIP diet works autoimmune digestive problems, such as Crohns and IBS. I am not sure what people success rate is...
  15. The friend should go to see a doctor, or go to the emergency room ASAP. Even if it is a digestive problem it shouldn't be ignored. Maybe its an infection? Damaged intestine? Leaking intestine? Cancer? A problem with a blood vessel? Maybe it is a heart attack if its chest pain? We aren't doctors so we really have no idea. The extreme pain though is a big warning...
  16. You may also want to see to a doctor to see if it is an allergic reaction. An elevated heart rate, anxiety and burning sensations can be symptoms of an allergic reaction. I don't know if this is the case or not.
  17. If someone is diabetic they will need to take insulin in order to keep their blood sugar down. A high blood sugar level can cause damage to tissue and a wide variety of health problems. Nobody can live without insulin. A doctor, if you have access to one, would be able to tell if you are prediabetic or recommend a treatment plan.
  18. I think that study is poorly designed and the results can be very misleading. The conclusion of the study was just that more study is needed. That is probably true in any case. I wouldn't draw any other conclusion from the study though. A correlation does not mean that the antidepressants are causing the damage to the intestine. Likely there is a third...
  19. I would talk to you doctor about taking antidepressants. Your anxiety level seems really intense. Antidepressants could help a lot with that. I think just about all prescription medication is gluten free and should be fine to take. You could post the name in this forum and someone can check it for you. I haven't heard of antidepressants interfering...
  20. Can you drink milk fine? Milk tolerance can change with time or after a gluten exposure.
  21. Is the granola made with oats? If so are they certified gluten free? If they aren't labeled gluten free there is a very high risk of cross contamination. Some people with celiac disease still may not be able to tolerate oats even if they are gluten free.
  22. Why do you think this? Your posts are confusing Posterboy. I don't know much about sleep apnea but I assume there are other possible causes that have nothing to do with vitamin deficiencies. Some could well be linked to a deficiency. Why are you so sure it is magnesium or vitamins in this particular case and not something else? If you are not sure, I would...
  23. I have heard that breathing lots of flour can cause an allergic reaction to gluten. This is known as a "bakers allergy." I doubt that that was the trigger for celiac disease.
  24. Yes, cheese is gluten free generally. I think the spray on "cheese" and cheese spread may have gluten in them. The others are fine. So long as they don't say they contain wheat in the ingredients you should be fine.
  25. I have read that the "gluten free pills" can help with accidental exposure to small amounts of gluten. They are ineffective though at stopping large quantities of gluten from entering the digestive track. I would research gluten allergies and celaic disease to make sure the doctor gave the right diagnosis. Unfortunately a lot of doctors are not familiar with...
