  1. Yes, I've had reactions to dental anesthesia. Thiamine regulates the adrenal glands and the fight or flight reaction. How much thiamine were you taking previously? What type of thiamine did you take? Was it in high enough doses as the research suggests?
  2. I corrected my NAFLD by taking high dose thiamine. I corrected my Type Two Diabetes by taking high dose thiamine (benfotiamine). My insomnia went away with high dose thiamine. My panic attacks went away with high dose thiamine. High dose Thiamine is safe and nontoxic. "High-dose vitamin B1 therapy prevents the development of experimental...
  3. @cristiana, Have you heard about autoimmune hives? "Chronic urticaria and autoimmunity" https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24305753/ Vitamin D helps regulate your immune system. Getting your level higher (in the 70's or 80's) might help, too. If it is DH, cutting dairy can help. Dairy contains iodine which aggravates DH...
  4. @cristiana, Does your rash get worse when you're exposed to the sun?
  5. http://www.google.com/search?q=are+antibiotics+anti-inflammatory+nih&oq=are+antibiotics+anti-inflammatory+nih&aqs=heirloom-srp.. Apparently so.
  6. Welcome to the forum, @Bluewonder, If your parasitic infection was treated with some sort of antibiotic, your antibodies would have gone down due to the anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects of the antibiotic. Iron deficiency anemia can also cause reduction in white blood cells (antibodies). Now that your iron deficiency is corrected...
  7. I'm sorry you had a problem with that article. Maybe this one.....it does include bowel diseases....in humans..... The Overlooked Vitamin That Improves Autoimmune Disease and Autonomic Dysfunction https://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/overlooked-vitamin-improves-autoimmune-disease-and-autonomic-dysfunction Unequivocally, Thiamine Deficiency...
  8. Yeah, well, I didn't think you'd like the studies done of fish, either. An antigen is an antigen. It causes an immune response in MS (also an autoimmune disease), in fish presented with a fish antigen, in Celiac Disease. Thiamine helps down regulate the immune system so fewer t cells react. Vitamin deficiencies can occur after years on the...
  9. @Mer123, You may have vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Gluten containing products are required to be enriched with vitamins and minerals to replace those lost in processing. The gluten free counterparts are not required to be enriched. Since you've been off gluten containing products for a month, you are probably not absorbing sufficient vitamins...
  10. It's thiamine deficiency. Thiamine Deficiency Promotes T Cell Infiltration in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis: the Involvement of CCL2 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4135011/#!po=28.2258 Thiamine deficiency causes a more severe reaction to antigens than seen in the thiamine sufficient.
  11. @Gloria L, Look for a B Complex with the "activated" forms of the B vitamins, like this one.... https://www.elitelifenutrition.com/products/super-active-b-complex-pure-b-50-complex-vitamins And.... 5 Benefits of Vitamin B100 Complex https://www.livestrong.com/article/401283-benefits-of-vitamin-b100-complex/ If you get...
  12. @Graves_Mistakes, Ouch! Those crazy cramps are from your thiamine being too low! "The Effects of Vitamin B1 on Ameliorating the Premenstrual Syndrome Symptoms" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4825494/ Thiamine is needed to turn the food you eat into energy and enzymes! If you're low in thiamine, your body conserves...
  13. @VictoriaC, Black tea, like Lipton's, is a histamine releaser. So is caffeine. Many Celiacs have a problem with high histamine. Mast cells release histamine as part of the immune response. By avoiding foods and drinks containing high histamine and ones that trigger mast cells to release histamine, gradually our immune system calms down. Try...
  14. It's a no go on the Oreos. 😿 I've broken out in a rash... Blasted corn starch.
  15. I really think that if the chromium (in the multivitamin and shake) is stopped, then the iron will come up with continued iron supplementation. Discuss with your physician or nutritionist.
  16. @Gloria L and @tessa25, You poor things! Have you tried the Autoimmune Paleo diet? Dr. Sarah Ballantyne, a Celiac herself, has written a book that is very helpful called "the Paleo Approach." This diet has been scientifically shown to promote healing. I like this book because it's easy to read with pictures and diagrams and lists. https...
  17. Eventually, I got a genetic test done which says I've got HLA DBQ 2 and 8 genes. One codes for Dermatitis Herpetiformis on the outside and the other for the gastrointestinal rollercoaster ride on the inside. 😺 Several times, I had asked for the Celiac panels, antibody blood tests, which came back negative, surprisingly, considering my symptoms. ...
  18. You keep asking questions, MadMom! I love questions because I love learning. In my culture, sharing knowledge is equivalent to giving a gift. Sharing what I've learned so others can experience a better life is my gift to all readers.
  19. Once I went on the AIP diet, I felt so much better within days. Removing inflammatory foods was like going on a vacation for my poor intestines! I had suffered with Celiac symptoms for as long as I can remember, but because the whole family (it's genetic!) had similar symptoms, they were brushed off as "normal." By midlife, I had developed a cascade...

  21. Once I got the stumbling blocks out of the way and started the Autoimmune Paleo Diet, I felt better within weeks. It's hard to compare because some people don't have active Celiac Disease very long before it's identified. Others have spent years with active undiagnosed Celiac Disease draining their health for decades. I'm one of those oldies...
  22. You're very welcome. I'm well blessed and thankful I can share what I've learned on my Celiac journey. Keep us posted on your progress!
  23. The Autoimmune Paleo Diet is stricter than the Paleo diet. I look at the difference between the Autoimmune Paleo Diet and a Paleo diet similar to the difference between a Gluten Free diet for Celiacs and the fashion trend of a gluten free diet. Just like some people adopt a gluten free diet because they want to drop a few pounds or their friends...
  24. You're not alone in this. We've all been beginners at some point. And it can be confusing and overwhelming, but we're here for you. I'm so thankful for Scott's forum.
